Morigi trotted out of the forest taking in the glade before him. He gazed at the meadow feeling the breeze and the whisper of a brook. Almost gliding forward he trotted up a small incline and saw a herd of horses and his eyes sparkled like he owned this place, but then muttering 'another time..." Instead he stole into a pasture filled with water lilies and somewhat mucky ground. He hated the muck but he felt he needed to cross and see what else could be near that other patch of water lilies...

It was abeautiful day. The sun was warm, shining down warm on his dark body in a way that would normally cause him to seek shelter if not for the slight breeze that played on and over his overly large butterfly wings, cooling the sweat that beaded on his glistening green coat.
Surely it was not too warm to seek out what beauty he could find. Following the sound of a sluggishly babbling brook, he flew along a path near the outskirts of the forest that sheltered him. The scent of water lilies nearby drew him like a moth to a flame.
It was a different scent, leading him along a trail he had yet to explore in the forest. A different way, a different path. A new adventure to relieve his near summertime boredom.

Morigi winced at the muck climbing up his legs thinking 'I gotta get this yuck off!' He almost wished he had wings... almost. Instead he drew upon himself a small stream muttering with a blank stare " not enough water..." he then followed the stream and found a deeper spot, sighing with relief he plunged his front left leg in and scraps some muck off with his horn. but upon looking up he saw such a beautiful creature flying his way. getting up and out he straighten himself while shaking off some mud. Standing almost as if he had a strut!

If there was one problem Laures had with the forest he loved as much as he was able to love a place, it was the branches and brush that inevitably became entangled in his mane and tail, or battered his wings if he tried to push through areas of thick plantlife. So it was with great relief that he viewed the stream he stumbled upon.
Normally, he viewed streams with disdain and disgust- they caused his wings to become waterlogged and useless for days to weeks depending upon water saturation- but today it was a blessing. With a cry of gladness he rushed forward much like a young colt, splashing through up to his knees before he lowered his gaze to find out just how horrible a mess his mane was and to take a few gulps of the cooling liquid. He even ignored the droplets of water that clung to his wings.
Unsure if he had heard something, or if it were a figment of his overly active imagination-of which he had a great deal- Laures started and looked around trying to spot the disturbance. And grass green eyes met cloudy blue, and Laures realised he wasn't alone.

Morigi smirked and lowered himself down for a drink upon making eye contact his eyes winkled, in a confident voice he spoke, "hello." he then tossed his head to get his hair out of the water and out of his eyes so he could gaze more at the pretty creature before him!

The first thing Laures noted aside from the clear sky blue of his companion's eyes was the spiral horn resting in the center of their forehead. So it seemed to be his luck to run into yet another unicorn. The deep, confident voice revealed them to be male, a first for the flutter. Normally he ran into females- regulars or unicorn, with the one angeni- so this encounter looked to be of many firsts for the flutter.
Oblivious to any particular regard the other stallion might be showing, Laures contemplated his answer. He couldn't just charm another stallion, it wasn't in him to be a flirt with members of both sexes and he was perfectly straight, but he could be polite. Politeness was one virtue he possessed in abundance.
He bowed his head ignoring the mess his mane was in and and murmured a quiet "hello," as he dipped his head to get another gulp of water as his drink had been interrupted by the same stallion on the other side of the brook.

Morigi's ears perked upon hearing the greeting, He started to slowly drink again until he tried to lock eyes again" Pardon my saying so but you are very pretty, your family must be very proud, Oh dear, it seems yours wings are sagging a bit, is something wrong?" saying the end part with concern in his eyes.

Laures blinked, faintly surprised. He was not used to others being quite so... friendly and talkative. Usually that was his place, and then usually among females. He wondered idly if the females he talked to felt so surprised and taken aback.
"Thanks for the compliment. I haven't seen my family in a long time, so I wouldn't know." He couldn't think of anything to say but to answer each part of the stallion's speech. He looked back at his wings in alarm at the last bit.
Ah dang it all. Here was a perfect example of the many reasons he disliked water and rivers and and...
It was only with great self-control that he was able to keep from swearing. At least they weren't too bad, but he would be grounded for at least the rest of the day, no matter how warm the sun.
He backed out of the water as quickly as he could manage without splashing even more water on his wings. With ragged hair and limp heavy wings, Laures wondered how he could be admired.
"I'm waterlogged," he murmured with a pout as he returned his attention to his companion. "It's fine, my wings'll be useless for a day or few until they dry, but it's nothing life-threatening."

Morigi giggled to himself a bit." Well I hope your hooves don't get dirty."
He liked this guy, even if he seemed a bit uncomfortable. He could tell this guy wasn't his type but he wanted to play around with him more.
" I like I see some mud on the back of your wing..."

Laures reached the bank of the brook and looked in the water to make sure nothing else untoward happened. He truly wasn't vain or anything, but he disliked looking less then his best when he was around others- how could one make a good impression when they were slovenly and unkempt- and this was no exception.
Worried at the thought his brilliant wings-his one true vanity- were soiled he craned his head trying to get a good look and see if the stallion was right, or if he was having fun at the flutters expense.
Not being able to see the back of his wings, Laures determined the stallion was most likely making fun of him. Lower lip starting to stick out in a pout, Laures decided to try and get even with the stallion, even if it wasn't much. But he didn't know enough about him to come up with a prank, so he set back and thought to learn by listening and observing.
If nothing else it was a pleasant diversion on a long and boring day.

Morigi snickered and moved beside him, almost too close and whipped his tail lightly over the edge of the flutter's wing and swiped the offending mud from the wing.
He gasped when he found out he was wrong.
"Got it, but... where do you find a flower petal that looks like mud?"
Morigi smirked on the inside wondering if this guy carried petals what he would smell like...

If there was one universal truth about flutters, it was that their wings were extremely sensitive to touch, and Laures was no different. He jumped, startled by the attention, nearly jumping out of his skin. While he'd gotten slightly better about being touched, he normally had more warning and could keep from having extreme reactions.
"Sorry about that." He stammered. Sometimes such a reaction upset those he was with, and he tried very hard not to upset anyone.
"Flower petal that looks like mud?" He raised his brow in confusion. He'd never even heard of such a thing. Racking his mind, he tried to discover where he could have found or encountered such a thing.
He been wandering the forest for the past long period of time, he didn't know exactly how long, and he'd never seen anything. But he'd been through the forset and every type of underbrush imaginable. He'd stopped paying attention.
He turned around and lowered his face to get a good look at the "petal" maybe he could get a better idea if he saw what it looked like for himself. But in so doing he bumped into the other stallion.
Could nothing go right for him today? He stammered another quick apology. "Sorry."

Morigi was a bit taken aback when the flutter bumped into him.
Morigi then ate the petal ," see gone now... eww I think it wilted, Stupid heat."
Then morigi thought a bit, "do your wings give you needed balance?"

Laures blushed. Awkward, awkward. Could he do anything to make this encounter, this entire day any more awkward?
He shook his head slightly as the unicorn ate the petal. And he had been curious, wondering just where it might have come from to get caught on his wings. Wincing in sympathy- nothing tasted worse than wilted flowers, at least in his opinion- Laures waited.
He tilted his head trying to think of how to answer the question. "Wings do play a part in my balance. I'm just so used to using them, I'm a little clumsy without them."
It wasn't often he was anything less than graceful, and he disliked having to call himself clumsy, because usually he wasn't. "I'm normally not."
He felt the blush grow deeper and spread. Earth just open up and swallow me now, he silently prayed. This day couldn't get any worse, could it?

Morigi watches as the flutter's expression changes and contorts.
" Try to relax, it's unbecoming not too."
Morigi didn't like it when pretty things weren't relax, almost everything they did was labored!
" I have an idea, name, what you love, and what you hate. I'll go first, The name is Morigi I love the color green and watching dances, I hate getting my horn, or anything else , dirty. Now your turn."
