The captain of squad seven paced through the desert at an easy pace. He didn't want to strain before this match. A snake crossed his path. He took a pause to rest, pondering about his opponent. With no idea as to who it could be, he sighed.

"Maybe it’s a test." he thought aloud as he stared up into the sun. Whoever it would be, Ryuunosake would do his best to off him. He saw this tournament as a perfect opportunity to kill off as many shinigami as possible. This challenge did not change a thing as he was still on his lifelong road to revenge. He placed a hand on his sword and began to slowly release his spiritual pressure to signal his opponent that he was ready and waiting. The hot sand beneath his feet quivered, trembled, and shook, rippling out like pond water. The captain's uniform fluttered wildly. He then closed his eyes and waited.

Staring back at her with his cold glare, Ryuunosake drew one of his two swords. He would be sure to not underestimate this one. The captain assumed the proper position, gripping his weapon firmly with both hands. His sandals dug into the hot sand as a burning breeze flew past.

Ryuunosake managed to take a step forward as soon as he saw her leave his sight. She was still able to cut into his back, but not deep, causing a slash through the squad seven symbol emblazoned on his white vest. 'bold . . .' he thought as he began to turn around. The sand obscured his sight. ' . . . resourceful.'

The punch landed firmly on his cheek, discoloring his complexion to an odd purple. The blow didn't appear to affect him much as he spun around with a heel kick of his own aimed for her mid section.

He wasted no time and bolted forward and pulled back for a quick slice. Just as he began to slash, the captain seemed to disappear, slipping out of sight. A tense moment past before he exerted pressure to her right, coming down with a heavy swing.

Ryuunosake quickly drew his other sword to block the incoming swarm of attacks. He avoided serious injury, but not without being niched a good few times. Rips split open all over his uniform with blood seeping out of some of the openings. Through it all, he still remained unmoved. His icy glare remained on her the whole time. The Captain took in the hot air in a deep breath as he stood up straight.

He used one sword to block her attack and the other to keep the tiger at bay. A curious look struck him as he stared at the tiger. 'A little unorthodox' he thought as he swung his swords in defense. 'Looks like I need more power.' He swiped her and the tiger with a powerful swing and disappeared. Sand flew up at them, indicating he jumped back. It was then that he called out his shikai, closing his eyes while saying the familiar phrase.

"Michiko, Chiyoko . . . awake." His eyes flew opened and a repulse of intense spiritual pressure radiated from him. His swords changed to alternating black and white and his stance changed. He was using his Quiet the Mind technique.
