Well jagex admitted they are working on the new skill planned to come out later this year or early next year. It's f2p and p2p so this thread will be used to make your predictions.

Honestly I think the new skill is barding and not sailing. Sailing as a f2p youll only travel to karamja and crandor so it isn't much. But barding considering the new rest update is f2p as well may be useful.

Higher up in levels you get to play more instruments and the more higher levels you can start to use it for healing, recovering run, prayer, and even summoning. Leveling up is simple. Right click any npc and choose to play a song for them. If they like it you get exp but if they don't your exp stays the same. You can also make different instruments which once made will give you some exp. The higher levels when you start recovering s**t you get exp for each point recovered to you and others. So lets go onto the instruments.

Level 1- Lute (the guitar thing most musicians have)
Level 5- Drums (the bongo ones not a drum set)
Level 10- Violin
Level 15- Lyre (fremmy trials required)
Level 20- Accordian
Level 30- Flute
Level 35- Start recovering yours and others run (if they rest around you)
Level 45- Banjo
Level 50- Start recovering yours and others hp
Level 60- Trumpet
Level 65- Crystal Flute (requires roving elves)
Level 70- Saradomin Pipe, Zamorak Lute (with 50 prayer)
Level 75- Guthix Bagpipes (50 prayer)
Level 80- Bandos Drums, Armadyl Flute (60 prayer)
Level 85- Start recovering yours and others prayer and summoning
Level 90- Play music while walking by equiping instruments
Level 99- One man band!

So this is my prediction so what do you guys think will it be?

One thing's for sure. If it comes out before I max out f2p, which is likely, means I'll be f2p for longer.

In anycase, I was talking about this in chat the other day. Some believe it could be Engineering. That would tie in with the Drawves a lot since that's their type of thing. I could see you being able to build things that would mine for you, cut down trees, fish and all that. Of course they would have a limited use. Like, they'll break down after some time, and you'll have to either build more, or you may be able to repair it using certain items.

As for Sailing. It could still be possible for f2p. Sailing doesn't have to be about going to islands. Although, being able to travel straight to Crandor would make that ore there a little more inviting. Although then it would crowd up a bit. However, take some ideas from Wind Waker. You could find treasure with Sailing. Also they could add fishing spots out in the middle of the ocean. You'd be able to fish for turtles and mantas then, and they could add more too. Another thing which would be cool is underwater cities. I remember when they added the underwater place for RFD, they mentioned wanting to add more places underwater like that. There are many other possibilities, really.

Hehe, I kind of know. Mod MMG <3. If you're in his cc you might get some clues. But no it's not boarding or sailing, MMG said as long as he is CEO it wont be sailing.

Tell us this-
Does it give/require combat?
and Is it beneficial and useful to a skiller?

Well, those questions haven't been answered to me, but I can tell you it's like a whole separate game. It's going to be a lot of fun and requires imagination is what he has said in the CC. Oh, also I don't think it requires combat, I'm not too sure, I'm sorry.

If this is true and being a musician is the new skill, I disapprove. Summoning I don't like, but it's at least beneficial to the members. Construction also had its uses when they introduced that. But INSTRUMENTS?!?!?! It's going to be useless and have little to no purpose.

Actually barding is probably more useful than summoning i'd say. Guessing you didn't read my post it helps you restore points and all. Plus it it can be a great way to make money by becoming a street performer wink

"Street Performer".
But really. I can recharge my own run, why would I take the time
to pay someone else to play a flute just so I can get my run back
a little bit faster? =/

Not digging it, even though I myself am a musician, it just seems kinda silly.
