Whenever I read manga presentation means alot if the art is really awful I'm very reluctant to read it but if it has a great storyline then I look pass that and just about forget why I didn't want to read it in the first place. Anyone else like that?

I care about the story a lot more than the art. Though, I do like pretty art... sweatdrop

Oh, I'm very much like that. I usually find manga at random and start reading, but if the art is very... off-putting, then I usually feel disinclined to continue reading, unless I know the art will get better or if I was told before-hand that the manga was very good.

I'm like that, being a huge critic I twitch if the artwork is too horrible. Sometimes bad artwork stops me from reading a manga. My friends say it's my downfall. I think good manga shoulld have a balance of good artwork and a good storyline.

I tend to look for manga that has more outstanding art. But if I read a summary of a story and like the idea, I'll get it. There are a few manga I own though that I own purely for art because the story is hard to follow (ex: Alichino) sweatdrop

Glad some people responded. Although sometimes I'll admit I see pretty artwork and will read three volumes before I realize just how dry the story is. But some manga like Love Roma is really funny even though the art is terrible.

Both are important to me. Since i read some in book stores, and buy others, the ones i usually buy have both good art and good story. The ones i read in stroes mostly are lacking in one. I mean, i'm not rich. ^_^ If i see pretty art, i might pick it up, only to find bad plot. But, i'm really not tha biased anymore. I've been proven wrong a few times.

More than the quality of the art, I consider the style of it most of the time. Even if a Manga's art isn't top notch, I'll like it if it's style is new, and if the style of the art compliments the style of the story. For example, FLCL is an insanely funny and crazy story so I don't mind that the art is simple and rough.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. I'll read anything that claims to be manga. (I once read this thing called Elf-Quest...let's just say it wasn't manga) However, when it comes to recomending it or overall enjoyment, I tend to like story more than art.

Anyone else like that? Same with me. I know I shouldn't judge it like that, but I can't help but fell reluctant to read anything that has really bad art.

if the art is totally horrible or the sketchy type, then I won't even read one chapter even if someone tells me that it's really good and funny, I won't read it (ranma 1/2, that one where there's that 25 year old guy who likes his sister, but didn't know she was his sister...)

I don't mind the art being subpar, if the story is able to captivate me.
