(The following RP is a logged version of the roleplay originally done over AIM. Mauja belongs to Polette and Leini belongs to Seaki)
Polette Such a bleak day. For once, Mauja sat alone, in the limbs of a dying willow out standing alone on the savannah. He had no friends that traveled with him, so he often found himself approaching strangers to find entertainment.
Today, however, there was no such stranger. At one point, he actually went about looking for someone to bother with his antics, but he had no such luck.
So alone he sat, letting one of his paws drift in the wind as it dangled below him, anxious for some sort of contact.
Seaki A lone dog, walked on a dusty path. She yawned - today was boring. Her pups were getting older and her mate was ever sleeping. She had to steel herself not to leave this family as she did her last. She loved her mate - she did. Honest! And her pups as well, more than anything, but her feet. They enjoyed a good wandering. Drifting, dancing and following the beutiful stars as they glimmered at night.
At first, nothing was amiss in her little area she's like to call a territory. She was quite far from her den, but the path was marked as one she walked often. However, when she was gawing about the path, looking to the ground, then into the trees she spotted what seemed to be... a paw? Leini tilted her head lightly in confusion.
Why would a paw be dangling from a tree?
Cautiously, she moved closer for inspection.

Polette It seemed as if Mauja had drifted into a motionless sleep while his eyes remained open. He was unresponsive, and didn't see movement from the ground below. It was all just a blur of colors, as he had already given up hope of finding anyone for the day.
An overpowering breeze washed over him, and forced his eyes to blink, returning himself to the world. They moved, scanning about quickly to make sure of where he was, then scanning over...oh my, had something actually wandered up to him?
His ears perked up, and, although he didn't move, he watched the dog carefully until he made his move.
Seaki The female dog had her nose in the air - the creature was alive. She could smell that much at lease. The smell of breath and the absence of the smell of flowing blood - those were the hints. She tilted her head. Maybe thre creature was sleeping. She didn't mind that the creature was there - she was just cautious of a threat to her or her family. She gave a frown. She knew better then to wake a sleeping creature, if Machu was anything to go by.
Leini gave a sigh and turned to continue her rounds.

Polette Wait.
Whaaaat?
She couldn't leave! Not now, anyways. Mauja was far too bored to spend the rest of the day alone, and even though it was a dog, he'd still have fun with it.
Sliding down the trunk of the tree gracefully, Mauja soon came up behind the dog. It was female, he could smell it on her. This would prove to be even more fun then he had expected.
Seaki Her ears swiveled back. So the creature wasn't asleep. She continued on her way, slightly hoping the creature wouldn't follow her. She knew the creature was feline, but not which. It obiously wasn't a lion though. It would smell of a pride, for the most part. All the ones she'd come across. She simply walked on.

Polette "So you really must not like company." Mauja saw her twitching, and, knowing reactions as well as he did, he just knew she was resenting him right then. "Or is it just a personal disdain for cheetahs?" This time he had moved himself in front of the dog, forcing her to stop.
Seaki Leini bit back a snarl, not wanting to set off the feline - cheetah, her mind supplied. "I'm not a socialble creature, cat." She commented in disdain, though her eyes clittered curiosity and ferocity. The look in her eyes were ferel, almost as if she would attack. It would be fun to play with this cheetah - to see if she could push his buttons. He was one almost like her, just a little more... Strange? He showed it, but she didn't.
She stared him down, paws not moving forward, as the cheetah was blocking her path. Leini grinned, slightly flashing her canines.

"I find that most aren't 'sociable creatures.'" Mauja almost hissed the words, the end of his sentence leaving the air still.
"You know, you can't stare holes through me." After a recent encounter with a rather pretty cheetah, Mauja found little tolerance for the 'threat' of staring. A cool smirk was strewn upon his face as he stared down at the female. He had decided to make her his play thing for the time being, so he could care less whether she wanted him there or not.

She gave a coldly amused snort and shook her head lightly. "Of course not. If I could stare holes hrough something, hunting would be as easy as catching a dead antelope." She commented with an almost feral grin. She never liked cats - she supposed it was in her nature. The only cat she was ever kind to was a lioness named Hantu. She was sweet in her own way.
This cheetah, however, was not Hantu. Though, she was still curious with the creature. He was interesting, and crazy. But, she still had a gut feeling to stay away from it.

"Love, you need to loosen up. It's not like I'm going to eat you." He raised a brow to the red eyed female, a 'kind' smile on his maw-- or at least what was as close to kind as he could manage.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'll tell you my name. How's that, my dear?" Mauja leaned down, putting one leg out further than the other, giving the appearance of bowing. "My name is Mauja, sweetheart." his glowing orange eyes looked up at her, stoic and unwavering.

Leini brightened a bit, feeling less agressive with the providance of a name. "I would hope you wouldn't eat me, I'm not sure dog-meat is good," She commented. "Mauja, it is. Leini is what they call me," she said ominiously. Her read eyes still sparkled with a certain feral fire. He was, afteer all, close to her den.
She narrowed her eyes a bit and kept her eyes on him, not dipping her head. Her father taught her that it was only a sign of respect to dip ones head in a bow.

"So, darling, is that an insult to your kind? Or are you just trying to save your own skin?" He moved his head closer with each word, hissing the last word out. He wasn't about to be overly friendly with this one, as it was apparent she wasn't going to offer him the same luxury. He was, however, going to have some fun.

"An insult? Do you respect me? Why would you bow to someone you don't respect," She nearly snarled out. She wasn't angry, just... okay, maybe she was. Thius cheetah was mocking her, and she didn't like it one bit. "Don't mock me, cat."
She wanted to walk away, right now, but you never turn your back on the enemy. That's what got you killed.

"You think I respect you just because I bowed?" Mauja started to laugh, and it became heavier as time went on. He found it hystarical, her views on things. "Love, I don't respect anyone. I bow as a courtesy, nothing more." His face had changed; his happy go lucky, crazy demeanor had now shifted away, replaced by something nasty.
"If I truly wanted to mock you, dog, I would make your ears bleed with my words." his eyes narrowed slightly, filtering through different scenarios.

"Gods, no, I know you don't respect me, you hellion," she growled. She still wanted to run, but she stood her ground. She was nervous. This wasn't going her way, and she didn't like that. Cheetahs, or at least this one, had strange views on the world. Courtesy? No, bowing in dog society was a sign of trust and respect.
The harsh look on the cheetah's face made he give a light wince, but she lowered her head in challenge and bared her teeth.

"So, is this how it's going to go?" Mauja smirked devilishly, his tone deep and powerful. "You make me smile, doll face."
His tail swayed back and forth, as he thought of how to balance himself when doing his 'stunts.' That was the one good thing about what he did-- he always knew how to fight.
He reached a claw out, barely scratching the dog's nose, signaling a start.

With the slight brush of her nose, she ignored the slight scratch it made and lunged at the cheetah, feral angry and protective instincts for her pups kicking in. She opened her mouth to go for his throat.

It didn't take much for Mauja to move out of the way. He was a tad too slow, however, and ended up with a cut on his throat. "Oh poo. Now see what you've done?" He tensed his paws, and moved back to where the female had landed after he moved, knocking into her. He wasn't used to fighting smaller creatures, but he knew that he'd come out successful in this fight.
