Melody is doing much better these days. The babies are sleeping longer, Melody is sleeping longer, and she's able to enjoy those last few blissful days before the dreaded teething begins.

Any day now, she thinks to herself with a sigh. She'd already had to ensure they wore bibs at all times AND carry at least two rags on her person; ugh. They'll outgrow this phase soon enough. And then she can pick up ONE stuffed toy without it being soaked in drool, wear ONE shirt throughout the day without having to change every time she holds a baby, go ONE minute without having to wipe a chin...

But as far as annoyances go, it's not bad. Especially since now she can actually enjoy her morning walk with the children, the spring to her step has finally returned, and none of them are irritable from lack of sleep.

Which means that this time, as she passes the Udon-ya, she actually slows, glancing at the front door. She wonders...

She'd never bothered to stop by before; to be honest, she hadn't the mental capacity to pay attention to her surroundings these past few weeks, but now she stares at that door, wondering perhaps...?

Hm.

Melody reaches out with her mind, as if to peer in the window and see if anyone is home before knocking on the front door. She wonders if Great-Grandpa is home so she can properly thank him for his help in discovering the twins' sensitivity to magic...?

Miss Rika, right? Melody is nearly positive it's Rika in the window, but it never hurts to confirm, especially since Rika had done the same.

And ah... Melody wasn't here for anything important; just stopping by during her morning walk. But she did want to thank Setsushi for his help in discovering the reason her children weren't sleeping at night.

At this, she kneels by the stroller and wipes their chins, as if she'd been conditioned to do so whenever she speaks to or about them. "Yuck," she murmurs with no accompanying projection.

From what Daddy told Melody, they woke Rika at that time? She's sorry they disturbed her. sweatdrop

"Ah... eheh." Melody can't help but laugh nervously. (Please don't be angry, please don't be angry, please don't be angry...)

But yes, she confirms. They are.

And when confronted with this new person, both twins not only bombard her with curious projections and audible babbling, but also reach out for her monocle with glistening, drooly hands.

"Er." Actually, Melody thinks she does...

She pulls herself to her feet and tugs the diaper bag free from the mesh behind the stroller, unzipping it and pushing aside stuffed ducks, diapers, wipes, bottles...

"Aha!"

There it is! Neatly folded and sandwiched between a diaper and a package of wipes (and smelling vaguely of baby powder), Melody removes the veil, quickly explaining she'd been keeping it on her person in case of emergencies.

Melody would be happy to return it, though she's curious as to where she'd be able to obtain others like it; does Rika think these things are commonplace enough to be sold in the Silver World?

"Ah...."

Money. That subject seems to be coming up a lot lately... But Melody, for the time being, shrugs off the concern. They'll manage somehow, and perhaps there's a Gaian equivalent they could use if they just look hard enough. Right? Right.

She puts aside her private musings for the time being as she retrieves two terry-cloth ducks from the bag and place them in Tsubaki and Eiji's eager hands-- upon which they both promptly shove them into their mouths.

The ducks? Ah, well...

Daddy bought them.

And that's all Melody says, as if that would explain everything.

Melody thinks that should be easy enough; and she'll see about looking around Gaia for similar items. There are so many magic-users on Gaia (like the one next door, harrumph) that there has to be some Gaian equivalent.

Hm, thinks Melody. Maybe goggles or glasses... (Oh, they would look so absolutely DARLING! Hmm... hmm...)

Glasses of customized visor material, Melody thinks, would be best when they're older; no matter how durable the material, Melody still doesn't quite trust little hands with expensive things... sweatdrop

Besides, once they're older and can actually give their input (and maybe by then Melody and Boyue will have a more stable home life and jobs and...), Melody wonders if maybe, maybe, maybe, she can find a way to have lenses crafted specifically for their needs.

Like prescription sunglasses!

True...

But it is something Melody and Boyue can discuss; quite possibly with Aunt Luna and Grandma June.

And if it wouldn't be any trouble, Melody could use a glass of water, though the children seem to be fine.
