In light of reason events pertaining to the guild I've decided to go ahead and make a thread where people can suggest their opinions on how to make the guild a better place for everyone. Yes, I know we have a Suggestion Thread but this issue needs a thread all it's own.

I know many of you are annoyed with all the "rubbish" that's been going on, I have been too. Between the, I admit, needless topic posting, to the just plain ignorance, this guild is headed for, well, not a good place. Some of us have been trying to help things; some of us have been making things worse; some of us haven't been doing anything. In order to keep this guild running in top shape, and acceptable for everyone, we need to work together.

To start things off, I'm going to go ahead and post my suggestions.

►Rules Change:
Quote:
Here's a few ground rules for posting in the guild:

1. No flaming. Civil debating is allowed but anything insulting, demeaning, or down right uncalled for is not allowed. Gaia has a PM system for a reason. Starting drama, continuing drama, and start fights "just because" is included here. Don't do it.

2. No bumping! You didn't join this guild to bump, and there is no point in bumping either.

3. No spamming.
- This includes posting for the sake of posting and posting in threads, that have not been posted in for over two weeks. If you have nothing important to say, don't post.

4. Don't discuss ways of breaking Runescape TOS. In example, item scamming.

5. No trading Gaia items for Runescape items. This is against Gaia and Runescape rules.

6. No begging for free items. If you want items, work for them like everyone else has.

7. No Advertisement of 3rd party programs. I don't care what it is, if it's not the JageX client, I don't want to ******** see it.

8. No Player Worshiping. Players are not Gods and do not deserve all your time and attention.

Just a little more understanding and clarity to some of the rules, especially number 3.

►The GRC Forum:
Perhaps we could turn that into a Rant Forum where people can go to rant about bullshit happenings on Runescape and/or real life. Everyone knows s**t happens but sometimes you just need to let it out.

►Admittance to the Guild:
I admit, we need to start weeding out the rather unintelligent people that are trying to get into the guild. These are just a few short questions that I thought of quick. Though, I do believe that we NEED to have a question that asks something about the guild that a person would have to look for.

Quote:

In order to even be considered being accepted into our guild, you must answer the following questions as completely as you can.

1.) What is your Runescape name?
2.) Roughly, how long have you played Runescape?
3.) What are the fourth words in each of the Guild Rules?
4.) How did you find this guild?
5.) Why do you want to join this guild, and why should we accept you?

►Runescape Link List:
I think this should be retitled to say something along the lines of "Runescape Help Sites" or "Runescape Guides". Something to let people know that these are safe sites that they can visit for help in Runescape so that they don't have to post a thread where only one other person will reply.

►Runescape Name Sticky:
Has no purpose what-so-ever other than pushing the other stickies like Welcome and Bank Pics to the bottom of the list. It has not been updated since September 2007 and really does not need to be. If more people would just post in the Welcome thread, then we'd know who they are. And with the "new" entrance questions they should have to provide their name.

►Respect:
Members of this guild have had major issues with respecting each other. I, for one, am guilty and ashamed of it. We are all human beings from different parts of the world with different experiences. We need to be more understanding of each other and not just jump on our flame-trains. You are not better than anyone else for any reason; I have faults, and you have faults.

This is all I can really think of at the moment, so please, if you have any ideas on how to make the guild a better place, POST. But please, keep your posts intelligent, and respectful.

Once this has been talked over enough, I believe, a select group of active, intelligent guild members should get together to decided which changes will be put in place. But that will only happen if you guys are serious about this.

Now, discuss~

Mayb a thread or subforum to deal with issues you have with another guild member? that way it doesnt become a huge issue while you sit there and get angry at them, it can be delt with in a 'safe' environment eg. have strong rules inplace and a certain mod moniters the thread?

i vote for something where you can pm someone, (or a specific mule for this purpose) that you can complain about a person, and we have a list of people that have been complained about, and give ideas of things they can do to not piss people off? But no one knows whose saying what, so you cant place the blame and less drama? (it can be tweeked, but thats the basic idea)

Or, you could do the mature and responsible thing; which would be to PM that person yourself, and respectively work out your differences. And if push comes to shove; you have an ignore list for a reason.

when its personal, it tends to get ugly, when you dont know who it is, who can you get mad at? No one O:

Then you just simply ask another guild member, privately, "Hey who is that guy?"

I just think that if it was less personal, people wouldn't take as much offence, reducing the drama that is put in.
For example:
If I came up to you and I said you talk too much, you would know I said it, and youd hate me from then on cause I think your annoying

But if you read the "forum" or you get a msg from the mule, you can't hate anyone, and you just learn from it?

Just a suggestion, doesn't have to be used.

I don't seem to understand where you're coming from. Personally, I'd rather have the person that has the beef to contact me directly; but that's just me. I foresee it causing more drama because then you get unintelligent people purposefully doing the annoying things so they can lure the annoyed out but really it'll annoy everyone and the wrong person gets blamed which causes even more drama.

We complain about people making threads that already exist and such, but you went ahead and did it. I do value your suggestions, Im not sober right now but I will carefully read them when I wake up tomorrow, but this stuff should really be in the suggestion thread...
