High School requires conformity. I tried, and I just can't do it. I don't mean the kids. I mean waking up at 6am!
I've mentioned before I have a medical issue. I need to miss school more often. With a chronic autoimmune disease, I'm gonna get sick a lot. And when I get sick, I stay sick. That's only half the problem. My entire life I've had chronic insomnia. Suggest sleeping pills and I'll kill you. For 16 years I've been trying to take pills, doesn't work. The school doesn't get this. This entire school year I've been yelled a for beig sick or being unable to wake up. The Vice Principal even threatened to come to my house to wake me up or call DSS and claim my parents were neglecting me.
I'm done with this s**t. This school sucks too much to bother with anyway.
For drop outs, there's a program in a nearby community college that allows you get a diploma and your Associate's Degree. There's also a nearby night school where I can get a diploma. It's hours are 2:30pm to 9pm, which is something I could handle. 'Cept all my friends are at the shitty high school...when they get out of school I'll be starting school.
I'll only have the weekends to see my friends. Or go to family parties. Or see my boyfriend.

A person using logic would say friends shouldn't have anything to do with this. If your education is being harmed by school hours and you have a way to fix it, by all means do it. Your school sounds like it's run by idiots, no offense. Have you given someone at school a doctor's note explaining your condition?
But as a reasonable person, it would be really tough to leave your friends and family and boyfriend behind. It would be difficult to go to a different school and completely start over, without friends or anyone you know.
I'm split. Have you talked to your friends, family, and boyfriend about your decision?

I'm talking to my boyfriend about it now. We both hate the idea so I'm looking into other alternatives schools but apparently the entire state of Massachusetts wants me to to comform. -_-
The community college thing is looking kinda good right now,but it doesn't give out a schedule and there's a chance I don't get accepted to it.

That.... Really sucks. I would say take online classes, but I'm not too sure about them. One person tells me one thing, another tells me something else.

I suggest home schooling. You should at least read this site before you decide, www.homeschoolinginmassachusetts.com/oh yes and present the idea to your parents. As far as your health is concerned try to minimize contact with chemicals, a very hard undertaking.

When you go to public school you have to buy your books right? So it's pretty much the same thing except: 1. You choose the books 2. You don't have to deal with the idiotic teachers that it sounds like you have Homeschooling is great also because you get to choose what hours to do school, so you could easily get up around 10 and do all your school work before your friends get out of school. (I was homeschooled and I loved it, it's great) If you want online classes here's a good site Online HighschoolI took some classes from the Utah Electronic High School (UEHS) and it was a pretty good program. 3nodding and I think that this site is the same except for the people that don't live in Utah.

And again, I need to be around people. If I'm not around people enough I tend to lose it a bit.

So actually if you buy the books used, depending on what books you choose, it could be relatively inexpensive. As for people... I really don't know what to say there. When I was homeschool I had three sisters homeschooled at the same time... so I never really had to be alone. Could you maybe convince some of your friends/siblings to switch to homeschooling with you? That way you could form a study group... or if you just need people to talk to while you study then you could do the online classes and at the same time post in forums. If you didn't look at it you should at least look at the online site... I think It'd really help with the school problem. And I'm assuming that both your parents work so they wouldn't be around to help with school? If you absolutely can't study without people being around and no friends to do homeschooling with then I guess just do what you said in the 1st post and go to the community college.

There are forms of online schoolinbg with people. Example my online schooling which I dropped from had chat rooms for the students to talk to each other. Also the classes were posted in other chat rooms withere if you miss the lesson you just go through the teachers feed then do a small work sheet. taking 15 minutes tops. :3 I have no idea why you want to be around people though. Then again im a loner. xD
