~The Lobby~
Upon entry from the real world into the Mayonaka TV World, if one enters through the large flat-screen television in the Junes Electronics Department, they will arrive in what has been dubbed the 'Lobby'. Generally clear of shadows, thanks to the occasional visits from Teddie, the Lobby is the one area of the Mayonaka TV World considered safe at all times, where the Investigation Team can get acclimated to the world and prepare for the missions ahead of them.

 Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
Upon touching down onto the floor of the Mayonaka TV Lobby, it didn't take long for the feeling of malevolence to return to the silver-haired Senior that he had become so accustomed to a year prior. It was a foreboding, oppressive feeling that weighed down on both your mind and your body, and eventually, it would fatigue those who weren't used to it in a manner that couldn't quite be explained. And yet...there was something different about it this time. It was thinner now than it had been before, and the yellow fog that had clouded their vision was a thin white, instead. What was really puzzling, though, was that the fog wasn't supposed to be here at all! The world had reverted into a paradise with the defeat of Izanami, but now...the world that they had stepped back into was just as radical and dangerous as the one that they had been in before. Or was it...? Sighing, he shook his head. This was only the first area of the TV World, anyway...so maybe it wasn't enough to get a good cross-section on the whole place. Regathering his concentration after pushing back his surprise, he glanced over his shoulder to Teddie and gave the brave little bear a nod of confidence.
"Something is definitely going on in here. That much, we know for sure, now," he muttered calmly, noting that seeing the familiar 'stage' of the lobby around him did nothing to put him at ease, as maybe it should have, "Teddie, start with Rednal. If you can catch his scent, then we know that he ended up in here, somehow. That has to be our first priority." Once they had a location, if he was in here, they could take off to the dungeon and find their target to pull him from the television. And once everyone inside was safe, they could begin to decipher what it meant that the TV World seemed to be reverting to a more perverse, dark shape than the Paradise they had achieved. Was it isolated to just a few areas, or...was it a growing phenomenon? So many questions needed answered, but they could only handle one at a time. First Rednal. Then, if they were lucky, they would still have time to look into some other questions before things got heavy, again...if they got heavy again, at all.

Teddie Mayonaka TV: Lobby Teddie sighed sadly "Okay Sensei..." He began to walk around and sniff the air for Rednal's scent. He wandered around the lobby as he searched, "I dont know if- Huh!?" Just as he started to speak, he caught something.

Kanji watched as Teddie began to sniff around reverting back to his large teddie bear self as Kanji stared at his warm fur he knew it wasn't the right time so he stopped himself from asking, but he would ask again very soon, but held off on asking to touch the rather small teddie bears fur, he stopped and looked around awaiting a response from the group ready to follow their every move...

 Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
Soji Seta was pessimistic by nature. Whenever there were two outcomes in a situation, he always tended to expect that the least desirable of them was coming to him. In spite of that, in some corner of his mind, he must have still been holding out hope that this situation wasn't going to turn out like all the others...that the TV World and all the strange coincidences were just that...a coincidence. But when Teddie's nose caught wind of something off in the middle of the TV World again, a sense of dread...something akin to deja vu came over him, and to be honest, he hadn't been ready for it at all. His hand slid to his forehead and he felt a sense of despair wash over him, but as quickly as it came he pushed it aside and stepped forward, standing next to the little bear as strong as ever. The team needed him to be strong going forward into the unknown, and so he was going to be strong. "Which direction do you smell something from, Teddie?" he asked simply, not wanting to mince words when they had a job to do. "Is it Rednal? If it is, let's get him out of here as soon as possible," he decided out loud, "we can worry about what else is going on in here after we make sure everyone is safe..."

Teddie Mayonaka TV: Lobby Teddie put a strong but stern look on his face "Right! It's over that way!" Teddie pointed down one of the walkways leading away from the lobby, "I can smell him faintly but, that was never there before, I'm sure of it!" He looked at Souji and gave a nod that said 'Lets do this!'

 Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
Nodding once, Soji wasted no time moving to the front of the team alongside Teddie, pulling out his trademark sword and sliding his glasses onto the bridge of his nose. He wasn't at all pleased that they were heading back out of the frying pan and into the fryer, but what else could they do? If someone was locked inside of this wicked world, and they were the only ones with the power to save him, he didn't have any other choice but to go inside and save them. Never had he been the type of person who would abandon friends in need, or even anybody in need. Hell, they had gone inside the TV to pull out Mitsuo Kubo, Taro Namatame, and even pulled out Tohru Adachi, hadn't they? Whatever they were going to face inside this world this time, they were going to pull Rednal Ak'Thias out of it, just the same way they had saved everyone else. And as the team began down the pathway from the stage in the direction of the newest hole that a friend of theirs had managed to fall down into, he was sure that they were also tying up a lifeline up which they would climb when the mission was over. Back in the center of the stage, he left the weapons and accessories he had gathered for Yosuke and Rise, aimed in towards the direction they were going. If they followed the path, it should lead them in the direction they were heading...and when they got to the end, hopefully the team wouldn't be too far inside to catch up. Because he wouldn't suggest running through a dungeon on your own to anybody.

Chie followed Souji, still wondering where Yosuke and Rise were. She slid on her yellow glasses, and her greaves. She wouldn't be caught off guard by the shadows. She was pumped to get to come back, and fight again.

Kanji continued to follow the group as he lifted his own pair of glasses from his pocket and placed them over his eyes as he continued to eye teddie's fur wanting badly to pet him, but knowing that he couldn't, he continued to walk behind him following the scent of Rednal as he continued to wonder just how this rednal guy would be doing...

 Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
Stepping out into the thick air of the world inside of the TV, the first thing that the silverette noticed was that the fog was still somewhat thin, like it had been when they came to rescue Rednal and unlike when they had come into the TV World for their Investigations before. Sliding his glasses onto the bridge of his nose, he had a clear view of the 'scaffolding' around them, surrounding them, and leading off into the different directions of the strange domain. He couldn't feel that the world had grown any different from the last time they were here, but the very fact that the Lobby existed was enough to tell him that this place was still perverted by some unknown variable. The Paradise they had saved was shrinking and shrinking, and soon, he wasn't sure if the entire TV World wouldn't return to the way it had been before. But that was why they were here...to stop it. Long fingers slide inside of the large duffel bag he carried and with his hands he produced a light armor, his usual sword, and enough healing and status items to fill his coat pockets to a comfortable level. If they had an Investigation into another shadow realm, he was going to go fully prepared...and so were his teammates. He motioned for each of them to collect their portion of the items and any of the remaining armors and weapons he had sneaked into Junes in the bag as they came into the World behind him, and then once Rise and Teddie made it inside, he motioned for them to step up beside him.
"Remember what I told you about Kazuma and Minori earlier?" he asked rhetorically, having faith that they had remembered the lunchtime briefing enough that he wouldn't need to recap, "I want you two to use your powers and that knowledge to scan for the two of them. As soon as you find anything, let me know...and we'll go from there."

Chie came into the familair foggy area, and slipped her glasses back on. She took her fair share of the medical items, armor, and her greaves, which she put on excitedly. She waited, patiently to see if as they thought there were two seperate dungeons, or just one big one. If there were two dungeons, then they would have to split up. Thing was, what teams would there be? Who would be joining who? If it came to that, then she figured that she should be on a different team than Teddie, since they both had ice skills. But.....Teddie wasn't very much for physical attacks, and he still took lightning damage pretty hard.... Well, if it came to that, she would trust her leader to divide them intelligently.

Pulling her glasses on, Rise gave the area a quick glance. It seemed like before, on their last expedition. Noticing Soji's motion, she stood beside him and nodded.
She closed her eyes, summoning her persona and scanned for who might feel like how the two were described. It took her a moment, but she had found them. "One is over that way," she pointed out, then moved to the other direction. "And the other is that way."
Opening her eyes and watching her persona disappear, she frowned. "They're close, but not too close together. How would you like to do this, Senpai?"

 Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader
He was right. Rise's persona confirmed his earlier suspicions that these two had also fallen victim to the same form of kidnapping as Rednal, and even further, confirmed what he had feared in that the dungeons were separate from one another. It was an extremely uncomfortable dilemma, which meant that he was probably going to have to do something with the team that he had never forced them to do since the outset of their Investigations. And the uncertainty was enough to make even him nervous. Still, two lives were at stake, and they couldn't risk losing either one of them to this new peril, which meant that he didn't have any other choice but to do it. Soji was silent for a moment after Rise asked him how he wanted to proceed, turning around to appraise his group with his clouded eyes while choosing the best course of action. How should he do this? Who could do this? Even now, everybody was depending on him, but with this...falling back on him wasn't going to be an option. The Senior thought, eyes shifting from one team member to another as he contemplated his next move. There was only one way to do this...only one path which he could trust fully. And with a heaving sigh, he took the first step and began doing the math inside his head.
"No choice...we have to split up," the Leader informed them, knowing that would probably draw a few nervous glances from his teammates. But there really was no other way to make headway on two areas at once, without taking too much time and putting one or the other of the victims at risk. The only question now was logistics. Each group needed a support, which mean Rise and Teddie had to go in opposite directions, and it also made sense to divide Chie and Teddie, since they were both skilled hand-to-hand with plenty of ice magic. But it also made sense to split Yukiko and Teddie, since they had the strongest healing spells out of all of them...which put him at a bit of an impasse. Splitting Kanji and Chie seemed to make sense as well, since they were the two strongest physical attackers he had [with the possible exceptions of Teddie and himself], and both could take a beating if necessary. He hadn't realized how hard it would be to make the best choices in this situation! But his confident gaze never wavered, as he began to name off the teams one after another. "I'm going to lead the first team, with Teddie as my support. I won't need as much assistance as the other team leader, since I'm used to this...and since Teddie can fight a bit too, I'm going to need him. The rest of my team will be Kanji for physical attacks, and Naoto for her magic. And as for the second team..." he paused, scanning the group one last time before letting his eyes fall on whom he felt was the only choice he could make in this situation.
"Partner...I'm trusting this to you," he told the shaggy-haired Senior, putting a hand on his shoulder for a moment to instill in him some of his own confidence. "Rise will be your support, with Chie, Yukiko, and Rednal as your main team," he decided finally, rattling off the first team, "the four of you will go to the left [Clock Tower] dungeon and begin exploring immediately. But don't push yourselves too hard...take a couple of Goho-M's and use Rise's Certain Escape to stay away from a battle if you think you can't win. We'll try to finish our part as fast as possible...so if you don't think you can defeat the shadow, wait for me. I'll come as soon as I can." It wasn't a necessary warning, really, because they all knew what they were getting themselves into. Still, he would rather they pull back and wait for him if things got too dicey, as opposed to pushing too far ahead without the experience in leading the charge and getting strung out, injured, or even worse...defeated. Glancing back at Yosuke, he nodded once. "I believe in you," he assured him, before stepping over to Rise and standing by her side, facing off into the opposite direction. He knew this wasn't easy for either of them, splitting up...she was his support, and he always wanted to be there to protect her...but this was the best move he could think of for the team.
"Take care of them in my place," he told her simply, wishing them all one final bit of luck before stepping up onto the scaffolding that would lead them to the dungeon his team would tackle. He looked back only once, motioning for his team of Kanji, Naoto, and Teddie to follow. "Everyone, take care. Now let's just do this like always..."
With that, the first team departed towards the Bloody Path to Heaven, leaving the Clock Tower behind to the others. He only hoped that when he returned, that both teams would be waiting...safe and sound.Quote: Team 1: Soji, Naoto, Kanji, and Teddie, are heading to the Bloody Path to Heaven.
Team 2: Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Rednal (maybe), and Rise are heading to the Clock Tower.
