~Samegawa Flood Plain~

A prime fishing destination often used for picnics, romantic meetings, and other purposes near the Samegawa River, the Flood Plain fills with water during the monsoons in order to prevent the flood from reaching the residential and other districts. Many people use the Flood Plain for different reasons, though, and its location along the road between the Residential Districts and Yasogami High make it a popular place to stop or visit while en route to the city or school for students and citizens alike.

Several small gazebos line the plain, and a few small docks still play host to fishermen young and old who are in search of the "King". Who knows what interesting things you may stumble upon on the Flood Plain?

Samegawa Food plain, River Bed

Kou was sitting on a rock, dipping his tired feet into the running water. the breeze was just as soothing, he had never felt so... bored.

"what is there to do around here?? This place is so boring! I might as well go home!"

From the corner of his eye he saw an old man walking up to him with a fishing rod. he was wearing a blue polo and tan pants which seemed faded. "for an old guy he must get out a lot", kou thought.

"Hey son, I heard you are looking for something to do - so I thought I'd better came an tell ya that you aren't lookin' very hard... I was gonna talk about the old days, but I know how you kids get when old people like us brag about things like that..."

Kou had wondered where this was going... but remained silent as the man began talking again.

"I have something for you. It's a rod I got for my grandson, but he left after all the ruckus 'bout the deadly gas a while back. I was waiting for the opportunity to give it to someone ever since - you know, I would use it, but my bones aren't as strong as they used to be. besides, I think you'll be able to put it to good use."

Kou took the rod, he felt he couldn't say no to him.

"Thank you, sir." said kou. the old man nodded and walked away.

The girl walked through the plains, looking for a place to sit. She found a small bench, sitting down. She observed the running water of the river, giving a sigh. The scene just made her feel melancholic. Minori shook her head, taking a small book from her school bag. She might as well begin reading the novel from school, since she had nothing better to do.

Kazuma walked through the plains, looking for a place to smoke. Luckily there was a bench for him to sit and relax, sitting on the bench he popped a cig in his mouth. Noticing a shadow next to him he turn to face the person. "Hey mind if Ii....." before he could complete it he notice that the person next to him was known other than his sister Minori. Before she could turn Kazuma took the cig out of his mouth, took his pack and lighter out of his pocket and threw them into the river. The three items swept away along with the small current of the river. Sighing in relief he returned to sitting next to Minori.

Being absorbed on her book, she payed no attention to the presence sitting next to her. She listened to him talk still her eyes on her book, but when the man didn't continue talking, she looked up from her book. "Excuse me, I didn't hear the last part..."
Minori arched an eyebrow, thinking how ironic the world could be. Just beside her sat her brother, Kazuma. "Oh...hi." she mumbled, making a small fold on the page she stayed on. She placed the book aside, knowing this would be a long talk. Though, she didn't want to lecture him, so she decided to let him talk first.

Soon the awkward silence began, Kazuma didn't know what to say to his big siter. For all he knew Minori was still upset with him, still he decided to set things right with his sister. After all Minori was the only person besides some children that actually apperciated him for who he was, and he did not want to ruin that. "Thats all you have to say, come on you should be saying something more on the lines of 'Kazuma-nii hiii, how is my most awesome brother in the history of brothers?'" he said to her trying to make her laugh.

A smile appeared on Minori's face, listening to Kazuma talking. Really, it was hard to stay angry with him for long. "Oh, but otouto-chaaan ~~ You are the only brother I have." she said between giggles.
But the laughter died rapidly, as the blonde returned to her silent composure. Wild thoughts still roamed through her brain, and after a short silence, she began talking again. "Ne, Kazuma...Is it really true you tried to beat that kid up?" she finally asked, gazing at him with big green eyes. "And I want the truth."

[Samegawa Flood Plain]

Making his way to the Flood Plain after leaving Junes Shikari wanted to go here before heading back home. He didn't know why but this was his favorite place to be. One thing he liked about Inaba was that it wasn't so noisy like the city, and at least people seemed friendlier around here. Still though, making friends was still a very weird thing to him. As he walked near the railing of the Flood Plain he then noticed two other people here who seemed to be talking, and he noticed that it was Minori and Kazuma. Not walking on anymore he didn't want to get caught up on whatever was going on. It was between siblings anyway so might as well leave it at that. Leaning against the railing near the river below he just looked down at the river below.

Kazuma chuckled awe well when Minori made that little comment. He always had a good time whenever he was with Minori, Now it was time to get serious again. When she wanted the truth he was scared to tell her that truth. He thought of the things Minori would do to him when he told her the truth, the first thought was Minori smacking his head hard creating a lump. Next was Minori telling him that she doesn't want anything to do with him as a brother and left him for dead. The last thought was Minori getting so angry she turned into a monster and then Kazuma ahd to transform into Kamen Rider Kabuto, but that was when his imagination went to far. "Well, I just have a short temper, but but I apologized to him."

Satoru found himself sitting alone under one of the gazebos of the Flood Plains listening to the music on his portable player one of the headphones not on his ear, so he could eavesdrop if he wished and watch the passing people, he sighed to himself remaking "The first day as a transfer is always the worst...can't get worse"

Satoru looked around "nothing going on here I guess I'll check out that department store, Junes or wheatever" He snapped his other headphone on and started walking to Junes

Kou was having a lot more fun than he thought, he'd never thought fishing was just right for him. He loved to watch the river flow and the trees around him sway peacefully in the wind. now he can feel like he has a reason to be relaxed, waiting for the fish to bite... Kou was watching two people talk to each other on the other side of the river, and wondered what they were talking about. He also saw children playing around a small red and white gazebo. all of a sudden, something started to tug on the line! it was frantic, quickly dashing from side to side, but kouzaku managed to reel the fish in. I was a Inaba trout, nothing too special. Kou seemed content, and decided to go home.

[Samegawa Flood Plain]

Having zoned out for some time for being lost in thought Shikari shook his head as he looked around. It was evening. "Damn. Its late...Lets hope I get lucky..." He thought to himself before stretching himself out. Picking up his backpack he hadn't been at home all day so he had been lugging the thing around everywhere, especially with Hikaru having dragging him around from place to place. Throwing his bag over his shoulder he began to walk away from the Flood Plain, and luckily for him his house wasn't too far from here either. At least he wouldn't be too late, but then again his parents might not even be home if he gets lucky again.

It was getting dark and Kazuma was getting drowsy. Looking at his sister he grabbed her hand and stood up. "Come on Minori-nee we need to get home or else our parents will worry about you." he said to her with a pleasant smile. Pulling her sister up the two walked back towards their home for a good night rest

Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader

It was too much of a coincidence, wasn't it? Sure, it had been foggy out last night, and he could have sworn he saw two figures on the Midnight Channel when his inability to sleep kept him awake into the wee hours of the morning. But there were too many inconsistencies for this to make sense. First of all, and obviously, Izanami was dead. With the power of Myriad Truths and Izanagi-no-Okami, he had sealed the devious Goddess and prevented the rise of the shadows and the fog from returning to Inaba. Second, the fog last night had been different from the fog that Ameno-sagiri had created from within the TV World that crept out into reality. It was thinner, less oppressive, so even if there had been something on the Midnight Channel, it was too soon for the victim to turn up in the real world dead. And third, when victims appeared on the Midnight Channel, you could always see the victim clearly at least once before they were attacked and killed by the shadows. So everything about this particular incident screamed out at him that it was a coincidence. By the rules that they had operated during the last incident, it was simply impossible for this one to have any relation to the Mayonaka TV World, the shadows, or the Midnight Channel at all. And there was nothing to indicate that it was linked to them, either.

...Except for the feeling in the pit of his stomach. The eerie sense of deja vu he felt at waking up to the sound of police sirens on his second day of school, and the foreboding feeling throughout the town. On the way to the Riverbed he had already heard the whispers of the townspeople, mentioning this incident and the others in the same breath, and he hadn't even made it down there to find out what had happened. Somehow, though, he knew...he knew without seeing, without asking, that something awful had happened. Breakfast was silent as he, Nanako, and Teddie ate omelets and prepared for school, packing their lunches and heading off towards the Floodplain. Near the riverbank, he kissed Nanako's forehead...something he rarely did unless he was worried...and sent her off to school, watching her back until she was completely out of sight. Then, with the little blond at his side, he began down towards the riverbank along the walk towards his school, listening tot he sounds of sirens as he drew closer and closer to the scene of the crime. It came into sight a fair distance away from the school, near the road leading down towards the Amagi Inn, and when he spotted his Uncle's new car in the distance he was unnerved a little...maybe a bit more than he would have let on.

'Just like Mayumi Yamano,' he thought as he looked out towards the mass of police and medical personnel scrambling about, working the crime scene with expert precision. He wanted to go down and see what was the matter, but he didn't. They wouldn't let a high school kid close enough to see what had taken place, anyway, and he wasn't about to press his luck with his uncle openly, knowing how dangerous that had turned out during last year's mysteries. His fingers slid into his pocket and traced the outline of his phone idly, and he wondered if any of the others had heard about what happened down there. Was it a random murder? Or was it...? 'I'm thinking too much,' he sighed as he finally pulled his eyes away from the scene, his feet padding slowly...very slowly...down the walk towards his school. He was sure this incident would be the topic of the day at Yasogami High. What Soji Seta didn't know was that he had managed to hit the nail directly, almost too directly on the head. A fact he would learn very clearly at the morning assembly.

Samegawa Food Plain, Riverbed

As he began to walk home, he had second thoughts about the trout he just caught. Besides, he never really liked fish, and he really didn't want to eat the one he just caught... He didn't know what to do. he stood at the top of the steps looking around wondering what to do - when he saw the old man again...

"hey, its my friend from before, and I see you have caught yourself a genji ayu! very nice!"

"huh.. It's a Genji Ayu? I thought it was a trout. Well, I've never been the sort of person who likes to go fishing... figures."

I forgot to say this earlier, but if you don't want to keep the fish, I'm always willing to trade. for that fish I guess it would get you this...

The old man pulled a key out of his pocket, and gave it to kou. It had a gold shine to it, and looked very old fashioned - yet it looked as good as new. He wondered what it opened...

"It doesn't really have a use to me anymore, I only kept it because I thought it would be worth something. But I value things that have purpose, you know? well, I'll be seeing you around, I suppose. goodbye."

The old man left, leaving Kou alone again. He thought maybe he should look for a pawn shop to see how much it was worth... for now, going home can wait.
