Unfortunately for Ѐdes, Shadai had to work that day and left Arytiss in charge. Now that Cody was older and less prone to steal things, she hadn't felt it necessary to call up a babysitter. Yet, that meant the far less friendly female had to answer the phone and deal with the toddler with her usual, grumpy attitude.

"Hello, you've reached the freaks galore household, where not only do children take your stuff, but they hide it as well. If you're a telemarketer, I suggest you hang up the damned phone before I punch your face in. So, who the bloody hell is calling and why the ******** are you still listening to me?" the female answered coldly, sounding more like an extremely rude answering machine than someone actually answering the phone.

Cody, however, was up in his room and unable to hear the conversation at all. If he had, things might have... been a lot better. Especially if the child had known it was Ѐdes calling and asking to come over.

Arytiss stared at the phone for a moment. "Cody? Oh, right, the brat. Hold it, one second," she replied, then set the phone down and turned to shout up the stairs. "BRAT! Some kid is coming over! Put some damned clothes on and pick up your damned toys before I melt them and make you eat them!"

Startled, Cody wandered out of his room and partway down the stairs. "Who's coming over?" he asked the white haired female quietly, sighing as she shrugged. "Doesn't matter, does it?" she replied, then picked up the phone. "Yeah, come over if you want. The brat doesn't care," she replied finally, ignoring Cody's glare as she called him a brat.

Yet, there was little he could do to stop her without Shadai around. Ary was powerful, and he stood no chance in making her do anything without striking a deal first. So, the hybrid started picking up his things off the floor and putting them away as the elder one had told him to.

Once again, Arytiss was the one to answer. Yet this time, instead of the phone, it was the door. Flinging the door open, the female glared at the two for a moment before turning aside. Fortunately, Cody had ran to the door as well to save Ary from yelling again. "Ѐdes!" the child exclaimed, grinning excitedly at seeing his new friend.

"And you're his guardian, right?" Arytiss asked coolly, looking Noel over for a moment. Sighing, the female figured she might as well be nice while the kid and his father were around. "Want something to drink?" she asked, wondering just how Cody managed to find so many other kids from the facility he came from. Perhaps there were more wandering around than she realized.

Cody looked rather upset by how Ѐdes flat out refused that it was him. Did he honestly look that much different than before? "Ѐ-Ѐdes... It IS Cody. I am him, I just grew..." he muttered, sitting down near the toddler, wondering if Ѐdes would ever realize it WAS him.

"I'm Arytiss, nice to meet you. Shadai is at work for another... Meh, few hours. She's generally home around six. What kind of drink would you like? Probably have a bit of everything here," the female replied, surprised at how polite the male was and ended up doing the same out of old habit. "So, what's your name?" she asked, glancing at Cody and forcing back a small scowl. He looked absolutely miserable, as if the other had flat out rejected him. Making the child miserable was her job, not that of a mere toddler...

Cody sighed and wondered just how he was supposed to get Ѐdes to believe it really was him. "Ѐdes, are you saying that there is another child that looks EXACTLY like me, but smaller, somewhere? That I couldn't grow this much in a night, even though we're part demon 'nd angel and grow far quicker than humans?" he asked, despairing a bit. He didn't want to lose his friend because he grew a bit.

Arytiss merely nodded, thinking for a moment on where the tea had to be... Wait, didn't she make up some iced tea yesterday? "I'm guessing iced tea will do, then," she replied, then gestured to the couch. "You can sit. Be back in a moment," she replied, wandering into the kitchen and violently jerking the fridge's door open. Pouring both Noel and herself a cup, the pitcher was placed back into the cold depths of the fridge and the female returned to the living room, handing Noel his cup. "Here, I wonder what's wrong with the br-I mean, Cody and Ѐdes..." she muttered, taking a drink and watching the two intensely, as if they could lash out at any moment.

Cody sighed and reached into his shirt, pulling out the necklace that was hidden beneath it. "Right here. I almost never take it off," he replied, smiling sadly. He hoped it was enough to change the toddlers mind on him not being who he said he was.

"Ah. I have to admit, it was... strange waking up and finding th-Cody sitting at the table, eating breakfast and having grown a foot overnight," Arytiss replied, trying hard to remain polite and refrain from using her nickname for Cody and how she actually described finding him suddenly grown. Then being asked to find a shirt for him to wear. THAT in itself was a pain in the a**.

Cody blushed a bit out of surprise as the toddler suddenly nuzzled him, yet was extremely glad that he finally figured out that it was still him. Losing a friend would have... royally sucked, to say the least. "Well, what do you want to play? Have enough toys lying around, or we could color. Maybe a board game?" he suggested, grinning and starting to stand, surprised at how small the other was. It was strange to think that, less than a week ago he had been that small.

Arytiss nodded, knowing that next time they would be prepared as well. "Good idea, lest you end up dragging him around in his underwear," she muttered, looking a bit relieved as the two hybrids finally calmed down. Screaming, crying children was far more annoying than happy ones, it seemed. Not only that, but they were a LOT louder. Ugh.
