Okay, so, there is going to be a Doctor Who appearence on Sarah Jane Adventures in September. It will be a two-part special. Some people may think, didn't he meet up with Sarah Jane at the end of last series? Nothing much... BUT That was Doctor Who series. This is Sarah Jane series. So, it will be with kids, who will meet the Doctor. I also cannot wait for this because I think Luke and Clyde will adore the Doctor. Doctor and Clyde - Wit Doctor and Luke - Clever.
Also, I am praying that Jenny will make a return BEFORE the new Doctor, because, the new doctor is incredibly young, and she is older, so it would look like "Young dad much?". AND (Yes, there is more!) for Torchwood this is. At the end of the last episode, last season. Mickey and Martha, walked off with Captain Jack, AND, Captain Jack, recently lost two of his team members (Owen and Tosh) I was really hoping for another Torchwood thing, where Mickey and Martha and Jack and Gwen and Ianto would be all together. Am I hoping too much? I am incredibly sad about David Tennant leaving, he has been my favourite Doctor yet. And I am sad about Russel T Davies leaving because, this cast and crew of Doctor who, has won loads of awards, and has over taken Eastenders (best british soap) in number of viewers, so I am sad, that it won't be as good that the last...Doctor series.

Oh hey wait what? He's going to show up on SJA?
I think I remember an interview saying otherwise, but hey, no complaints if they change their minds.

Yeah, they both did work for torchwood at one point. This new season will definitely be better. Although RTD brought back doctor who, ... Rhinos on the moon? SM's stories were MUCH better! IMO that is

PetitEspoir I heard it was definite *crosses fingers* It is. Tennant's in two episodes of the next season of SJA. There's also a new seven-episode animated series with the Tenth Doctor out in autumn, and three Torchwood audio plays on Radio Four as a prequel to Children of Earth. That's a lot of Doctor Who, even if you're not following any of the novels, comics or Big Finish audios. And Davies has been hinting that there's something else this year that we don't know about yet.

knightofthe21stcentury Although RTD brought back doctor who, ... Rhinos on the moon? SM's stories were MUCH better! IMO that is Fair do's. Though Moffat thinks the opposite... Steven Moffat talking about the 'Rhinos on the Moon' episode... Anyone who's interested in writing should study that script - it's one of the most technically brilliant scripts you'll ever get your hands on. The construction of it is dazzling, and yet - and this is the REALLY dazzling part - it's designed to feel light and airy and simple. And for that dim-witted reason, people think it IS simple. It's not, it's incredible. Look, what's folded away in all that gorgeous froth. A new main character, whole and complete - an old friend within minutes. Her entire background and family, all there for us, perfectly clear. And while all that’s going on, AT THE SAME TIME, a hospital gets stolen and taken to the (bloody) moon. All this in under ten minutes! And never mind all that, the entire format of the entire show is explained and sold to a brand new audience. Stunning. But - and this what makes your blood boil - because it's made to LOOK easy, idiots and critics think it IS easy. Try it! Go on, get yer pen, TRY it. Thing is, I get a lot of praise for the complexity of Blink, and quite bloody right too. But because I know what I'm talking about, I can tell you as a matter of FACT, that Smith And Jones is WAY more complex. But because Blink wears its complexity on its sleeve, cos that was kind of the point, Smith And Jones conceals it, cos it's a means to an end. Really and truly, Smith And Jones, go study. And if you don't think it's brilliant, shut up until you understand that it is.

Micky and Martha would be good alternatives since Tosh and Owen are gone. They would fit the roles wonderfully. That would be fun to watch on Torchwood.

*shrugs* A lot of aliens throughout science fiction are based on life forms here on Earth that we know. The Kzin are big sabertooth tigers in space. The Mon Calimari are squid-headed aliens. The Hokas are bears...TEDDY bears, actually. mrgreen

knightofthe21stcentury It's not the script or complexity, it's the ridiculous idea. The ridiculous idea is, and this may be the sort of thing Moffat's talking about when he tells people to go away and study until they understand it, part of the script and part of its complexity. A MENTAL idea performs a different function in a script to a Serious Grown-Up SF idea. Smith and Jones is a story about a woman who goes into work one day and has something totally implausible happen to her. The whole balance of the script is broken if you come along and say, "Hey! That 'something totally implausible'...how about we make it something sensible instead?"

In other news, the mirror said that Doctor Who will be in BBC Children in Need Special, in a 15 minute "11 doctors" episode, using recycled archive material for the first 3 doctors. After a bit of research it turned out to be not true.
