Private RP between Uzi (ladyumbra) & Kaosu ( count Kaosu) Location: Wastelands, Burned-Out Warehouse? Time: late evening Weather: cloudless, moonlit, chilly.
The atmosphere within Eli's home was stifling, too many people, talking too much and far too much emotion flowing between them. Uzi did not like abandoning it's owner but the essentic was of no use to him right now anyways. Besides there were many things the proto's mind and it needed time and space to think them through.
Which was how the armored being ended up in the wasetlands again, not really hunting but prowling around and scaring the local wildlife with it's frequent low distressed rumbles. Uzi's dimly glowing yellow eyes only showed any real brightly and life when the essentic picked up a familiar scent. Kaosu was perhaps not the most positive acquaintance Uzi had made but the proto had been interested in him and Eli had not express forbid the hunter from seeking him out.
Tracking him was easy enough and it was with only mild wariness that the tawny coloured paused upon reached an old run down and burnt out warehouse.

For some reason, Kaosu always retreated to this dump of a warehouse. The place reeked of ash and soot. The building was crumbling with decades of decay. The empty, damaged halls teemed with an eerie silence. It was almost like a graveyard. As foreboding as the old bottling plant was, here the redhead felt comfortable and peaceful.
Perhaps that had something to do with his cats? He had an uncanny love for the creatures, and every time he stumbled on a pitiful stray his conscience would not let him leave it behind. He always brought them to this dreary setting, where they thrived on mice and water from the broken tanks in the basement. He had assembled quite a collection of them over the years.
Kao rested lazily on the steps of the facility's entrance, watching the moon on the horizon with mild interest. Spotting movement, he tensed. He always grew nervous when someone stumbled on his ruin. Wary, he leap to his feet and padded towards Uzi, wondering what kind of creature dared disturb him tonight.

Uzi wondered perhaps if Eli had been right about this man, at least a dozen cats lived here, by the smell of it and the essentic recalled that crazy people sometimes hoarded animals. Then again Kaosu might merely enjoy surrounding himself with other predators, ones easily tamed. For the moment Uzi remained still letting the demon catch sight of it, the combat proto meant no harm right now and figured it was best to show that by letting Kaosu come to it.

Crazy. Huh. That was a strange notion, but deep down it might not exactly have been far off. Kaosu was already planning out how to dispose of this unlucky visitor before he even bothered to determine who it was. Fortunately, Uzi kept still. As a result, when he spotted her, the ever-paranoid demon did not raise his guard.
How strange. This was the... Combat Essentic from before? What was she doing out here? Instinctively he glanced around, looking for Eli and Kell. They were nowhere to be found. "To what do I owe this pleasure...?" he began, clearly suspicious.

"I want to continue the conversation from before" Uzi explained tail flicking back and forth as the essentic spoke. " I want to be better than those who died in the Hunt." If anything ever happened, if Uzi's generation of essentics were somehow revealed to the public the hunter did not want to die easily defending itself or Eli. Though Uzi's own pride was at stake as well and the proto was not meant to body guard the essentic did not like the idea of it's owner.. it's bonded being hurt nevermind dying.

"The conversation from before? You mean you want to know more about killing Essentics?" Kaosu replied incredulously. What a strange little feline. This one definitely behaved... differently from the others of its generation he had encountered. Unsure whether he wanted to humor the thing or not, he crossed his arms stubbornly. "Why should I help you? The way that owner of yours treated me, I'm not exactly inclined to teach you anything."

Uzi gave a soft rumble that could have been a sigh " It is not that I wish to hunt my own kind so much that I want to know our flaws, where we failed enough that we were all destroyed." While another essentic might be an interesting challenge it would serve no purpose to kill one. The lion like creature flicked it's small ears back and forth ans it paced in front of kaosu." I am not Eli, I am Uzi, I should not be responsible for his actions towards you."

Kaosu watched her with a bemused expression, trying to figure out what was going through the strange feline's head. "Well, I can rant for hours on the faults of Essentics in this world, but I doubt that would help you become a better hunter," he admitted. Warily, he pinned his gaze on her as she paced, "Uzi, not Eli. Point taken." This little AI was different from the others. It was not so annoyingly subservient. Maybe it would not hurt to humor it for a while?
"The biggest mistake your species made was letting humanity see its true potential. People fear things they can not understand. Fear leads to destruction," he stated evenly. "But you're looking for more specific examples, aren't you?"

Uzi nodded, golden main shaking as the big cat did so. Uxi knew it was not the ultimate hunter and that while stories were interesting and could provide small tidbits of information and trivia that might be helpful later they did not make it better. Only more practice could help the proto hone the skills born into it due to it's purpose. It had already proven deadly to several animals since it's emergence, the hare it's spark had killed not counting.
" Examples of things I can actually avoid doing " Uzi could not and certainly would not deny the full potential that lay inside it even if the essentic was unsure of what that was. The proto wanted to be stronger and faster and develop skills that would dwarf those of any hunter ever known, it was part of their core desire weather personality or programmed. Uzi wanted to be the best and that meant not falling prey to the things that had destroyed the first generation.

"You can avoid showing your true potential. Hiding your true strength. Underestimation is actually a very powerful tool," Kaosu corrected her, not sure why he had agreed to lecture the Essentic. Heck, he might even regret trying to teach her later. Who knew? With this new generation running around, a second Hunt was not entirely impossible. Why train a creature that might end up his enemy?
No, she probably would never be his enemy. As much as he hated to admit it, even if there really was a second massacre, he did not know who he would side with. Essentics were abominations, maybe, but the Government was not exactly much better. Could he submit to the military and its strict rules again in the first place? "Specific things... that's hard. The kind of traps you'll encounter depend on the Hunter you face."
Grasping for a more concrete explanation, he motioned for her to follow and padded off towards the entrance of the warehouse. Carefully approaching one of the many live frag mines he had planted around the area, he disarmed it quickly and held it up for her to see. "For example, I always liked these. They're bombs. Easy to hide, easy to lure prey onto. One wrong step and even an Essentic is missing a couple of limbs."

Uzi pondered the idea of masking it's strength as the the essentic followed Kaosu. It was possible to complete hunts without going to the utmost limits when humans were watching. Then again Uzi trusted Eli, they were partners, bonded, Eli would never betray them.
The idea was stuck in the yellow eyed essentic's head now though, what if Eli did turn, became jealous or fearful of Uzi's skills? After all The armoured cat was made to hunt and battle and in general was simply better created than the naturally born human. What if Eli began to hate that, perhaps some caution was a good idea.
The pro gave hiss and laid it's ears back at the description of the mine, it sounded as though even it's armour was not adequate to deal with this threat. It barely smelled at all and had been well hidden, Uzi was no match for such a thing and it distressed the essentic especially with the idea of betrayal fresh in it's young vulnerable mind.
" I have underestimated the power human's have" Or moreover the weapons they could wield.

Kaosu kept an eye on the peculiar Essentic, trying to guess just what exactly was running through its mind. Most of the the AIs he had met had been... less than eager to hear stories of the Hunt. So why was Uzi different? Perhaps it was its purpose. It was not a bodyguard. It was not a companion. No, it was designed to be a killer. That explained everything, didn't it?
He cocked a brow when the feline hissed, curious about the reaction. Had it never heard of mines? The nasty explosives were classic traps. The most basic ones. Or had his words regarding hiding its potential bothered it? Absently he wondered if he was unintentionally leading the little thing astray.
"By admitting that, you've already improved yourself," the redhead purred, gingerly setting the mine on the steps of the entrance where he would not forget to reset it. "Humans are not as physically strong as Essentics, no, but we have all kinds of dirty tricks up our sleeves. Demolitions. Poison. Torture."
He shook his head, "If relations between you guys and humanity turn sour again, you'll be dealing with the military. Not your average kind of opponent."

Uzi extended and retracted it's claws, humans were dangerous, the military was dangerous only family was safe and yet.. essentics were not family even ones with rooms of their own. Somehow coming here had not helped ease the distressed proto's mind at all, in fact it had only added to the list of things they were thinking about. The combat type wondered how Lauss didn't explode from so much thinking. "I will find a way to survive" Uzi stated with less certainty than it felt. Though this only made the essence born being think about true life and souls and all those damned confusing things again.

"You will find a way? Don't be so confident," Kaosu scoffed, still watching Uzi curiously. She clearly was thinking over. She clearly had been confused by his words. Disturbed. Oh well. A little higher-thinking would be good for her. If she could start puzzling over her personal problems now, maybe they would not intensify so badly when she grew. "There is no way to ensure a fleeting thing like that, unfortunately. The best you can do is live, learn, improve yourself, and keep your wits about you. The rest is up to chance."

" Hunting is not chance it is skill, my skills will become superior to theirs" The words were a loud echoing rumble the essentics sense of pride currently outweighing any other thoughts in it's mind. Uzi's eyes flashed brightly " I will not allow myself to be killed." The combat type would bush it self to the very limits of it's bodies capabilities, Uzi would become the better hunter and even humans with their weapons would be no match.
