In her latest attempt to make sure Clara was raised to some degree of normalcy, Emily had decided to bring the small girl to the park. While there were some dangers here, the woman was fairly certain that Clara was inclined not to approach danger if she could help it, and with Emily's assistance ought to be able to help it.
At current, they were settled comfortably in the sandbox with some of Clara's most recent acquisitions-- a toy pain and shovel. She seemed to be attempting to get her young, fairly untested muscles to work in a fashion she somehow recognized, digging up the sand and placing it in the bucket, but for the most part was just scooping up a top level of sand and sending it flying in the general direction of the pail.
Emily figured it was best to let Clara do this herself, and so simply sat on the edge of the sandbox, watching.

Alice was taking care of Alvar today. Kiri had a deadline for one of her illustrations that was keeping her busy and besides she had found that not even her mischeif loving son could be too bad to Alice, who literally looked like a kicked puppy if you were mean to her.
Since she didn't want them going too far or to places with big crowds the park had being the perfect place for Alice to take her little brother, besides exercise and plant loving Alice loved parks.
Alvar looked around the park, unlike Alice Alvar didn't see anything of interest at the park. It lacked people and things to do. Still it was something new to learn and the fact that his mum let him go to all these new places made him happy for unknown reasons. Carefully he started climbing the ladder to the slippery slide. Heights still scared him but this looked good, if he got too scared once he reached the top then he wasn't likely to hurt himself by falling thanks to the slide. He did however make an odd viewing, shaking and pale he didn't look like someone who was doing it because he wanted to.

Emily noticed little Alvar, recognizing him from the gym class, and waved, though she kept most of her attention on little Clara, who was still attempting to figure out the bucket and shovel's proper motions.
She seemed to be getting a bit frustrated with it, too, and Emily could see the anger start to rise in the little mouse's face. Gently, she guided her arms through the motions, shovel, pail, shovel, pail, hoping that would help.
Clara jerked her arms out of Emily's hands after a moment, "I do!" she insisted, picking up a shovelful of sand and again attempting to get it into the pail. She managed more than before, but still a lot of sand ended up back in the sandbox.

As they slowly approached a park Merrill was starting to rethink this whole stroller thing. The seraph wasn't keen to use a car again after the last one had exploded landing him with an unexpected if happily welcomed child. The child in question being he was currently pushing in the stroller. So cars were out, buss's were out becuase Nero panicked at all the people and that really only left walking to places if he needed to go out. Nero was too young to walk long distances without tiring so the angel had borrowed Tezza's old stroller from Rinali. Nero seemed to tolerate being pushed fairly well but it was a bit exhausting for the blue haired man. Still his son needed fresh air and Merrill, he needed juice. Thus off the two of them had gone headed towards the store. Now though Merrill paused, thinking maybe Nero could use some time to stretch his legs and play, there were other children in the park after all. Nero however had no intention of doing any such thing, the dark eyes boy refused to budge from the safety of his stroller until he was forced to stand. The fins located all over his body quivered and rippled as he looked around at all the strangers. It wasn't so much that they were scary but that they were strangers and he was in a strange place. " Nooo" he whined softly " Wanna go home to Shy."

Alvar safely at the top of the slide carefully sat on the edge with a grip on the rail before looking around. His sister Alice was standing near the side of the slide grinning supportively at his attempts to deal with his fear.
The lady and mouse from the gym class were in the sand box. The lady waved at him and he tried to smile back, unwilling to free a hand to wave. He wondered what the mouse was trying to do by throwing sand everywhere.
Finally there was the new comers, a blue haired guy and what looked like some type of fish. This one seemed pretty shy too, what was it with him meeting shy kids, first the mouse and now the fish.
Still Alvar was a social type, he could find plenty of things to do on his own but didn't really come into his own until there were people about so he figured it would be good to say hi. Carefully looking down the slide and releasing his grip he slipped down the slide to land slightly less elegantly than he would have liked at the bottom.
Alice was proud of her brother for managing to handle the slide by himself and it looked like the only thing hurt by the slide was his pride so that was fine as well. While her senses weren't as good as a real labradors they were still good enough for her to identify all the people in the park and keep track of them without having to constantly look around which was good because she was well aware that she was responsible for her younger brother. The two strange children she wondered where they came from, whether they were Edens like herself or maybe something more like her brother. Even some of the adults seemed a bit odd and probably had interesting stories to tell.
Seeing Emily wave at her brother and knowing her wouldn't wave back from so high she cheerfully waved back for him.

Clara looked at the fish-boy curiously. She couldn't really see Alvar all the way up where he was with her concentration mostly on the sandbox, so she didn't look at him, though she'd already gotten enough of an idea of who -he- was at the gym class that she wasn't too worried about him anyhow.
The new boy, though, she didn't know anything at all about. Nor about his guardian. Timidly, the mouse's little nose quivered as she sniffed in his general direction, dropping the shovel to hold onto her Guardian's hand as she crawled through the sandbox over to the edge nearest him.

Nero's fins quivered again for a moment before he strode forward a bit wobbly towards the sand box and the odd looking girl it held. The betta child was an odd one, mind flitting between nervous and assertive rather quickly, he had other emotions as well but those two were his reactions to any new situation, his own personal fight or flight. " What's that?" He asked curiously pointing to the sand and looking directly at the big eared, dark skinned girl for an answer.
Well then, Merril thought, this was going better than expected. The seraph ruffled the feather of his backs wings and watched as Nero ventured for on his own. It would be interesting indeed if the park's other children joined them and Nero was put in a group situation that was not his family.

Alvar didn't like that everyone was ignoring him but he was glad that no one had noticed his landing, well except Alice and she didn't count. He didn't know what was so interesting about the sand box but clearly there must be something so carefully getting up he headed over there too.
Alice stayed where she was near the slide, Alvar would just be annoyed if she followed him everywhere and she could keep a good eye from where she was. She was a bit worried, Alvar was very strong minded and had a habit of wanting to take control if he felt under appreciated or bored.

"Sand," Clara said matter-of-factly, her little nose quivering as she sniffed at him. Nero didn't smell like anything she'd ever known before, but she was quite aware of the fact that she didn't really know much of anything yet, so there were bound to be lots of things she'd never known before.
She offered him her shovel, "Wan' try?" she asked, showing him how she'd been using it to put sand in the bucket.
Emily watched Alvar and waved, smiling as he came over, "Hey there. Do you want to play in the sand as well?"

Sand.. hmmm interesting, it couldn't hurt to play with it, or so Nero hoped anyways. The betta child took the small plastic shovel with a smile and thank you then dug into the sand just as another boy joined them. Nero watched him with inky black eyes and raised a hand to wave, the other busy attempting to get the shovelful of sand into the bucket. It wasn't as easy as it looked and there was good chance the pudgy toddler was going to end up losing his balance and tumbling into the sandbox, especially as he attempted to multitask.

Alvar polietely bowed to Emily then considered Emily's question. He wasn't sure what the object of this was but he remembered Alice telling him of once when she played in the snow and made a fortress out of it then drew on all the walls.
He didn't think he could make a fortress out of this stuff but making smaller models or drawing was possible but most importantly he didn't want to be left out.
"Yes tank you." He replied unable to completely rid himself of baby talk, then went to sit with Clara and Nero smiling at both of them in way of greeting. "Hello" he commented to Nero who he hadn't met before "I'm Alvar".

" Nero " The Betta boy replied having managed to regained his balance. He pointed the shovel at his distant guardian " Rill" At least that was what his daddy called his papa. There was also his daddy and Shylock but they were at home and thus could not be introduced.
Have no desire to hog all the sand the fish boy held out the plastic tool the mouse girl had given him moments before " Shovel." There he was sharing now and sharing was good.

Alvar looked thoughtfully at the shovel before politely taking it with a "Tank you" He wasn't sure he wanted to try to use it in front of his new friends, he had seen them have trouble with it. He was the type who worked hard at things behind the scene so that he could pretend to be naturally good at it. Still it was just putting sand in a bucket, it couldn't be that hard.
He pointed the shovel in the direction of Alice. "Sis" he commented briefly as way of introducing her. Carefully he dug it into the sand trying to lift it into the bucket without loosing too much. Moving fast or taking too much at a time didn't seem to be wise so he was hoping that this would work and he wouldn't make a fool of himself.
