After reading the postscript of the seventh book, "Mysterious Journey to the North Sea", Kikuchi has mentioned that there indeed shall be a movie based on those two books. The drawing style will be that of the same from the last VHD movie, "Bloodlust", which was a spinoff of the third book, "Demon Deathchase".
Since this is news from the author himself, it must be legit. As for when the production will start and who are going to be the voice actors, and when it will be finished is something that I don't know at the moment.
As for another topic, how many novels have been translated to English and are also available to buy? When I went on Wikipedia, there are a total of 20 books that Kikuchi has written, most of them I am guessing are still in Japanese and have not sold out of Japan already. I know for a fact that I have seen book 12, "Pale Fallen Angels part 2", but apart from that, it was the last book that I saw in the series so far. If anyone is kind enough to keep me posted, it would be greatly appreciated.

Vol. 20 could be the last volume written but I don't think it's the final one. In Yoshitaka Amano's Maten artbook there are excerpts in Japanese of a final battle between D and his father. This finale is titled; "D- Armageddon". Even in the Yoshitaka Amano's Maten artbook, D's true full name hasn't been revealed, and the day that happens the story will be finished. So far only 12 volumes have been released in English. And yeah, I read about how "Mysterious Journey to the North Sea" (Vol. 7 & 8 ) are expected to be made into a movie. However that wasn't my favorite saga. I personally would love to see Vol. 4 "Tale of the Dead Town" because of it's brief reference to Doris near the end. Oh, I have all the novels listed in my thread; "VHD Merchandise | Collectors Corner" So come by and check those out? I even have the covers of the other Novels not yet translated released in America.

Are you just like me? A D/Doris shipper? If you are, then we are very few. I really liked that book. My second to favourite from the first one is Pilgrimage of the Sacred and the Profane-- I loved the cover art of that book.
Hopefully I'll be going next week to get the remainder of the novels. I need #2,3 and 12 to complete my collection. I also can't wait for the fourth volume of the manga to come out-- since as you said, a brief reminiscence of Doris and her brother will be shown. Hopefully. xD
Take care.

Yeah same here. It is nice to hear about the new movie. I love that they're using the same artist as the bloodlust movie.

eek eek I thought there was only 17 volumes. There's 20?!? crying I want!! I've only read the first two. And I think there's only... hmm.. about 10 of them that are in English. Can anyone tell me if Bloodlust was closer to Demon Deathchase than the movie based off of book one? I've always wondered that.
