After his brief encounter with others, the black and white little cub had gone back to wandering around the arid desert. The day had passed, and with night approaching the air was getting cool. Unknown to the cub, he was near the north of the territory- and had managed to keep to the edges as he wandered, though he had not seen any signs of the sandy land changing.
Kijibwa sighs, deciding it was time to take a rest. He wiggles as he takes a seat, burying his paws in the sand. With a yawn, he curls up in the makeshift 'nest' of sand. Keeping his blue eyes open, he rests his head on his paws and looks around- he wasn't so sure about the desert anymore.

"Look, mistress, food!" Murmured a voice that sounded half amused, chortling to himself.
"That's quite enough, K'tinka." A feminine voice replied, and greenish hued paws showed themselves, kneading into the sand as a dual colored gaze glanced at the young cub.
"What is a young one such as thee doing in a place as this?" The female asked, looking slightly amused as well.

In the cool, evening air of the desert it was not hard to hear even just a hint of someone else being nearby. The cub's ears wiggle slightly, and at first he doesn't react- he simply rolls around, looking at the upside-down world from his spot in the sand in time to see the approachers. He blinks, rolls himself over and shakes the sand from his fur.
He tilts his head at the female when she speaks, thinking about the answer to the question he'd been asked. He shrugs, "Sand."
It wasn't much of an answer, but he didn't feel any particular need to be formal or concerned around her- he was pleased to see someone, actually. He takes a hesitant step closer to the lioness..

"Sand?" The lioness looked a bit puzzled, and didn't react to him approaching her.
"I think he became lost, mistress," Murmured the Serval, who bounced up to him and put his nose in the other's face, grinning a bit.
The lioness rolled her eyes, shaking her head and turning away, the cross on her face showing for a brief moment. "Well, if he's beein in the desert, I assume he's hungry, or thirsty."

The cub smiles when the lioness doesn't react to his approaching- it was a nice change from the violent cub he'd come across before. When the serval suddenly comes over to him, though, he starts and stumbles backwards.
He stares at the serval curiously until he hears the lioness comment on being hungry and thirsty. His ears flatten slightly and he inches towards her again, "Food?" He, clearly, wasn't much of a hunter himself- especially in the desert.

She turned, smiling. "Yes, food. K'tinka, stop scaring the poor thing." She laughed, tossing her head and pointing one direction. "If you would like something to eat, I can show you a few things in this direction."

Kijibwa's blue eyes widen a bit, and he nods- finally just moving right over to her and nuzzling against her leg. This lioness is very nice. He glances at the serval, 'K'tinka', warily though- not so sure about that thing.

The lioness smiled at his gentleness, and nudged him forward a small bit with her nose. "Don't mind K'tinka, he can be a pain sometimes. He isn't a threat at all." Walking a small ways, the lioness stopped, glancing around for a moment, before spotting something scuttling on the sand. With a swift bound, she tackled it and cracked its shell, then lifted her paw and glanced at the cub. "It's not much, but it will do for now."

The cub nods, and then follows along as the lioness moves- stopping to watch when suddenly she pounces at something. He grins mischeviously, and attempts a pounce of his own- but only managing to jump forward and then stumble to the ground. Lifting his head, he looks at the lioness when she speaks to him. With another smile, he scrambles over to the spot she had pounced~

It was a small scorpion. It wasn't much, and hadn't put up a fight of any kind, but it was at least a big enough satisfactory meal for the cub.
"Mistress, names," Murmured the Serval, who curled up at the base of her feet, staring intently at the cub. Amoret had to smile, glancing softly at the cub, not at all trying to overwhelm him. With a paw, she pressed on the Serval's head and smooshed it - rather playfully - into the ground with a muffled outcry of the other.
"I'm known as Amoret. K'tinka is the Serval here, and what are you known as?"
K'tinka's head snapped up, and he spat out dirt, looking a bit sheepish at his earlier actions, as well as ruffled by the lioness' actions.

The cub crunches through what he can of the scorpion, quite content with the meal and thankful to the lioness. He lays down to continue picking at the shells, and bat it around. He looks up when the serval murmurs something that he doesn't quite catch, and then watches the lioness push him to the ground playfully.
"Amret?" He repeats after the lioness, not sure what she means until she mentions K'tinka again. The serval's name.. she was asking for his name. He lifts his head, trying to look important, "Kijibwar."
He does his best to manage his whole name this time, though having trouble with the ending. He tilts his head, hoping she'd understood.

"You must be half starved," Amoret murmured worriedly, frowning at his reply. For a cub to act like this and not hear things like Kiji just did... that was something to worry about, wasn't it?
"Would you like to help me find some shelter?" The lioness asked blandly, disreguarding the earlier subject. Perhaps he would be better off if they all found water, or found their way away from the desert.

Kijibwa watches her concerned gaze silently, then brightens at the mention of finding shelter, "Not sand?" He scrambles to his feet- he was tired of the sand, and not having food or water, and now this lioness was offering to help! How wonderful! His tail brushes gently on the sand behind him..

Turning again, Amoret started off in a direction - randomly, it seemed - and started walking. "This way," She murmured softly, giving a smile to both the cub and K'tinka, and allowing a slow enough pace for them both to follow.

With refreshed energy thanks to the small meal the lioness had provided, Kijibwa stumbles his first few steps through the soft sand before falling into step behind the lioness. Knowing neither which direction she had chosen nor his way out of the desert, he can only trust that Amoret knows where she is going.
