The only book that actually involves Archenland(even though it was at the last part) is "The Horse And His Boy". It was set before Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy returned to their world(when they were still Kings and Queens).

I thought the book was lacking details, though my favourite character would have to be Shasta.

The book took place during the Golden Age and only Susan and Edmund are present in the book.
