Which threads would you guys like to keep, which ones you'd like to revamp, etc?
Also to active members (both crew and regular): What should be done to the non active members of the guild (aka those who haven't posted ANYTHING WHATSOEVER) and what job do you want to take? Yes...there's duties now... (well, there's some at the moment that I can think of...)
-News person (meaning having to update at least twice a month with new stuff from Square)- -Member management (recruitment, weeds done by Gwyn) -Banner creation (this is very straightforward)- -Artwork for RPs (an optional duty...only if you want to- ....any other suggestions for jobs/duties? (I'm kinda braindead at the moment)
RPs are maintained by the person who created the RP, so no worries there.
Please reply! I need to know what people think before we can do something about the guild....

Throwing in my two cents, since I didn't get to earlier this morning. ^^;; I think we should keep the following threads: General Chat Other FF Chat Trivia Fanworks Vault Sprite Collection (debatable) RP Thread All Stickies Member Pictures
And then clear the rest... oh, and leave up the announcements. That just my input for now though. Uhm, will add more later when I've finished my psych homework. ^^;;;;;;

I agree that we should weed out the members with few posts. Though, I also think we should advertise a bit more than we do. I recently got invited into a 'GGN Mod' exclusive guild thing for being a crew member here, so I can advertise in there, as they have a subforum for it.

I'm actually invited to that Mod guild, too, since I'm crew for another guild that I'm in (just haven't had a chance to look at it yet or join for that matter due to time constraints).
I didn't advertise much about the guild mainly because of the fear of the overflow of people, which happened in the last guild before we transferred to the GGN.
But then again...I guess the test already limits the number of people in, too... sweatdrop sweatdrop
Problems again is that there needs to be at least one or two people on crew who's sole responsibility is to advertise and recruit. As stated in the first post, there's jobs/duties that might be used for people in crew. I'll add in more crew only if you ask for it if you haven't already...but I guess priority goes to old members and more active members for that.
A statement that I forgot was to have someone act as Vice-Captain, in case I'm not here or am on a leave of absence (which hasn't happened yet, but I don't know, it might); someone who is dedicated enough and who I can trust to keep the guild running if things IRL go bad.

I nominate Kohki or Chibicid for VC. heart
And I don't necessarily think that the mod duties need to be quite so split - I think you could group the news position with the member management position, for instance, and banner creation / RP artwork would work better together, too.
Wipe out inactives. Better to have the guild info list the number of true members rather than a deadweight-inflated amount, in my opinion.
I think Kaede's pretty much got it right with her threadlist. As an addendum: should we put a base time limit on a new thread - say a month or somesuch - after which it will be deleted automatically, unless it's still pertinent or like two members request that it stay? That way we won't have to do spring cleaning twice a year.

Hmm... well, I wouldn't mind being VC if you don't have any one else in mind. I could also easily do Member Management... I'm not afraid of stepping on people's toes.
And I think that a lot of the threads definately need to be cleared out. Possibly some stickies, but I'll leave that up to you, Ayame.
(I think the Help Hotline in particular is rather useless... people tend to go to FAQs and guides before they just ask online. Although, I do like the idea of it confused )

I've deleted some of the threads that don't particularly relate to the guild (although, this doesn't restrict you from making one...just that those were too old). Probably later on we can delete the remaining threads not mentioned in Kaede's post if nobody adds anything else in the next week or so.
The reason why I had the positions split up is because some people can do banners, but they can't draw, some have no problem finding news bits but don't like to weed people, etc. I'm trying to just keep it as simple as possible... sweatdrop
RP artwork is optional, though. I just added it in mainly because there's so many things in the RP #1 thread that you can twist around to make a parody of xd
Saoszuc: I like the idea about the time limit on new threads. 3nodding
Gwyn: I'll give you member management, then. xd If you want to do something else, or add on something, etc., just let me know. 3nodding
Thanks for input, guys whee ((This is why it makes it so hard for me to choose a VC....darn my indecisiveness...))

lol...I'd say it's more your large number of incredibly qualified members more than your indecisiveness. wink
Hehe. But yeah...maybe we should try and recruit some people? At least some for the RP (to take over for inactive/missing members *cough*). As always, I'll do my best to do anything you need me to. whee

I understand your reasoning, Ayame; that makes plenty of sense. I guess I'm just thinking we don't have enough people to make into mods anyway. razz
Think we should make a thread to vote on VCs? Any other nominations?

I'll send a PM to all the people who are on my delete list and give them one day to respond. If they do, I'll leave em. If not, they're history.

Gwyn Masamune I'll send a PM to all the people who are on my delete list and give them one day to respond. If they do, I'll leave em. If not, they're history. If you haven't already sent that PM - give 'em three days, or a week. There might be legitimate circumstances for them not to be on Gaia for a day or so, after all. ...And as for a VC vote thread: we should do nominations in this thread, or make a new thread with a time limit for nominations, then kill that one and replace it with the vote thread. Keep the clutter down both in general and in the vote thread specifically. 3nodding

Well, hmm...maybe one thread for nominations and once they're done (say, like, after a given amount of time like 2 weeks maybe?), add in the poll and change the topic thread to "voting" instead of nominations.
...I think you can do that if you're the creator of the thread. I'm not sure as I have a numerous amount of extra buttons whenever I start a new thread. (I have avoided the actual forums of Gaia for quite some time...nearly a year, actually, since the GGN was created...) sweatdrop
