Setting up a means of allowing the babies to sleep in the bathroom? Not exactly the most convenient setup in the world. Car seats/carriers (Why did they even HAVE them? Melody and Boyue couldn't even drive!) set up in the bathtub, and Melody and Boyue's fingers crossed.
It worked.
Of course, they still woke up several times a night out of hunger, but Melody could HANDLE that. Some sleep, after all, was better than no sleep.
So today, while she's STILL tired, she's conscious. And the babies, strapped in their double stroller, are perfectly content to burble and coo, kick and project, and enjoy the pleasant day.
Though, perhaps, maybe Melody should WAIT before attempting--
No. Even if she may have found a temporary solution, she's still DESPERATE to deal with this, and if this means being somewhat rude while pursuing her one solid lead, so be it. And besides, if things look bad, she can always claim to be at the Perfumery to visit Hitsuga, anyway. So she'll take the risk.
Knock. Knock knock knock.
"...Hello?"

There is a bit of a delay before a projection of greeting echoes back at Melody, as if its originator has been occupied in doing something else. ... A moment later, that first greeting is followed by a request to please wait a moment, as it will take this one just a little while... to reach... the door... sweatdrop
And then, finally, Baikou appears, to open the door and say smilingly, "Hello!" She looks a bit disheveled, but her smile is bright and sincere. "Ah, Madame Melody, isn't it?"

"Miss Baikou," Melody answers, a bit unsteadily.
Ah... she isn't interrupting anything, is she? At this question, Melody fidgets anxiously, biting her lower lip as she averts her gaze. It would seem she is beginning to lose her nerve.

... Baikou seems a bit confused at the use of 'Miss,' but she smiles again after a moment and nods; yes, "I'm Baikou."
Did Melody come to see Hitsuga? He's out at this moment... Baikou unfortunately can't remember exactly when he was due to get back sweatdrop But would Melody and her children like to come inside anyway?
She peers at the twins, smiling, and giving off a faint feeling of curiosity, too, but does not lean in or ask to meet them yet.

Well, um... actually... Melody... um...
Actually, coming inside for the time being would likely be the best choice. So with that, she nods, projecting her thanks as she carefully guides the stroller inside.
The twins, at Baikou's curiosity, perk up slightly and return the feeling; Eiji's curiosity is more reserved and subdued, but Tsubaki's is much more pronounced as she seems to leap at any chance to ask "What's that?"
But Melody's concern is...
She hopes she isn't intruding at all...

No, no, Melody isn't intruding. Baikou wasn't up to anything important at all, really. 3nodding
Would she perhaps like to take a seat in the kitchen? Baikou can put on some tea for her, if she'd like it. Baikou is in the mood herself~
As she makes her way to the kitchen -- a bit slow and stiff, but not as bad as she was the day Melody met her -- she asks, so, "What brings you here, then?"

Actually, Melody admits, slowly pushing the stroller as she trails behind Baikou, she'd come to ask for Baikou's help.
--Wellyouseeit'skindof... Melody's thoughts become somewhat jumbled after her admission; it's a little more difficult to ask Baikou now that she knows Hitsuga isn't present to speak for her or reassure her that Baikou wouldn't be annoyed with her, but she has to keep going now.
Ahem.
Hitsuga recommended Baikou to Melody, actually; she has something of a...
She pauses to think of how to word the statement.
Melody supposes it would be paranormal, wouldn't it? But if Melody remembers correctly, Baikou studies these sorts of things? And would maybe... maybe be able to help with things having to do with magic?

Baikou, paused in the middle of preparing the tea kettle, blinks at Melody blankly.
"... Pardon?" Baikou didn't quite follow what Melody just said. sweatdrop
But from the scraps she did grasp -- "I am a magical philosopher, so perhaps I can be of use?"

Not a good start.
Melody apologizes; she hasn't been getting much sleep lately.
Her children, she finally explains, can see and hear things that she and her husband cannot. And they've been unable to sleep in her house because something-- magical, she believes-- is too loud, too bright... and the only place in the house SAFE from it seems to be the bathroom.
Actually, she explains, she and Hitsuga had discovered it when she'd called him and asked him to come over and they spent quite some time practically hiding in the bathroom with the children while they finally were able to sleep peacefully.
And then there was the time her father brought them over to Great-Grandpa Setsushi's and they kept projecting at the side of his head and at his sword-- but then he unsheathed it and they both immediately began to cry because it was too loud and bright and--
...Melody's at her wit's end, she finally admits. And she doesn't want to trouble someone she just met with her inability to care for her own children but she just doesn't know what else to DO and--
She trails off.

Baikou listens attentively, setting the kettle on heat but then turning to face the other woman and give her her full attention as she explains. At the end, Baikou nods a few times, nibbling the corner of her lip as she seems to be contemplating the situation to herself.
Well, first of all, "You should not be ashamed," for no mother can be a caretaker, doctor, schoolteacher, and trade-master all in one; if her children are troubled by some sort of magical ailment, that's not due to Melody's 'inability to care for them.'
Baikou sends calm and reassuring feelings to Melody, smiling, before she continues: "It's possible they are oversensitive to magic." Indeed, that seems quite likely if they reacted to a sword of Setsushi's, for she imagines that they are heavily enchanted. "Do you notice their eyelids coming down? -- Have you tried using a dampening screen?" Ah, she's not sure Gaia has dampening screens, but she thinks she may have brought a visor with the other supplies for Rika...
Perhaps Melody has found the right person, for Baikou's voice and mind are already rambling along all the possibilities.

Dampening screen? Eyelids coming down? They're closing their eyes, if that's what Baikou means?
Melody bites her lip anxiously.

"Ah, I mean the translucent one," says Baikou, gesturing to her own eye to demonstrate--
... "Actually, it would be even easier to show you... Do you mind if I do a little experiment?" If Baikou tries doing a little trick in front of the babies, hopefully Melody will be able to see the reaction Baikou is talking about, but there's also the possibility that it will make them annoyed or a little bit uncomfortable.

Melody can feel her face growing hot as her ignorance becomes glaringly apparent-- she has no idea that the eyelid even had a PURPOSE. Simply that it was always there.
But still, she gives Baikou her permission; anything, she feels. Anything that could help...

Baikou nods, then hunts around for something suitable...
... In the end, taking a piece of paper towel and crumpling it up into a ball, then pulling up a chair to the stroller (kneeling on the floor would be a bit much for Baikou) and seating herself on it.
She coos, Hello~ at the babies projectionally, as she holds out the ball on the palm of her hand, close to their faces but further away than the span of their stubby baby arms. She continues to make soothing and cheerful projections at them... then, suddenly, focuses her telekinesis upon the ball, intending to lift it up a few inches above her hand.
... Baikou, though, does not have that kind of precision control, and the light crumple of paper ends up actually shooting out of her hand all the way up to the ceiling.
Whoops!
... But did Melody see? The way a spell close to one's face causes a blink, like the sudden approach of a physical object would induce the whole eye to blink?

Melody leaps back as the crumple flies toward the ceiling, squeezing her eyes shut as she gives a small cry of surprise.
She completely misses the blink in question, though the babies don't seem to be the least bit annoyed or uncomfortable. Rather, both seem amused by the trick; Eiji's eyes are wide with surprise and awe, and Tsubaki lets out a loud squeal as she smiles a wide, openmouthed, gummy smile.
And both seem to be saying "DO AGAIN, DO AGAIN!" blaugh
