Well, the only movie I've seen lately that's in the theaters is Star Trek, which was absolutely amazing.

Otherwise, it really is cheaper just to rent a movie and watch it on the couch, in which case I would recommend the Count of Monte Cristo, V for Vendetta, Chocolate (it's got Johnny Depp in it), Interview With the Vampire (nekkid warnings), the Blade trilogy, Alexander (as in, Alexander the Great)... and I can't think of anything else at the moment.

The Count of Monte Cristo is my absolute favourite movie. One of my favourite parts is when Dantes is running across the beach, and the pirates are there... and they're all like "WTF, there's a dude..."

rofl I'm sorry Hane, but "One of my favourite parts is when Dantes is running across the beach, and the pirates are there... and they're all like "WTF, there's a dude..." I totally LOL'd....

Um Star Trek for sure.

Don't watch the 2nd night at the museum. It sucked. The first one was adorable and the Smithsonian one ruined it. emo

I haven't watched anything really since I haven't had time.

Who has time to watch movies haha joking....I havn't had any time to sit down and watch a movie right through but I must admit renting a movie is so much easier. I think the last movie was seventeen again which was so cute but besides that there's nothing much out there....hmmm

I watched star trek!!! it was awesome and surprisingly funny.

My favorite part was when spok.... or however you spell his name... was like "I'd Say my usual thing but that would seem pretty self-serving." SPOILER: to himself. *LE GASP*

I totally recommend that movie.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE NOW IS UP!! UP is a freaking amazing movie. definately worth the $9 funniest movie ever. it made me laugh so hard that i started crying. andddddd it also made me cry which i havent done at a movie since i saw P.S. i love you.

I just saw the Proposal. also a good movie. I LOVED IT! it was very funny. even my parents liked it! *gasp*

Oh and ive heard from a variety of reliable sources that the Hangover is the bomb.

ummmm just wondering... have any of you guys seen Year One yet? it got pretty bad reviews but the previews looked really funny. can someone help me with that one?

Well, they totally are. Have you seen the movie? I can't remember... but that part is soooo amazing. And then, Dantes sees the pirates, and he's got the "Oh crap" expression...

I never saw the movie Hane, but I do want to now....LOL

I wanted to see up, but I was afraid it'd be a waste. I'll go see if I can find a torrent online and download it. ^o^

I watched the first Transformers and was afraid, (too many movies I'm afraid of being bad) that the second one would be bad. O.O

I wanted to see the Proposal, and I cried over P.S. I Love You. Have you read the book? OMG It's an amazing book that I bawled over. It's a great book.

I actually don't want to see Year One. I'm really a Jack Black fan, but he was okay in School of Rock or whatever that movie with the classroom of kids was called. (bad with any types of names--be happy I know our guild members' names!!!)

The Proposal's really the only movie in theaters I'd want to see.

If you want to rent movies, I'm not sure which genre you're into. I just rented The Day The Earth Stood Still. If anyone else saw it, what do you think of it? I thought it was okay, but
the fact that all they had to do was change Klaatu's mind about saving the human race felt like a cop-out to me. And what I'm wondering is why didn't they get eaten by those bugs when he was trying to get them under the bridge?
(Sorry for how long it was!)

Also saw Knowing. Definetly a bittersweet ending. That one was okay.

Well, that's not the only awesome thing about it. Remember Richard Harris? He was the one who played Dumbledore in the first two HP movies, then sadly died. He's in The Count of Monte Cristo, and I just discovered that it was actually filmed between the two HP movies. I know the first time I saw the movie, I hadn't quite realized who he was, but then the second time I was like "OMG that's Dumbledore!"

BUT, that withstanding, it is still such an amazing movie - so good, that even though I am the Trekkie that I am, The Count of Monte Cristo still holds a dear place in my heart. Star Trek can't quite compete with it. Maybe it's because I'm a sappy romantic at heart, and love drama a little too much... buuuut... most of the other people I've made to watch it said it was great. *starry eyes*

EDIT - And I actually just realized it also says something that I absolutely and irrevocably love a movie I haven't quite found a way to slash. Hell, I'd actually never want to slash that movie - and the fangirl inside me doesn't care either. *starry eyes*

I've never seen The Count of Monte Cristo. My boyfriend explained the basic premise of the story to me and it seems interesting. No spoilers please! I might rent this next time I get to Blockbuster... except I hear it's really, really long. Like 3+ hours long... but then again, he saw it on TV.
