Okay you know in Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban when Harry and Hermione go back in time. Well remember the part where Harry almost goes into Hagrid's house and kills Ron's rat / Peter Pettigrew well how much do you think the series would have changed ?

No one would have figured out that Black was the good guy. Voldamort would not be alive. Cedric would be alive! That's just off the top of my head. I have no clue about the rest.
What would have happened if Black didn't escape from the the prison?

umm . they didn't find out Sirius was the good guy .. well some people did but not everyone.

I wish Fred was still alive!! How could J.K Rowling have killed off Fred?! GRRR, J.K Rowling, one day you will have topay for his death...
Aah, sidetracked...
Ahem.
The only problem is that Harry would probably go mad, but who really cares when he went off with Ginny, when it was so completely obvious he should have been with Hermione.
Curse J.K Rowling and her stupid pairings.
Curse her for keeping Wormtail alive, why, oh why, did he have to transform into a rat and escape?
Curse her for pairing Harry with Ginny.
Curse her for killing Snape.
I'm not too sure about anyone else, but am I the only one who found most of 'Deathly Hallows' slightly pointless? The only good thing was that Draco didn't die.
Ahem.

Am I the only one who finds the more intelligent Slytherins [i.e. excluding people like Crabbe and Goyle] the best characters?
The only time I didn't like Malfoy's character was when Hagrid was doing that job inspection thing with Umbridge.
Sorry, I just felt I had to say that.

Well JKR killed Fred instead of Arthur Weasley. She changed that but. Personally if Peter Pettigrew had died I don't know what turns the books could have taken. It would have been very odd. I don't know that Voldemort would be dead, but he most likely wouldn't have a body until later in the series and large parts of the plot would have changed.
*Spoiler*BTW Snape died in Deathly Hallows at the hands of Voldemort in the Shrieking Shack if I am correct. He passed a few memories to Harry before he died I think. It was the scene where Harry found out that Snape was in love with his mom and that Dumbledore told him to kill him and stuff and made me incapable of hating him no matter how much I wanted to.*Spoiler*
