Sprightly were her steps as they took her out of the rocky den that served as her mother's home. Liriel might have been giving her and her siblings brooding glares since birth, barely paying them attention in her fury, but somehow this malice did not affect Gabrielle's outlook for the day. For what was a new day but a new chance to prove herself to these eccentric wolves? "Gooooooooood moooooooooorning!" the little one yipped to the heavens, her head tilted back in almost a howl as she greeted the day and hoped she was heard, and then scampered down the jagged stones to the grassy floor. There was no true agenda in her mind other than going about to greet the other members of the Reign of Terror and see how they fared, get introduced and whatnot to someone who wouldn't blubber like a babe such as that slave her mother had claimed some time ago. Adrieal was a fun companion to her games, but even his terrified whimpers could grow boring after a while; who could fear a pup that much anyway? Not like she bit that hard . . .
She needed fresh faces, a wolf beyond her usual mugshots of Baal, or Mystral, or Zarine, or Cassius, or the baleful countenance of her mother, or the shadowed one of her father. Breathing in the minty scents from the trees above, Gabrielle set out to the middle of their packlands, wondering who else would be up with the sun and willing to meet with her. Never did the thought of her unusual circumstance proving hindering cross her mind.

Clear golden eyes followed along the ground, cocked downward, though hardly saw a thing as the creature walked along, his thoughts the most present thing before his mind. His brows frowned once more at the thought. How dare they? How dare she! But never matter, he told himself over and over again, hoping to qualm his erupting frustration. As a Lord of Reign of Terror he was expected to travel, to enter into hostile territory, and retrieve tribute from other packs. All he asked in return was for his things to be neat and available for his arrival back. He had returned from his first mission and things were already array. He fumed for two nights straight over the loss of his slave, growing further depraved with the fact that he had no one to take his anger off on now. And he learned she had run away? How was this possible? Were his pack mates that incompetent?
His fangs flashed briefly before something caught his attention. The shout of a young voice had yanked him from his thoughts and as he peered out at the fiery female, the tall male felt a flash of heat scourge through him. So, was this the reason his slave had managed to escape? While the pack was busy preparing a birth and raising pups? How irresponsible. Clooney wondered for a moment how their alpha must have been taking this. The thought briefly amused him before he was pulled back to this current setting. Whose pup was this? Raising his head from its previous forward position between his shoulders, the crimson crown atop seemed more prevalent as he stared. It was a moment or so later that Clooney finally gave up his interest in the small female and started off toward the thicker portions of the wood. Certainly there he'd find some interest to take his mind off of his current aggravations.

"W-whaooh!" A yowl sounded from the woods, echoing out, and was swiftly followed by the burst of birds from the upper reaches of the canopy. Skinny legs sprawled above the coiled form of a body, writhing up there with deep paws hanging comfortably. Blinking, the creature peered upward, seeing only his thin nibble legs and foliage above. Light pooled through the branches, flowing down between the holes like waterfalls seeping through rocks into cave pools below. He was bathed in that sunlight, but just barely, and lay in his uncomfortable pose until his body had finally ached enough. Swiveling sideways, the lanky creature slowly pulled himself onto his haunches where he shook himself before taking a look around at his new surroundings. This perspective was far more appealing to his sense of balance.
The male glanced back behind him, looking up the slope from where he came and how he had ended up in this mess. Apparently running wasn't the grandest of ideas on a steep hill, especially with the contraptions around his forelegs. His dark muzzle pulled from looking at the cuffs to a more positive position; forward. If he wanted to get moving he had to start now. His hind slowly slide out from under him, his scraggily tail limply flopped as he moved, and his thin hips slid out into a standing position. It was when he attempted to move his front legs that, to his dismay, he was seeing the top of the trees once more.
"Huh?" Rolling over again, the male realized the reason for his tripping and immediately started to yank. The chain of his accessories was looped multiple times around a thin bush -the very thing he was sure had stopped him from rolling further- and now was forcing him put. "Crap." He continued to tug, yanking harder and faster with each passing moment.

Certainly it seemed that Clooney's current agitation was almost a palpable aura, a strange invisible presence in the air that set the pup's instinctual side off, fur stiffening. Though why, Gabrielle mused, why should she be afraid? It couldn't possibly be that this particular wolf was furious with her, after all, since she had done nothing wrong. Well, besides being born, but that was beside the point really, because she was determined to see that it wasn't a pointless existance she led! Maybe she could brighten Grumpy Face's day for a first? "Heyoo~" she chirped, trotting right after the lord as he disappeared into the forest, curious as to where he could be going.
Neither of her parents had divulged much information about the others yet specifically, but she was familiar with ranks for the most part: maybe this guy was going off to collect tribute? Oooh, the poor pack would be in for it all right in that mood! Gabrielle giggled softly to herself at the thought of a shouting match happening over tribute rather than a physical fight, padding right up to the male's heels. "It's a lovely day, isn't it, sir? I'm Gabrielle, and you must be one of thsoe lord thingers, right? Heading off to get some fear-mongering happening?"

The crown lifted as the flapping of birds sounded above, and staring with golden eyes, the wolf wondered what had disturbed them so. Certainly it was not him, as Clooney had just started into the wood, let alone done anything in particular to frighten them. Narrowing his gaze, he peered back forward, intrigued but for the moment as to what had caused the disturbance, forgetting about his troubles with exiting away from the pack. That was...until he heard a small voice from behind. Like memories returning to someone who was once cursed with amnesia, the wolf regained his previous agitation, feeling the fur about his heckles rise with the presence of the little female. What was she doing here and who did she belong to? Where she any adult member he might have whirled around, giving a swift n** to the nose.
Looking down at the pup, he listened to her gibberish, his brows lowering, and his tail twitched with impatience. "Well, Gabrielle, I am a Lord and I am indeed preoccupied at the moment with some important business," he explained, hoping this would be enough to drive her off, "As for it being a lovely day...well, I'll leave that for you to decide? I haven't the time to think about how lovely it is. Now why don't you run back to your mother? I'm sure she wouldn't like you mingling with the likes of me."

"Important business? Can I come?" she asked eagerly, snatching up the chance to prove herself. "I've got a good nose and good eyes, Mr. Lord. See, I saw those birds flapping up a storm over there, and they came above us just now as you can tell, right? Something's up! We should go check it out, huh?" Easy, Gabby, easy girl . . . Yet the pup found herself springing right to the front to lead the adult towards the source of the birds' flight. Gabrielle dropped her voice to a low whisper. "Maybe it's an intruder. Do lords fight those too?" How fun would it be to engage in combat! All that practice with Adrieal would be put to use.

"No," he answered immediately, not needing to glance down toward the pup. His paws moved forward a few steps, wondering if she would take the hint and stay out of the deeper belly of the wood. His voice had been laced with irritation, a commanding baritone as to throttle her in her steps. This didn't seem to work, however, as the willed pup bounded ahead of him, speaking so ecstatically Clooney had to wonder if this sort of behavior was average of wolves her age or if it was the product of some parent's genes. His tail gave an annoyed twitch.
The bulky beast padded forward, stepping over the small fiery thing. "That depends. But I would prefer not to fight as long as the situation is in my favor. But in the event of a fight, I would have you back at your den. You're not my responsibility. Head back home."

Psha. Of course she wasn't his responsibility - Gabrielle's reponsibility was to Gabrielle and her family, silly lord! Giggling as the adult stepped over her disdainfully, she weaved about his paws a little more, even pressing against his legs like a cat at the bends and turns, trying to steer him closer to the area of disturbance. "Smell something!" Gabrielle cried suddenly, sliding out of his legs and pointing like a bloodhound with a comically fierce stare. "Intruder wolf, smell him just in the bushes at the base of the hill, sir! C'mon!" The pitter-patter of pawsteps pushed her forward, a strange metallic scent also wafting into her nose. Metal? Here? But it wasn't a human scent she sniffed . . .

With every step he looked down to her, glaring, wondering what possessed the brave girl to behave in such a manner with someone much larger, stronger, and of a higher rank than surely she was. Not only did he pause to question her, but also to ensure he wasn't stepping directly into her. The pup didn't need to direct his movements as his destination was the same as hers. His curiosity about the earlier disturbance was pulsating through his body, thumping in time with his heart, seeming to grow the closer they got. Gabrielle's sudden interruption came when he too was noticing a unique scent, one he had never come across before in Reign of Terror (that was saying something considering his return from collecting tribute had brought many different surprises, not just the disappearance of his precious object).
He gave a small snarl as the pup romped forward. Didn't she realize her position? Not only was it just plain stupid for a pup to charge in after a stranger, it was an insult to the older wolf who found his career being intruded upon by someone years his junior.
Upon breeching the brush the male gazed down the hill catching initially glimpses of aqua, gold and rust mingled with fur as black as ebony. Focusing he could see the story fully played out. The strange creature writhed, yanking himself pitifully, striking immediate amusement in Clooney who paused only to watch for a second before descending down to experience firsthand this odd stranger.

"Bleh." The rough puff of breath was an expression more of agitation rather than function, after all, the purpose was to remove the strands of fur before his eyes, but they hardly budged at all, only moving as the youth tossed his head back, catching his neck with the length of his chain, forcing his forepaws back into a forward, slanted bend. Were he easily offended Sergius would have shown it then. Instead he gave a short sigh, having now given up tugging against the chain in fear of snapping the precious item. It seemed stupid, all of this. If he stopped long enough to ponder his predicament he would have seen how easy it would be to unwind the necklace from the plant, but instead he opted to sit put and hope help arrived. Maybe waiting for someone was what made this stupid.
A bloody printed paw reached up, scratching absentmindedly at the back of his ear, relieving an itch that had reared up spontaneously. He used the sensation as an excuse to rid himself of his boredom. But after he relieved himself the wolf found quickly that boredom couldn't be so easily brushed aside and now was left to stare at his surroundings once more, wondering exactly where he had quite literally fallen. The woods were thick, but not so dense they were impossible to see through. The puddles of light illuminating the area were calming in that they revealed a very green world with only a few blotches of brown decay against various dying saplings who only survived their short lives by the barely sustaining light. It was beautiful, he thought.
Despite this, his attention was averted elsewhere as he heard the scrape of claws against leaves and observed above him two sets of eyes. Immediately his ebony tail started wagging, not taking into the consideration that strangers usually meant harm rather than salvation. An unmistakable grin spread across his maw. Hallelujah! "I'm glad someone came! Um...if it's not too much to ask, could you help me get loose?"

Anger, agitation, these negative feelings were something the pup was used to, having quite literally been born knowing these emotions; Liriel's surly mood during the birthing might have in fact sucked most of the animosity out of her daughter, in a strange way. Or tucked it further into Gabrielle's core, who knew? But for sure, she could tune out the lord's prickly attitude, more easily so when she stepped forth from the brush amd neared the stranger.
Such intriguing markings, so happy a countenance, the funny little object that wrapped about the branches of the bush, and the paws . . . Upon closer inspection - that is, Gabrielle literally stuck her nose inches from them, not having a clear picture of what it meant to have a "bubble of noninvasion" everyone carried - there appeared to be blood upon the poor dear's paws! Yet somehow, when she did at last step back to view him as a whole, Gabrielle found a quiet awe and delight settling in her at the intruder's predicament, rather than a sniggering derisiveness that someone could get so easily caught in a bush. "The cross, the dove, so beautiful . . ." she uttered, heading to the front of him to get a better look at that object around his neck. Even better: strange metal rings about his front legs were linked to a small pair of wings which too was hung by a bright necklace almost like her own fur's colors.
There was an erratic thumping of the little one's heart. It was as if God had granted her kindred.
. . . Oh right, getting him out! Shaking her head of the musings, but no less warmed on the inside for it, Gabrielle silently thanked God for the blessing as she nudged her head through the bush to try and snag the necklace and pull it off the branch herself, looking quite pleased.

Clooney's movements had been frigid, but only so that dominance was shown through his fluid motions as he approached the stranger, conveying an underlining sensation of inferiority in the stranger who could only stare on as a sickening fright splintered through his body, starting at the tips of his toes, but not yet overpowering his initial overjoyed relief. The naive smile pleased the Lord. As Gabrielle observed, the male was a beautiful lanky creature whose pelt certainly made of for any other lacking physical trait. From the raven backdrop to the glistening markings along his spine which shown with the same intensity as though light was shining through the chips of shattered glass. The human objects were also intriguing. But the pup seemed to have dibs on releasing the trapped male, snapping his binding within seconds as to admire him further.
The reaction was even more enticing. The stranger grinned delightedly, wagging his tail exuberantly as he stared between the pair, giddy enough to prance around them if he wasn't afraid he might trip and make a fool of himself again. "Thank you so very much!" he exclaimed, "I don't know what would have happened if I was unable to get out of that mess. Ah..." he dropped off, looking down at the flaming female with admiration. "You saved me, that's for sure." But before his lean muzzle could open for another word the breath rushed from his chest and a sharp pain shot through his body, the core being his spine. It took only a second to realize where the vagabond had ended up, knowing his place having seen it many times before, he tucked his ebony tail between his legs with his ears flat against his smooth face as he stared up at the crowned male atop him.
Clooney stood over the skinny creature with his forepaws on his chest, holding him down, pressing the very life from his lungs. His smile, well, his smile wound out of place, twisting Grinch-like at the corner of his maw while his golden eyes stared on wide, malicious, and excited. The male's tail was straight out behind him, flicking back and forth not unlike a pleasured feline. Beneath his powerful paws he could feel the struggle of ragged breath, the quivering of an already fragile body. Oh how wonderful this was! This easy power! Leaning forward, Clooney glided his muzzle over the other's, reaching instead to the strands of fur that obscured the stranger's vision, and reaching lightly forward, flipped the hair out of his eyes with the flick of his pearly incisors. From there his nose tipped down toward his ear, huffing hot breath there, enjoying the sensation of the wolf as he fidgeted from the sensation. "I'll release you, let you live, if you promise to serve me," he murmured, forgetting Gabrielle was there at all. In fact, he had forgotten his own pack, and his promise to his alpha as well. He served Chernabog himself.

He felt elated at the appearance of the pup and her older companion. Even more so with the pup's wide eyed fascination and odd little compliments. He watched as she bent over freeing him from his trap and after shaking himself out proceeded to thank her. Sergius was genuinely happy. What luck had befallen him to have been saved by such a sweet little girl, and her companion didn't seem to have any ill intention for him either. Actually, he hadn't said anything at all. But as soon as he thought he was out of the clearing, Sergius found himself slammed against the ground. The huff of a small gasp escaped his maw as his body contorted to please the dominant attacker.
The weight slowly pressed the air from his lungs, making it impossible for him to gain any sort of ounce of relief or gasping air. Not even a whimper could escape him now as silence riddled him. The only noise he could manage were little expressions of his discomfort as his body wiggled. What was he to do? All he could manage to think about was how he was here in this strange place being held down by this male; not even death crossed his mind. Not until the teeth nipped at his bangs. Shear panic embraced him now. Writhing beneath the larger male wasn't all so a unique experience, but as the moments pressed on he felt unsure of it all, losing sight of how he was going to make it out of this mess or if he even had the will to. The lack of oxygen was working as it was expected to.
The ultimatum Clooney presented also wasn't anything new. Would he give himself up to slavery in order to preserve his own life? This sort of life wasn't honestly anything strange...maybe that was how he answered so quickly. "Y...y-es," he managed, his strangled voice foreign.

So this was a lord in action. Gabrielle remained where she was, just beside the happy stranger, and watched closely as her packmate dominated the intruder with practiced ease, blinking. There was a strange twist of curiosity and pity stirring in her heart: what was it like to be in either of their positions, begging for mercy or offering it? Why did her little dove agree so easily? She didn't have to question why the lord would be so intent on having any wolf join as a slave, being as that was part of his position - not to mention she had heard tales that another of Reign of Terror's slaves had escaped months ago. Desperation on both sides; maybe the stranger wanted a home at any cost?
Still, it was pitiable to her, and Gabrielle grew somewhat sympathetic. "Welcome to the Reign of Terror pack, then, sah," the pup greeted him as cheerily as she could, actually heading to his flank to nuzzle him some. "I'm Gabrielle, but you can call me whatever you want. D'you have a name?"

The Lord lifted off his prize at the "yes" and immediately grabbed hold of his thin chain, minding to take it delicately knowing the thin metal would snap if he was rough with the other male. His expression hardly displayed satisfaction, though the air around him seemed to lighten up a tad. Maybe he wasn't truly happy with how easily the wolf had given in; this stranger just took out half the fun of being a Lord, deprived Clooney of what he craved, only offering just enough to have him beg for more of the sweet high he got from dominating another. He didn't say anything as he dragged Sergius along, yanking him up onto his paws.
All in all, perhaps this would distract him for a while. With his chief prize off missing somewhere, replacing her for the moment didn't seem such a bad idea. Of course this didn't mean he would give up the search to drag her carcass back here, but for now this skinny excuse for a male would have to do. The Lord continued forward, heading back up the hill, pulling the ebony male along with him without saying a word, or even addressing Gabrielle was still there.
