A place of learning and acceptance by all. The Garden was established as a means to quell the ever growing monster population around the world. Youths enter this school and become members of the Specialized Extraction and Extermination Division (SeeD). Through the use of the Summoning Crystal, Balamb has begun experiments with a special form of Summoned creature known as Guardian Forces.
The need for these facilities, set up all around the country, became more apparent as something has begun to cause the event known as the Lunar Cry to occur more often than ever before.
