Satiku sat on the boundary of the Pride to be lands. This was possibly the one time that he wasn't knocked out snoring. Amazing was all Journey could think to herself. The bum was actully up for once. She cocked her head and watched his eye lids start to flutter. Oh it wouldn't be too long now. 'SLEEP BUM SLEEP!' She chanted so loudly in her own mind, that you could amost hear what she was chanting in each breath she panted threw her little cub teeth. Then finally it happened. His head hit the rock and he was out like a light. He wasn't much of a baby sitter now was he?
But this was her moment- her time she shine. She had this small window to escape into the rouge lands before her parents came back from the hunt with dinner. Could she do it? No doubt! Her eyes made one more sweep of the lands just to make sure nobody was watching or trying to follow her then with a bound in her step raced forward into the unknown. She only hoped her parents would be out long enough that they wouldn't catch her sneaking back. The might retire Satiku as babysitter then her days of being free and playing where she wanted would be over.

Aryaisha had a long week of traveling and meeting other creatures, he was sort of looking forward to being alone for a bit. Don't get him wrong ever since deciding that he would try to act more fun he has enjoyed meeting others but some times being by your self is very relaxing. He let out a happy sigh as he enjoyed the silence of the grass lands. The sun was shining and white fluffy clouds were strolling slowly across the deep blue sky, birds were soaring over the trees in the distance and the wind was ruffling his brown and black fur. "What a great day!" He said with feeling as he, feeling playful, jumped into the air and pretended to bat at an imaginary bird. He landed lightly, relatively so, and it was only then that he heard something small moving in the tall grass heading his way.

She kept pace threw the tall underbrush being virtuely invisable to anyone that just glanced in her direction. The only thing that really gave her away was well- her. She wasn't an experienced hunter liker her parents, and so with heavy breathing and loud steps it was possibly enough to wake the dead.
Also had her ears been trained well enough she might have noticed the other male in the distance BEFORE he lept into the air. She stopped only for a few seconds startled. Then did something no 'smart' cub should do and ran at him curious at to what he was hunting.

Always aware of the dangers of the savanna Aryaisha was prepared for just about anything but a small female cub, who had just come running out of the grass directly at him. His first thought was that she was being chased but a quick look around showed that that was not the case, then he thought she might be in trouble but her expression negated that thought. She had the air of curiously about her and her expression showed no hint of fear or anger making Ary think that this cub had escaped her watcher, if she had one, and was having an adventure out here on the dangerous grasslands.
Rather then scaring the little cub into running off, at least he can keep her safe until someone comes looking for her, he kept still and quite, taking extra care not to look scary which was not that hard for him as he always looks a little scruffy.
(soarin could you do me a fav and add a pic of journey in your first post so i can describe her, you changed your sig) sweatdrop

(Taada smile )
It was probally impossible to scare the little cub. She was brave and headstrong everything her mother was- and prehaps abit vein like her father. A dangerous combination for anyone living outside the pride lands. But with a long smile twittering over her maw she stopped dead set infront of the friendly male and went forth introducing herself.
"I'm Journey. My momma is Val and my daddy is Feleji."
The smile seamed to widen as she went into her life story to a male she didn't know.
"Momma and Pappa are out hunting...and my family is boring...and you seam interesting..."
Her tail quirked cleverly to the side as she thought back to the males great bound in the air.
"What were you hunting Mr. Lion?"
Her eyes were transfixed on his with a curious gaze dancing on her little gleeful face.

(thanks heart )
When the little black and white cub stopped dead in front of her showing no fear and started to speak Aryaisha was a little taken aback. Her bright blue eyes were avid as she introduced her self and talked about her family. Ary just sat there with a bemused look on his face, trying to figure out this little cub. So when Journey asked him a question it took him a moment to respond and even though he should have said that he was hunting nothing he decided to make this meeting interesting, "I was hunting the little flying snorks." Of course he was doing no such thing as there were no such things as snorks but if Ary was going to watch over and play with the young cub it darn will be doing something fun.

She cocked her head once more being lost in the excitment of his anwser. "Momma never said anything about wild Snorks. Neither did Poppa..." The look that washed over her face might have suggested that she was going to call him a liar- but her mind seamed to spark up from behind almost telling her that; she was young. Maybe Momma and Poppa didn't say anything because Snorks were most dangerous- and they knew her adventerous spirit too well. With that her expression changed and nodded.
"Oh yes I've been after several Snorks myself...but they are always too high up to catch. I wish I could jump like you."
She beamed up at him. "Maybe you could teach me how to catch them in mid-air?"

Aryaisha watched the little cub's face go from disbelief to belief. And when Journey said that she had been after several Snorks herself Ary just smiled and internally laughed. "Thank you for the complement. And not every lions know about Snorks as it takes a very open mind to even see them." He said gravely trying to be serious, which was spoiled when he smiled brightly. "Unfortunately I do not believe I can teach you to catch them mid-air, as they fly very high and I can barely reach them. That and if I am to teach you I should tell you my name as you cant call me Mr Lion forever." Ary just smiled down on the little cub as he introduced himself, "The names Aryaisha, but you can call me Ary. And while I can't teach you to catch Snorks mid-air I might be able to teach you another way." He paused dramatically and waited to see what Journey would say.

"I kinda like Mr. Lion. Momma always told us to be polite to our elders-" She held a long pause in her tounge. "I'm not implying your old though." She said quickly correcting herself. "I er think you know what I mean, Mr. Umm Ary!" She beamed out threw her teeth settling on what she was finally going to call him.
"Mr. Ary I would be most interested in a lesson or two from you." She wagged her tail in an almost dog like fasion. "Momma and Poppa will be so proud when I bring something back for them." She puffed out her chest happily.

Aryaisha just laughed when Journey called him old, "I am old compared to you, even though sometimes I act younger then you." He smiled at the cub and internally laughed, This should be quite fun.
When Journey mention bringing something back for her parents Ary felt a slight pang of guilt, she would not really bring anything back but her story of Snorks which her parents would likely tell her don't exist. "Well you know I can't promise that we will catch one and they are quite hard to see, one must have a vivid imagination before you could even guess at there passing." He hoped that that would cover any disappointed feelings his little tale would cause, if anything he decided that he would tell her the truth at the end of there little lesson, for lesson it would be even if they would be hunting something imaginary.
With that in mind Ary grabbed a random pebble, "First thing I must teach you is... what goes up," he tossed the pebble lightly into the air, "must come down." he finished when the pebble started its fall to the earth. "So what does that mean?" He asked his small pupil.

Her wiskers quirked back for a moment as she watched the stone go up then drop with her ice blue eyes. Then with a 'plunk' it settled on the ground. "Oh oh oh! I know what it means!" She took a small leap into the air. Then intentionally missed her paws. "Don't over do it or your 'plunk' on the ground too!" She scrambled to her feet with the most unusal grin across her maw. Like the cat who caught the canary. 'Oh yes she was so smart- that had to be the right anwser. That rock after all made quite the show when it landed.'
She probally missed the point of what he was trying to aim at; but in her own little mind she could do no wrong- and neither could her teacher. Even if she had known what she was chasing was not real. "Is that right Mr. Ary?" Again her backside wiggled with the excess of energy.

Aryisha suppressed a laugh as Journey gave her little demonstration and answer to his question. He didn't laugh because he didn't want to hurt her feelings since her answer was not what he was expecting or meant. "Well yes I guess that is right, but it was not what I meant. What I meant was that although Snorks fly really high they must land at some point."
He thought a moment before continuing with his lesson, "Well first thing we must do in order to catch a Snork is to sneak up quietly to one that has landed."

Ah quietly. That might be a problem for Journey indeed for everything she did was with an extra bound in herstep. And the inablity to control how much noise was comming from anyone of her paws- let alone the squeaks of glee she couldn't contain from her mouth. Oh yes this would be an interesting hunting test for the small lioness.
"Okie sure! I can do quiet!" She bursted out of her mouth enough to wake the dead. Then quickly tried to clamp it shut as if her words would come flying back into her mouth. With no such luck she took to padding around in circles infront of Ary waiting for him to point her in a direction.

Aryisha watched as the little cub excitedly and loudly exclaim that she could be quiet before she started to circle him just waiting to get started. He smiled as he thought, Well I guess I don't have to worry about catching any Snorks.
"Snorks have very good hearing, so we have to be very quiet and since I know that I can't move very quietly I think we should practice. Of course you will help me right?" Ary was trying to teach the little cub some necessary skills, after all one was never to young to learn, but he was still trying to make it fun. His mind was thinking of his next step as he waited to see if the little black and white cub would take his bait.

She continued to circle then stopped for a few seconds and nodded. "Okie Mr. Ary. I will try to be quite." She said with a smile trying to be quiter then before. Then all together she was silent and kept still. She really wanted to impress momma and poppa with a snork. It also might be the only way to keep Val from whooping her behind for sneaking off as well. She knew her mother was alot smarter then father in those aspects. She was sure the lioness would catch on to Satiku's inablity to stay awake. And the fresh pawprints leading away from the pride.
But that didn't matter now. Journey would take the punishment. She liked her new friend and she was glad she ran into him. What an adventure she was having hunting flying creatures!
