Medical personnel provide day-to-day medical care to the people aboard ship, and treat injuries just like any other doctor. Medical Cadets do not usually Minor in any other field, but are required to take four elective skills, which may be any science or medical skill. More than two specialization fields are encouraged by Starfleet, but not required. Ship's Doctors should consider taking at least one Medicine: (other race) skill for most of the races that they would normally come in contact with during normal ship's operations.
Medical Cadets have generally completed medical studies on their respective homeworlds, and thus generally start their Academy training at age 25. They go through a different type of training program than do any other type of Cadet. The Academy medical training lasts eight years, and doesn't include any internships.

Lenara looked around at her new students with excitement. This was the first time Peers had ever been a teacher, and Lenara wondered if she would ever get used to the butterflies humming in her stomach as she stood before the Cadets. Here we go. "Good morning everyone, settle down. My name is Lenara Peers and I'll be your Professor during your time here at the Medical Academy. Now, before we begin our first class, are there any questions?"

Felicity Le Fievre Felicity sat there excited to start in her education in the medical field. The past few years had been spent in preperation for this day and finaly, she was able to take another step towards her goal. Her face was set in an attentive look and she had her Data PADD open on a black document, ready to take notes. She looked around her and noticed that the class was fairly small and that made her slightly happy. The less competition there was, the more chance she had to be the best.

"Alright if there are no questions then we can begin." A swell of excitement sent a shiver through the Trill, as both she and one of her predecessors were very passionate about the medical field, especially autopsy. "Everyone please direct your attention to the main viewing screen." As she called for it, the huge three-dimensional image of a human, male body appeared to the class. "We are going to start with a bit of review about where everything is and proper dissection etiquette and then you be assigned groups and can begin work on your own cadaver." Turning her back to her students, Lenara flung the images on the screen around and began describing the various organs and cutting techniques to the class.

Johnathan was running through the halls, more than five minutes late, he burst into what he throught was his engineering class. Of course, it wasn't. Everyone was staring at him, "Uhhh, hi, I'm in the wrong class, aren't I?" The Professor was glaring at him too. Dammit, I'm such an idiot!

Felicity Le Fievre She was happily paying attention to her teacher when some idiot brust into the class before realising that he was in the wrong class. She heard a few people mutter curses at him and insults but she simply allowed herself to slightly glare at him and then look away uninterested by some mentaly challenged human.

"And so the pericardium-" Lenara was abruptly cut off by a young, male student who burst into her room blabbering. Now normally Lenara was a very peaceful person, but interruptions were one of her biggest pet peeves, so she couldn't help but send the poor Cadet a death stare. "What exactly are you looking for young man?" Lenara tried hard to not hiss at the boy, she was a teacher after all, she should give the students a bit of a break. . . at least for the first couple days.

"Engineering, Armory," Johnathan said with noticeable fear, now everyyone was not only looking, but glaring at him. "I'm sorry for the interruption, it'll never happen again, ma'am," he said.

Felicity Le Fievre She turned back to him with indifferent eyes and smile just a bit. She had to admit that this situation was just a tad funny. Everyone was so intense that they would never find it so but it really was. She faught back a chuckle as she tried to hide her growing smile with her curly locks.

Lenara let out a sigh, upset with herself for snapping at the cadet. "At ease cadet. Engineering classes are in the next building over. What's your name?"

"J-Johnathan R. Girio," He said, still very aware that he was suddenly a spectacle. ((Sorry for the one liner))

"Alright Cadet Girio, if you think you can find the Engineering department okay, then I will call up your teacher and tell them you're running late, alright? I can also have someone come over here and escort you to your class should you not be able to find it." Lenara was getting impatient with the Cadet, although she tried to remain clam as the boy was obviously nervous. Lenara gave a quick look to her students to make sure they hadn't become too distracted by this. . . well. . . distraction. Turning her attention back to Girio, Lenara awaited his reply.

Felicity Le Fievre "Poor idiot," she muttered. Her eyes perked at the possibility of someone having to escort him to his class. She hoped she wouldn't be bothered by this issue beyond the depart of the boy. If the class remained distracted she would get impatient and it might not turn out so well for anyone that sits near her and is misfortunate to bug her.
