In the Savanna, a few miles from an oasis, there is a lone black lioness making her way through the patches of tall grasses and through the barren sands. She does not rush, she is in no hurry, she knows that the more you strain yourself out here, the more likely you are to become over heated and die. The sun in in the middle of the sky. No where close to setting, a few vultures fly by, knowing that where there a calm and content lion, there is bound to be scraps as well.
Yaretzi made her way slowly through the savanna, she'd just come from a watering hole and had had the good luck and fortune of not only getting a drink, but also getting a kill to satisfy not only her own hunger, but her demons hunger as well. She smiled to herself in satisfaction, she could still taste the blood on her tongue... she was pretty sure there was some on her muzzle too... She stopped in the grass suddenly, not wanting to have the blood dry there. And she began to groom herself. Licking at the area around her mouth, licking at her paw and rubbing it along her head.
She sneezed momentarily and shook her head. She looked up at the sky. It was weird to see clouds there. But at least it would make the weather nice for travelling.

 Aryaishia was having a great day; he woke up rested, climbed a few trees, met others, made a good kill, and now was having fun racing across the savanna. He had just stopped a small stream to get a drink when a bird flying across the sky caught his attention. His first thought was 'so what' but letting his childish thoughts run free from his adult mindset, quickly created the thought 'wonder if I can run faster then that bird'. Since Ary was trying to revert back to his fun loving days before he had to grow up too quickly, he decided to see if he could indeed run faster then a bird. After drinking his fill, he wasnt stupid he knew the dangers of the grasslands, he waited for another bird to fly across his path and when one did he started to run.
Even after running for a bit, alternating between jogging and flat out racing, Ary was only mildly tired. His muscles were were warm and limber and it seemed like he could go for ever. When a sneeze erupted from somewhere in front of him Aryaishia immediately tried to slow but he was racing at the time and when he saw the black and gold female in front of him, siting and watching the sky, he made a split second decision. Judging the perfect moment Ary yelled out, "Duck!" and with great power he jumped. He knew he cleared the lioness, but didnt know by how much, when he landed a little ways away from her. Aryaisha had jumped quite well but his landing needed alot of work for when he landed his front paws gave out and he went down into a roll.

Yaretzi had NOT been expecting to see a lion rushing straight at her, and when he jumped her, her heart stopped. Her eyes widened, and she let out an idignant cry, not really being able to duck, only being able to spread out all for of her legs in terror. she felt her fur rise and mouth open to bare her fangs, anticipating him to come rushing head long into her, hers eyes were scrunched tight, not wanting to see it coming, only waiting for the inevitable.
So when he didn't go rushing head long into her, she opened one eye, to look towards the direction that he had been coming. Nothing. She turned her head and watched him finish out his roll. Her tail was now a big fluff ball from how frightened she had gotten, and she quickly shook it out before he could notice that he'd scared her.
Yaretzi narrowed her eyes and turned her body, trying to look as menacing as she possible could and let out in a deep feirce voice, almost a bark. "YOU NEED TO WATCH WHERE THE HELL YOU'RE GOING!!!!! D< " A sneer on her face now she took in a few deep calming breaths, and went back into her sitting position. "You could have seriously hurt the both of us if you hadn't been able to make that leap. What on earth were you thinking?"

Aryaisha was in a daze from the tumble that he took so when someone started to yell at him it took a few moments to realize that it was the lioness who was verbally chewing him out. Immediately hoping he didn't hurt her he got to his feet, still being a little dizzy he wobbled a bit before shaking his head and steadying him self. As his black main settled he cleared his thought and asked anxiously, "You are ok right? I mean with all the yelling I kinda assume that you are, but you can never tell with girls... I'm going to shut up now before I dig my self a bigger hole..." he trailed off sheepishly, first he did something incredibly stupid then he sort of insults her. To add insult to injury he felt compelled to truthfully answer her question as to what he was thinking, "Was trying to see if I could out run a bird." he mumbled as he stood there looking for all the world like a little cub who just got caught doing something that he shouldn't have.

Yaretzi stared at him with an 'oh my god are you ******** serious?' kind of a look on her face, "You were racing a bird?" Her jaw was open in her disbeleif, shaking her head and having no idea how to respond this cub in a males body. "a bird?" she muttered to herself, trotting over to him, a hard look on her face. Not in an angry agressive manner, but in a sort of way an angry mother would approach a cub that's done something wrong. "Now I'm fine, but that's not the point.t he point of the matter is, you could have hurt us both, becuase you were CHASING. A. BIRD." She stressed the last bit, putting emphasis on the bird. "So let me ask you this question, did you even BEAT the bird?"

When Aryaisha started to get chewed out like a cub by a mother he started to get irritated, yes he did something extremely stupid but he was a big boy and no one got hurt by it. He didn't feel threaded by the lioness so rather then respond in anger as he once would have done long ago he responded in logic, "I'll have you know that while I might act like a cub on occasion I am fully an Adult, both mentally and physically. I was quite sure I could make that jump, baring any anomalies." He said this all quite seriously then with a boyish smile finished by saying "and yes I did beat the bird, well for the most part. See there it comes now." Ary nodded to a single bird winging its way across the sky, he could be fair and mention the fact that the bird had not flown in a straight line but more of a zigzag pattern while he ran straight but he didnt want to admit that little short coming in front of a cute lioness, after all he was a male.

Yaretzi wasn't impressed with his quick ability to try and put off the fact that he could have potentially hurt them both. "Mm-hmm." She said flatly, a no s**t sort of attitude on her face. She could not however, stop the small smile that tugged at her lips, ans hook her head laughing lightly. "Good, becuase that would have been damn embarrassing if you HADN'T beaten an Animal that normally flies in not straight pattern." Yaretzi raised her head to look up towards the sun, squinting her eyes slightly. "See?" She said, pointing out the fact that the bird was lazily zig zagging.

Aryaisha just laughed when she pointed out the bird who was lazily fly erratically. "But that was the fun of it, just letting loose and trying to fly. Not literally of course but when you can run full out it seems sometimes that if you could just jump high enough you would never come down again." He said this softly with his eyes on the soaring bird.
Giving a shake of his head, his black main fluffing out then settling, Ary gave a rueful smile, "Well any way... I guess I should introduce my self as I was the one who almost flattened you... Names Aryaisha" He said giving a comical bow. "Sorry about trying to run you over by the way." He added with a sheepish look.

Yaretzi stared at the male before her while he talked. She'd always been good at reading people, and right now, she was reading that this male was really just a kid at heart. She smiled, a rare thing for her and let out a low chuckle. "Have you tried it on solid ground?" She kicked up a bit of sand with her paw and looked down at it, past it, almost. As if she wasn't even really talking to him. "You go twice as fast. Next time you're near a cliff next to a lot of water, get as much speed as you can and jump into the water, it's an amazing experience." Her smile faded slightly as she came back to reality.
"Yaretzi." she replied shortly, trying not to roll her eyes and smile at the kid before her. "And you should be sorry."

She really is quite pretty when she smiles, he silently observes as Yaretzi described the feeling of really flying, or more accurately falling. Aryaisha got a look in his eyes that basically screamed that he would love to do that. "I'll have to keep that in mind next time I find a cliff and water, though I would think that it would have to be deep water for it to be safe." And when her smile faded he blurted out with out really knowing, "You should smile more, you are quite pretty that way."
Once that embarrassing sentence escaped from his mouth he immediately used a paw to block anymore stupid words from bypassing his brain and leaving immediately from his mouth. Just as he smiled behind his paw the wind kicked up sending his main into yet more disarray making him look distinctly rascally and scruffy.

((I'm so sorry it took me this long to tag you D: I feel so bad >>;; ))
Yaretzi nodded her head absentmindedly and then felt her neck crack as she shot her head up to stare at him in disbelief. Had he just called her pretty? She raised an eyebrow and looked at him as if he'd just grown another head. It was a dman good thing he was acting embarrassed about the whole thing, otherwise she'd have to make sure he didn't make the same mistake again. She didn't like being called 'pretty'. She didn't consider it a compliment, when a male calls you pretty, then what he's really saying is that he doesn't consider you his equal.
"Yeah..." She said, not at all impressed, not at all acting like a regular female that she's seen swoon and giggle at simple compliments. Her face was now a an emotionless mask, not quite angry, not quite happy, just... there. "You don't socialize much do you?"

Aryaisha could plainly see that she was not pleased with his inadvertent complement. She really was quite pretty when she relaxed a bit and was not quite so empty. Ary could relate since that was how he felt when being serious was his life, like emotions were pointless and control was everything. He wished he knew some way to show Yaretzi how to play but Ary knew from his own experience that it had to be a internal thing and no one could teach another.
"Well I'm working on that. I learned when I was growing up that it was safer for a youngish cub to avoid others when possible so I'm making up for it now." Even though Yaretzi was showing no emotions Ary still smiled, inviting the lioness to laugh at his crazy antics.

Yaretzi rolled her eyes at the male lion before her and shook her head, looking off to the left, or to the right, depending on where he is in location to her, so long as it's in the opposite direction. She sighed then, as if she was doing some great big thing that was totally something she didn't want to do, and turned back to look at him.
"Please don't tell me were...." She gave a pained look, as if the very thought made her want to gag. "INTERACTING?" She said the last part as if it were some vial curse, cringing and closing her eyes as if she'd seen a spider, before looking at him dead serious and saying in a sarcastic voice. "Because I'd have to kill you if we were."

"God's forbid!" Aryaisha said in mock horror, "Interacting? I think not my fair maiden. What we are doing is communicating. It is completly different from interacting!" He said all of this with a dead pan expression, only a spark of laughter in his eyes gave him away. He was not entirely sure if what he was doing and saying was such a good idea but so far it seemed to be going alright, well except for almost running over her at first. She really was quite intriguing, it seemed like she disliked him yet she is mocking him in a friendly fashion. I don't think I will ever understand Females he thought as he waited to see what she would do because of his sarcastic comment.
