“Broken Glass”
All of the promises that you promised now lying on the floor.
Pieces of me, Pieces of you.
Like broken glass.
You promised forever. Only if I knew, That you really meant never.
Those pieces look so familiar to me, The ones on the floor. But now I see who you really are.
Broken.
I see your scars, I see your pain. Your fears and your game. That you were hiding for so long, Behind your false wall that was between you and I. Always hiding the truth. Never knowing what was right or what was wrong.
I became weak as you became strong. You owned my heart. You chose to shatter it into the broken glass lying on the floor.
Now I am becoming strong as you become weak, Soon the broken glass will be gone. All the pieces on the floor.
As I pick up my pieces, I see your pieces, alone. I cannot touch them, They do not belong to me anymore.
As your pieces remain on the floor, I put mine back together, Through my tears.
I want so badly to fix your pieces, But you won’t let me. So, I pick up my pieces, And finally see, That I am me.
And all of the broken glass, Is no longer broken.
