It's called E3. An expo that once contatined all the information you'd ever need on the upcoming video games that would grace shelves the following year.
With the proliferation of the internet information exchange, most game companies opted to do their own press then rely on an expo and E3 died.
Well its back baby! And its has new trailers, announcments and info to keep us looking forward to the future of video gaming. I've tried to include every worthwhile trailer here as well as a detailed commentary on some of the games courtesy of Play MAgazine. (The ONLY video game magazine you need to read)

As already mentioned, Star Wars The Old Republic looks superb, and at least to me will be the first MMO that forces me onto Xbox Live (or simmilar online service) no gameplay video yet though...

Batman: Arkham Asylum. Finally, the Batman game we've all been waiting for inspired heavily by Grant Morrison's comics and the recent (glorious) Dark Knight film, with voice actors returning from the batman animated series. Sign me up!

Might have to get me a PS3 soon, Demon's soul's look amazing. A new game announced by Atlus (this is how E3 used to be you only announced new games at the expo) featuring a traditional fantasy world that looks grimy and epic.

Assassin's Creed, an endlessly addictive assasination game where you played the part of a hooded killer during the crusades is finally gettting a sequel (and hopefully, given how abruptly the first one left off, a conclusion) Set in France during the Renassance it looks like everything I wanted from the first one and then some. (no gameply trailers yet though)

Dante's Inferno. Looks like a blatant God of War rip off. But when your talking epic God of War action set in a gothic hell based on Dante's INferno...can you really complain that much? Looks good to me.

From the creators of the wonderful (ly hardcore) Devil May Cry games comes BAyonetta, Devil may cry on steroids, with more platforming, the ability to transform into animals, cast spells, and playing as a hot witch chickl with guns on her heels. I've been waiting for a DMC succesor, this might be it.
