Sezer, who was quite in the dark about the power of his eyes, merely gazed at her patiently as he waited for her response. The uplifting he felt at her accepting his invitation was stomped down when she rejected his hand. Why, that was part of it all... But he'd just have to be a quick thinker and work around it. He attempted to stamp down the rejection he felt, and managed to squish most of it, thankfully. Admittedly, Joel's silent encouragement did help a bit. He decided he'd have to thank him later for that. He then offered Vlaityn a smile as he walked ahead of her and held the door open for her. Once she passed, he let himself out and walked beside her.
"Vlaityn, I realize I've been acting very odd and I must apologize to you. I never meant to anger you or distress you in any way, shape, or form." He announced to her whole-heartedly. He took a deep breath. "In all honesty, the truth of the matter is I was jealous. For the first time in my life, I was jealous." He continued on before she could comment. "I know it's ridiculous! But I feel so horrible. I've been focusing on nothing but my schoolwork for the past two weeks when I have a girlfriend. I know you said you didn't mind, but I figured you weren't telling me everything, because I haven't been there for you. And then, earlier today I went looking all over school for you. I'd finished my studying and I was going to take you to Hogsmeade," he confessed in a rush, taking little breaths here and there after sentences, "and apologize for neglecting you, which is what I'm doing now, so I've no need for it anymore. ... But I'll apologize to you as many times as you want." He added as an after thought, meaning every word.
He took another deep breath. "And when I saw you down at the lake with Seth, with your arm around his shoulder and you two heading off to Hogsmeade, well, I jumped to conclusions. I... I thought you liked him, and that you two were heading out on a date... And I see now that I had no right to accuse you of that - even in my head - and again, I apologize! Please, believe me, Vlaityn, I am so very sorry. I've gone and ruined your day, and you looked like you were having a good time." He fought the urge to take her hands. Abruptly, he stopped walking. "And I know you're not comfortable with relationships or anything, and that you don't like compliments, or when I beat myself up, but I'd like to be there for you. I'd like to continue being your boyfriend and your friend, too. ..." He trailed off, his rant abruptly losing steam. "I suppose what I'm trying to say is... Please forgive me, Vlaityn. I meant no harm. I was just being an assuming prat, and I'd like to continue being there for you. If you'll let me."

Vlaityn had stopped walking long before Sezer had, and even before he had finished his rather long and apologetic story. And she hadn't done it out of rudeness or for lack of paying attention. But she merely had to to process what she was hearing and feeling.
What she heard, of course, was Sezer's explaining of recent events. His countless apologies. Which were sweet, of course. But did not entirely change what Vlaityn was feeling, which unfortunately was a good deal of anger, hurt, and confusion.
"You thought...." Vlautyn started and had to swallow her words before starting again. "You thought that I would just bounce about behind your back with another man? You CANNOT be serious! Well, maybe not anymore, but that is exactly what you were thinking, wasn't it?" Clenching her fists slightly, Vlaityn was hardly able to believe the large blow to her pride this was dealing. "I am so terribly happy that, although you were incorrect for once in your damn life, I appear the type of girl to go do such a thing! I know I'm not the kindest, warmest, most affectionate girl you could have gotten stuck with, and I'm sorry it was me that got dealt to you, but, but.."
Vlaityn took a slight step back and put her hand over her mouth, attempting to compose herself. She was quickly changing from indignant and irked to hysterically sad. Especially when Sezer was trying to apologize, of all things. He was trying to get the situation over with and she was just making a scene. Taking a deep breath, Vlaityn looked back at Sezer sadly, but with no anger.
"You think my lack of comfort with our situation means I don't care as much as I actually do." Vlaityn stated sadly. 'So it is my fault. Again.'
"I'm sorry. That's not what I mean to be like. Really." She finished softly, feeling herself slump slightly in self defeat.

Sezer winced visibly at her harsh criticism of him and how he acted, yet he did not once have any thought about how she might've been incorrect. For she was correct, that was just it. He was horrible for ever assuming such a thing before he'd talked to her. And Vlaityn was completely in the clear to be yelling at him as she was. Unnecessarily, he nodded his assent at her rhetorical question. This what he deserved; he'd take it like a man.
But then, when she switched tracks and started berating herself, it took a good deal of willpower to keep himself from shouting over her. When she was finished, and when he noted just where she was standing, he strode over to her purposefully, again fighting the urge to take her hands (as he had a sneaking suspicion that it would help to convey his point if he did so). "No! Vlaityn, you aren't that kind of girl! I know you aren't." He visibly bit his tongue to keep himself from dishing out compliments and from listing off all the reasons, as he surely would for any other person, why she was a good person and was most certainly NOT that kind of girl. His eyes became saddened as he further took in her comments. This time he took both of her hands in both of his, uncaring, for the moment, what sort of reaction it would instill in her. "Vlaityn, I haven't gotten stuck with you. If anything, you've gotten stuck with me. You didn't get dealt to me. I chose you. .. You chose me. We chose each other. Please, don't ever think bad of yourself on my account. I would say at all, but I know that's highly unlikely." He trailed off once more, thinking seriously.
'As she actually does?' He questioned himself. He opened his mouth once more, "Vlaityn, my de--" he bit the inside of his cheek to keep himself from referring to her as "my dear", "I know you're afraid, and I wish you weren't, and I'm not going to try to change you, but I wish you saw yourself the way I see you. I think you'd be surprised." He offered her what he hoped was a reassuring smile and dropped her hands he'd picked up in the heat of the moment. "I know you didn't mean for me to perceive it that way. I've just been on edge all day ever since it dawned on me that I had been ignoring you. And, once again, I'm sorry. But please, forgive me?" He inquired hopefully, shifting his stance slightly without meaning to so that he was angled more toward her.

As Sezer strode forward and moved his hands, Vlaityn flinched for a mere second, almost expecting him to do something other than grabbing her hands. Which immediately made her feel even more guilty. How could she let her thoughts accuse Sezer so? He was such a charming, peaceful boy.
Although she continued to silently berate herself, Vlaityn stood and listened intently to everything Sezer had said. And he was right. He was always right, damn him. And when he did drop her hands, she not only felt wrong, but also slightly empty. After a final beg of forgiveness from Sezer, Vlaityn stood in silence for a moment, comprehending what he had said, and what she felt. Mostly, she felt guilty. And overly thankful for her Sezer's enduring tolerance, especially when it came to her. And heavens knows one needs tolerance when it comes to Vlaityn.
Heaving one last sigh, Vlaityn looked back up into Sezer's eyes, trying to form the exact words that would quite perfectly indicate how much she truly wasn't angry anymore or blaming him for anything. But they weren't coming and even if they did, Vlaityn knew they wouldn't be completely eloquent. Thus deciding that, she had to do something for an answer.
In one swift motion, Vlaityn had put herself straight into Sezer's arms, for lack of anything to say at all, at least clearly. Vague mutterings of "It's ok, of course. Well, is it ok? I'm not afraid. I don't think. Well, not of you." All become lost and muffled in the barrier that was Sezer's shoulder. Finally giving up on her butchered speech, Vlaityn pulled her head back slightly and grinned ruefully up at her boyfriend. "You know, I did not feel ignored by you. If you had been giving less than the current amount of attention you were paying to your NEWTS, I would have personally ate my shoes with a pinch of salt."

Sezer was, needless to say, quite surprised to have a heap of flesh suddenly in his arms. Despite himself, he grinned and respectfully wrapped his arms around her upper back, relinquishing his hold only her slightly when she opted to look up at him. He took in all her words thoughtfully, thinking each and every one of them over in his head until he was fairly certain that he had a pretty good idea of what she was thinking.
"You didn't?" He echoed when he'd regained enough of his wits about him. "Even though all I did was study, study, study?" He inquired further, scrutinizing her with his gaze, almost as if he didn't believe her. However, after a few seconds of mental deliberation, he decided that even though he did not quite believe her, that didn't mean he didn't believe her, either. Once she finished, acting on pure instinct, he pulled his closer to himself and gently rested his cheek atop her head.
His voice was muffled by her hair as he commented further. "Then what are you afraid of?" He asked softly, for once getting straight to the point and droppings all the mannerisms. After another moment of thought, he attempted to joke again. "About that eating your shoe bit, that can't be too healthy. I wager I won't let you eat it. I could stop you if I tried, you know." He grinned privately to himself, pleased that everything had worked out so lovely. And yet, a little voice in the back of his mind demanded that he find out just what she was afraid of, if not him. Patiently, he awaited the answer.

"You could stop me?" Vlaityn cocked an eyebrow and laughed into Sezer's shoulder. "I don't believe you could stop me from anything if I was being stubborn!" She stood up for herself adamantly before laughing again. "Or if Joel was on my side. Then you'd have to give in, of course!" Vlaityn grinned smuggly, hugging into Sezer tightly.
But as the silence stretched on, Vlaityn knew she wasn't safe from the question, even in Sezer's arms. He expected an answer, and to deny it to him, of all people, would just be rude. Not to mention a sharp blow to their relationship perhaps. Feeling extremely nervous, Vlaityn sighed again for the ump-teenth time.
"I really don't know. Nothing. No, maybe everything to a degree." Vlaityn felt herself detach from Sezer slightly in obvious shame and slight fear. "Of caring too much. Or too little. Or of anybody else caring. Or letting you down. And you leaving school." Swallowing slightly. Vlaityn looked down. "Or me." She murmured quietly.

Sezer sighed contently in an inaudible manner into her hair. He was really enjoying this new, what was it called, PDA. If he remember correctly, and he almost always did, previously Vlaityn had not been such a big fan of public displays of affection. And he was pretty sure she was, too. That is, she wasn't pushing him away and she didn't seem uncomfortable; therefore, he took that as a good sign. Sezer was actually referring to his wand, but both he and she knew he'd never use it on her.
Sezer looked down at her quizzically, tilting his head slightly, and in the process sending his glasses in danger of falling off of his nose again. He was oblivious to this all, though, of course. He frowned at her gently, still attempting to understand.
"You want to know what I think?" He inquired softly. "I think you should stop worrying about all the what ifs. Or even the whens. Because they're not today. And they're not right now." Mentally, he added more, but kept that bit to himself. "Yes, I do care about you. And yes, I think you care about me. And yes, maybe that's not the safest thing to do, but it has benefits, you know." He smiled at her slyly, and yet still managed to like shy at the same time. Then he abruptly turned somber. "Vlaityn, you don't have to tell me, don't feel as if you have to, but, why would you be afraid of yourself?" He asked in the same gentle tone.

Fawn looked at her homework as she walked forward. Does the Incarcitous curse kill after being left alone without the counter curse? I don't know. Where's a Ravenclaw when you need one? Not noticing where she was walking she collided into the older Ravenclaw boy tripping and her homework flying everywhere. "Watch were your walking! I was just minding my own buisness and you came out of nowhere! Geez!" she started looking for her homework before noticing the patch on his robe. A Ravenclaw "I'm sorry truly I am."

Sezer looked up incredulously as a young Hogwarts student collided with them. While he did privately think that it was a bit of an amazing feat for her to be able to run only into him and not into Vlaityn as well, provided they were embracing at the time. He withdrew from the embrace, albeit somewhat reluctantly, to scrutinize the young girl with his gaze. He frowned just a little, his manners kicking in instantaneously.
"Yes," he commented slowly, "well, that's alright." He responded, stooping and gathering a greater portion of her homework for her. He rose to his feet and handed it out to her politely. "Just be careful and watch where you're walking." 'I always thought it was easy to do one's homework while walking. Hm. I suppose I'm just talented.'
Just then, Sezer appeared to notice that she was still lying on the ground, after having somehow managed to trip over him. He bent again and offered her his hand, pulling her to her feet when she took it and once again thrusting her homework at her. He felt he was inclined to be at least a little irritated with her. Though he did a considerable job of keeping that irritation off his face, he thought that Vlaityn or Joel would be able to read him. And since Joel wasn't here, that left Vlaityn. So, with that realization, he fought to do a better job of replacing the slight annoyance on his face with a mask that showed no particular emotion. Though he suspected Vlaityn had already noticed and that she might decide to become a tad bit cross with him, he thought it fruitless to attempt to change her mind when she might not even be angry with him. He'd learned that lesson the hard way. And Sezer was a fast learner. He wasn't about to piss her off again so soon.
Thoughtfully, he racked his brain for her name. He found it fairly quickly. "Miss Reins, do be more careful would you? You could injure yourself." He waited with a little less than considerable patience for her to take her homework; he himself having by this time acquired all of it form the street.

Vlaityn was instantly irked at her embrace with Sezer being disrupted. It had been a long time since she had felt comfortable in anybody's arms, and she was having a grand time, even if the conversation was less-than-euphoric. It was the contact the was important at the moment.
But it had been interrupted by a mini collision. Vlaityn thought of snapping, but bit her tongue as she considered the poor girl might have bruised herself. 'What was her name again? Wasn't it like an animal? Uhmmm....'
"Fawn! Watch it deary! You can get quite a bump that way!" She fussed about the younger girl in a worried manner. "I bet Sezer toppled you on purpose. He's so cruel." She accused Sezer before cracking a smile and prodding him in the side.

She accepted Sezer's help and took her homework back, blushing all the while. "I'll try. I seem to be having a lot of trouble staying on my feet lately." She then turned to Vlaityn and said, "Aren't all guy's like that? Just so they have an excuse to help you out? By the way, congrats on getting Quidditch Captain. Its about time Ravenclaw had some good leadership."

Sezer pretended to look embarrassed from Vlaityn's comment. He fiddled with his glasses. "I did not." He retorted half-heartedly, somehow managing to keep from grinning at Vlaityn. "I'm not that cruel." He added as an after thought, sounding somewhat like a whiny puppy who didn't get a tenth dog treat. He noticed her blush and privately thought to himself that while it was odd, that is, he at least wasn't used to people blushing around him for his gentlemanliness, he reasoned that it was because Miss Reins, a fourth year Gryffindor, was not at all used to it. He thankfully decided to spare her further humiliation, however.
Sezer nodded to himself at Fawn's words. 'That's right. Vlaityn did make quidditch captain, didn't she? Have I congratulated her on it yet? ... Hm. I believe I might've, but, if I'm not mistaken, we weren't together then.' He frowned only slightly. 'Maybe that's what the picnic I was planning should be for. Previously it had no particular reason, it was merely because I thought I'd been ignoring her, but now it can be congratulatory. Yes. I think she'll like that.'
He smirked at the Gryffindor. "Contrary to popular belief, all blokes are not like that. Our generation has simply been raised differently than past generations." Wisely, and in a display of rare noncockiness, he kept a comment about how he acted differently than most of his generation to himself. 'Though I am right. It all has to do with how you were raised.' He cleared his throat once more, if only to keep from verbally pushing her on her way. That simply would not do. It was very rude. And Sezer was nothing without his manners.

"Sezer's somewhat right." Vlaityn quipped in cheerily, shaking her head towards Fawn. "As much as I usually prefer the company of men, they do appall me. Except for Sezer here. He's quite the gentlemanly catch." Laughing slightly, Vlaityn covered her mouth as if to block her dialogue from Sezer's ears as she staged whispering to Fawn. "But don't get your hopes up, I think he was the only good one left."
Turning her attention from Sezer related topics, Vlaityn grinned in an almost embarrassed fashion at Fawn's compliment. "Ah, thanks. It was a big surprise, honestly. I was just so content with being a Beater." A disjointed laugh forced it's way out of her mouth. "And I get so damn frustrated with the team sometimes. Gotta keep my head in place."

"Darn, I was hoping there was a good one out the somewhere. Maybe back in Portland. You two will visit occasionally right?" Fawn was desperate to show her dad she had at least some aquiantances back at school. Her face twisted in disgust when she wondered what her father would do if she brought a date home. Probably chase him out via his shotgun. The poor guy, he'd never know what hit him. At least he wouldn't mind meeting Selena, one of the few friends she had due to the Slytherins teasing her about her tomboyish nature, she was a nice girl.
