Kaleidoscope peeked out from behind a moss covered tree, fuzzy puppy ears pricked foreward as he watched the zig zag flight of a small bird, when the bird perched on a branch loking in the opposite direction the small pup stole silently through the bushes to get closer.
He'd been following this particular bird for quite some time - it was a type he's never seen before brown with a curious red cap on it, it had this peculiar habit of pecking tree's too. Made an awful racket...but Kale wished to know why the bird choose to beat it's beak on the wood...maybe it was sharpening it? In any case he knew if he watched it long enough the answer would become apparant.
In fact he was so engrossed in his study of the bird that he'd completely lost track of time and had wandered rather far from the den and his siblings, not that this fact crossed his mind at the moment.

He hadn't been too far from Gommorah himself, he wasn't really the one to leave the safty of his mother. He loved Hurricane but there was some special bond he seamed to have with Piper. Something he just couldn't seam to put a paw on...just like he couldn't seam to explain why he was attracted to running in storms- or why strange things followed him about.
But today he was out exploring, a bit further then his normal boundaries. Maybe this was par to the fact he was getting older and a bit more bold; or it could have been the strange noises he herd from the woods. Probally the later, he never had heard quite a racket then the one pounding on the trees today.
It was by following this that his nose picked up a scent that wasn't even remotely related to Gommorah's scents. 'Oh darn...I knew I should have stayed with mommy in the packlands...something out here is going to eat me.'
He stopped and sat on his rear debating how fast he could run to Piper's paws.

Kale peered out from between the leaves of a few fern's glaring with indignity at the tri-colored pup whom had just sat down right under the tree with the strange bird in it. For sure he was going to scare it off - then it would fly away and who knew when Kale would get the chance to observe another one?
flattening his ears slightly in the equivalent of a puppy scowl Kale pushed his head out of the ferns and called to the pup.
"psst...hey...hey you! come over here before you scare it away!"
Kale whispered urgently, his mind was not at all bothered by the fact that he didn't know this pup, it was far to occupied with worry over loosing the chance to observe the bird and he cast a quick glance upwards to make sure it was in fact still there.

"Wuh?" He turned his head towards the sound calling him. It was thank GOD another puppy. He wouldn't have to worry about getting eatten- at least today anyway. "Uh alright...I'll come by you." He whispered back quitely slinking over like he had just been put into his place by his parents.
'What a strangly colored pup.' He thought to himself. His parents must have been bodly marked to get anything as bizzare as that passed threw genes. And he knew he had never seen wolves like that anywhere near gommorah so the only thing was that it must have come a striking distance to get here.
"Are you uh...lost?" He whispered again hoping that if he couldn't maybe his mom could find it's parents. He wasn't even paying attention to the bird anymore. 'RUDDY ANNOYANCE...' He flattened his ears agaist the back of his head. And with that the thing that had a tendancy to 'follow' him showed up again. Blustering above him it made tiny thundering noises and sparked ever so slighty.
He looked up at the bird that stopped pecking and flew off. Oh great now he done it. The 'thing' seamed to spin like the wind a few more times then completly disapeared.
"I'm sorry about that...I didn't mean to do that- that just you know happens..."

Kale was pleased when the pup came over towards him - forest knows his siblings never listened to him. They were always tumbling about playing thier crazy games instead of learning about the things around them - rubbish.
"What?"
Kale asked, clearly having his attention focused elsewhere, of course that was rude so he made an attempt to answer while trying to puzzle out what the bird was doing.
"Lost..no...I don't know,just followed the bird - it's not really important, why do you think it does that?"
He asked completely ignoring the fact that his new companion seemed to think it was an annoyance. Of course before the other had a chance to answer some weird flashing thing showed up and the bird flew off. That was a dissapointment and he huffed slightly before wagging his tail and turning his mind to the next puzzle.
"wow..what was that? do it again, are you some sort of spechial wolf?"
Kale peered at him from every angle,trotting around him as though he was looking for something.
