User ImageHe'd gone off again, hunting something to eat for him in and his sister. He knew she was hiding in the hole at the foot of the tree he left her at, because that's just what she did. Braden wasn't sure why, but it just happened. Never once did the minute older male question her. Did he have the rights to after everything he put her through? Not in his opinion.

His pray right now was a big juicy rabbit baby. Rabbit was difficult for him to catch, but he was sure going to try hard. Bailey had said that she was tired of eating mice and lizards all the time. What's better than rabbit? he thought to himself, crouching down low in the tall grass. The rabbit's eyes were focused on something else, so the boy hadn't been caught yet.

Creeping slowly, his big paws carried him ever closer, rustling the grass around him. That's when he saw the bunny bolt and he looked desperate for a minute before taking off to follow it. "No! Come back here!"

Cathaoir was taking a drink at a small stream, that ran through the area. The tall, rustling, grass brushed against his legs, as a warm breeze flowed through the air, a small voice was carried on the breeze, but the reddish-brown male couldn't make out what it said.

A minute later, the grass rustled again but this time not because of a breeze. he turned and saw a grey rabbit flash by. Instinct took over and the Saigh shot off after the rodent-like creature.

The tiny creature's short legs carried it quickly, but not fast enough to out run Cathaoir's much longer legs. The Saigh caught up to the plump bunny and easliy disabled it, by snapping it's neck, beneath his left forepaw.

His.... rabbit had been eaten. Someone killed the rabbit he was going to take back to his twin and now he didn't know what to do about it anymore. A kitten growl left his throat as the blue eyed male charged and bit down on the adult's ankle, though hardly enough to hurt the other one.

"That was my bunny! I needed it..." He broke off and looked away, to upset to face the other. "How am I supposed to feed her now....." If he could cry, big tears would be rolling down his fluffy cheeks, but instead, he curled up into a ball and started to whimper a little. "She... she was counting on me to bring her a bunny..."

Cathaoir looked down when something attacked his ankle, it was a young Saigh "Why are you so sad?" Cathaoir asked nudging the cub gently, if I give you the rabbit will you stop crying?" Cathaoir pickedup his paw off the carcass of the bunny and pushed towards the younger male, "Cause you can have it and give it to..." Cathaoir trailed off unsure of who the female the cub was talking about was.

This is why I'll never become a dad, cubs are so confusing! Cathaoir sighed, "How about this, I'll carry the rabbit and you show the way back to the girl, that needs this rabbit so bad. How's that sound?" Cathaoir leaned down gently gripping the rabbit between his teeth.

Braden blinked at those words the adult spoke and grinned up at him with big watery eyes. "Of course that's ok! I mean, it's more than ok!" He laughed aloud and jerked his head in a 'follow me' kind of motion.

The brown cub lead the adult back to the spot he'd left his sister at and gently chirped for her. His blue eyes looked around until he spotted the familiar green ones of his twin and his heart slowed down. He'd been so worried about her being by herself; he always was worried about her. Tail wagging as he told her to come out, someone had brought them food, he watched as she moved in sight.

Bailey hated it when Braden went off by himself. But she would only get in his way; she knew that. She was weak and small compared to her twin. Bitting down on her bottom lip, the female came in view and moved over to nuzzle under her brother's twin, purring softly. She didn't see the elder male yet, which is why she was so calm and seemed so submissive.

Licking his chin a few times, she finally noticed the adult and went to run, but her brother had a hold of her by her tail. He listened as he told her it was alright, that this guy was going to give her the bunny, and it helped calm her down a little more. Which was good. Looking up at the male with those shining green eyes, Bailey tried to smile and then looked down, to shy.

Cathoir dropped the rabbit in front of Bailey, then sat down couple feet away, it was obvious the young female, who was obviously was related to the younger male, was frightened already. He gave the cub a toothy grin, before introducing himself, " Hello little one, I'm Cathaoir." He paused before adding. "That little guy, really loves you, ya know, he attacked me when I caught that rabbit. Seems that he was chasing it to bring it back for you." The redish-brown male nodded towards Branden as he spoke. When he finished speaking, he began to clean the rabbit's blood off his paws.

"O-oi! Don't say embarrassing things!" The cub said with a blush coming on his cheeks. He didn't want his sister to know how much he loved her. That was way to mushy for him. He cleared his throat and looked to Bailey before nuzzling her head a little. "Eat it. I'm not. Rabbit's to stringy for me," he mumbled under his breath.

The girl laughed and looked to the rabbit before looking back up at the adult. Then to her brother and gave a little laugh. "Heh.... I know he loves me." She said, biting into the rabbit. She listened to the ripping sound and spat out the fur. She hated that part. Then she dug into the actual meat, getting blood all over her maw and paws.

Cathaoir laughed, "Nothing to be ashamed of." He told golden male, before realizing he didn't know the cubs' names. "So do I get to know your names? Or are they a secret?" He asked in a joking tone, as he watched the girl rip the fur of the rabbit and digging in to the meat.

Braden blinked at that and then grinned. He nearly forgotten about introductions! "I'm Braden.. and that's Bailey. My little sister and my twin...." He said, looking towards her with sad blue eyes. It was rather sad, their whole situation, but the elder male didn't need to know about it yet. Braden didn't trust anyone with their story. They wouldn't understand how he wants to stay with his sister, or why.

[Mine's pretty short too.. ^^]

Cathaoir could tell Branden was upset about something, but knew that if the cub wanted him to know about it, Branden would have told him. So instead of pressing the young maleto tell him, like some Saigh might do, he grinned and said, "Well it's very nice to meet you, Branden and Bailey." The redishbrown adult ran a paw over his ear while asking Branden, "Are you sure you aren't hungry? Cause I'd be willing to go find something for you."

Braden shook his head. He'd eat way later, after Bailey was asleep from a full stomach. He'd never eaten in front of his beloved sister before, and would love to keep it that way. So Bailey didn't lose respect for him. "I'm good, but thanks, I guess. I mean... I'll eat when I'm hungry?" He gave a weak laugh at his own feeble attempt to lighten up, but he watched his green eyed twin like she was the sun.

And Bailey went unaware of her brother's harbored feelings and stares. She was eating and happy with the rabbit, clearly a simple minded little girl. Which was for the best, really, since her brother was so headstrong, someone had to balance him out, didn't they?

Cathaoir nods at the younger male, "Okay. That makes sense." Unlike the cub's sister, Cathaoir noticed Braden's constant staring, getting up the adult walked over to the golden male, he whispered, so Bailey wouldn't hear, in a joking, "Why you staring? 'Fraid she'll disappear if you look away even for a second?" He looked over at the young female, before adding in a more serious tone, but still a whisper, "She's lucky, ya know.... To have a brother like you,"

That made the male beam with pride, that he was the best big brother ever. That's the way Braden read what the other had said. He looked to his sister with a huge smile on his face and watched her eat. She wasn't delicate about that; and he was glad. If she was, she'd be a picky little creature and would probably be skin and bones!

"Thanks, Cathaoir..." He said with a chuckle. In all honesty, he was worried about her disappearing. "I just... want to make sure she's ok. I mean, look at her. She's so little... and pretty. She could be cubnapped or something."

"I'm sure she'd be fine, I don't think she is the type to get herself into trouble." He said, remaining in a whisper. "I think she'd most likely hide from anyone who isn't you, or with you. A shame really, she so pretty and few eyes have been able to see her." He walked over to the other cub, looking at what was left of the rabbit. "Wow, you were hungry weren't you, little miss?" He asked in a normal voice. "Should I go find another rabbit for you?" He gave her a toothy grin, before walking a few feet and turning to look at the cubs, waiting for an awnser.

Braden blinked a little and then gave a little noise. He was hungry, but he didn't know if he should go with the older male. Looking back to his sister, he frowned and sighed. "....I'd go with you, but..." He motioned to the smaller female and gave something of a little smile. "Yeah... I could use a bunny, though.. You're a good guy!"

The female flushed at his statement and she looked down to the nearly eaten corps, ears pinning back. "We... We can't always get.... food," she murmured softly. She wanted to hunt, but she didn't think she could kill something like a rabbit. It was so cute, but when it was dead, she didn't think about the cuteness. She thought of it as meat. "I'm sorry, Braden... I didn't save you any..." Bailey was always feeling guilty about little thing.
