Raiders WILL WIN!
QB- Jamarcus Russel Will flourish with new recivers and a potent running game and an improved offensive line, Jeff garcia is a great option as well, he is one of the best at protecting the ball and he is a WINNER
RB-Darren McFadden battled injury problems but when he produced the raiders won, 4.3 speed nuff said, Justin Fargas, fights for the tough yards, very scrappy, a poor man's thomas jones. Michael Bush, 6-1 245 finally got significant playing time week 17 and rushed for 177 yards against Tampa.
FB-Lorenzo Neal-Nuff Said
WR-Javon Walker, he is trying to prove he can still play and he is working harder than ever to be back on top. Johnnie Lee Higgins, this speed demon will become the next Steve Smith very soon. Darrius Heyward-Bey ran 4.3 flat and he has size at 6-2 210. Chaz Schillens was the steal of the 08' Draft, the raiders 7th round pick last year looked like a young T.O when he made his way into a starting spot last year
TE- Zach Miller, he is one of the better TEs in the league, a poor mans Jason Witten
OL off season additions of Kalif Barnes and Samson Satele make this line solid, with Robert Gallery (who experts say is a all-pro Guard on a winning team) and Cooper Carlise and the RT spot is the only position of question, Cornell green and mario henderson will battle for a spot there (hopefully jon runyan soon! xd )
DL-The raiders run a defenive line much like spagnolo, lots of rotation, Gerrard Warren, Tommy Kelly, Terdell Sands, and William Joeseph cover the DT spots and the DE positions are ruled by Derrek Burgess and Trevor Scott (5 sacks as rookie last year)
LB-All pro calliber LBs Kirk Morrison and Thomas Howard Headline this Core that leaves the strong side backer situation cloudy. that spot will be competed for by Ricky Brown and Jon Alston
CB Nnamadi Asomugha is purely the best CB in the League and the other side is taken by Chris Johnson who broke out in the deangello hall mess as the clear cut starter. chris johnson works with Deion Sanders in the offseason and is consistanly getting better.
S-Michael Huff, Michael Mitchell, Tyvon Branch, Keith Davis, Hiram Eugene will all compete for the two starting spots at Safety
K- Sebastian Janikowski still has the strongest leg in the league but is very inconsistent
P-shane lechler continues his reign as best punter in the league

Cute. While they do have the tools to win, Davis will once again find a way to have the team self-destruct. I mean seriously, how many times is he going to step in the way of the coaches from doing their jobs? He tried to do that when Gruden was there and Gruden would not let him. They made the playoffs that year and the year after Gruden left, they went to the SB and met Gruden there. After that, every coach that has been there has just basically withered and died in that organization. Same as pretty much any player as well.

If the Raiders have a favorable winning percentage by the end of the regular season, I wouldn't say it was from them being good, as much as them being lucky for being in a weak AFC West division.
Bottom line, San Diego is still the top dog of this division. While the Raiders might make strides in catching up to them, I think the Chargers will play more consistant this season than the previous one. They should have control of this division for at least one more year.
The Broncos have done nothing but taken steps backwards since the regular season ended. Maybe their new head coach will work wonders, but Mike Shannahan was one hell of a coach. And trading Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton, their offense will be struggling for a little while.
As for Kansas City. I like Edwards, but I think KC is a lost cause for him there. With their main weapon, Tony Gonzales gone, this team will flounder at the bottom of the barrel of the NFL. They may show signs of improvement, but overall I think this will be Herman Edwards last season here.
Ranking predictions.
1. San Diego Chargers 2. Oakland Raiders 3. Denver Broncos 4 Kansas City Chiefs.

Broncos will do better than people think. If Orton catches onto the offensive schemes by the start of the season, they will not be missing Cutler in the least. Cutler and Orton are the same mold and make the same decisions. The only difference was that in Denver, they had the Recievers to make the catches. In Chicago, they had squat.

Ok listen. I am in no way shape or form a Raider fan, although I think they're fans are very passionate about the game, whether the Raiders go undefeated or go winless. But if you're arguing about how many Superbowls your team has won in the past, stop right there.
The San Francisco 49ers have won five Superbowls and lost zero. Does that mean that they're the best team in the league right now? No. Or look at my other favorite team the Cowboys. They lost T.O. and ten defensive players who put up great stats last year. Are they Superbowl bound already because thye've been to the main stage eight times? You answer that one.
Look, the Raiders have talent no doubt. Jamarcus Russell / Jeff Garcia tandem at quarterback? Great! Darren McFadden is one of my favorite players at running back, not to mention Nnamdi Asoghmua is an automatic shutdown quarterback. But this is going to be a major downhill battle for you if you wanna argue that their offensive and defensive lines are solid, because to be quite honest, they're not.
Let the Raiders stick to one coach per year and let's see where they go.
In the meantime, the Chargers are going to be excellent next year. They were injury-prone last year and now with all their regular starters and back-ups coming back healthy, I think they have 4-1 odds of winning the whole AFC West.
See, everyone thinks the Broncos are gonna do bad, and at one time I agreed. But compare the weapons to throw to between Chicago and Denver. Not even close. Orton OR Simms will be throwing to Eddie Royal, Brandon Stokley, and Brandon Marshall. Not to mention with the additions of Knowshown Moreno, Brian Dawkins, Correll Buckhalter and Robert Ayers. Expect this team to come in strong, only to lose the last three games to miss the playoffs. xd
And finally the Chiefs. This team is a mystery, only because Matt Cassell played QB under a system, a system made by the current Broncos head coach. The head coach thinkg with Todd Haley may turn out good, it may not. Tyson Jackson will do outstanding on the DL and Alex Magee will assist him along the way.

You want to call me ignorant raider hater? Dude, why would I hate them? I mean I root for Jamarcus with him being my wife's cousin. Or did you forget that? As for my analysis, it is correct. After Gruden, Davis has been involved with every aspect of the team instead of sitting back and letting the proper personell do their jobs. The same thing with the Cowboys and the Redskins and now with the Browns as well. It has been proven that when the Owners get involved with all aspects and get to choose the players and the decisions of what the team does, they screw it up. I mean come on, I am not the only one else who sees it. The general public along with Raiders fans dont deny it either. Oh, and this here has nothing to do with Championships. Since Davis took over after Gruden left, he did nothing the next year to the team. Then he started tampering with it and they have been nowhere since. When they were successful was before he started mingling in the affairs of the team, not after.

Broncos:the last few games of last season made me think WTF I mean you need to make the playoffs now with a new coach and a new QB who knows Chargers:might be in the playoffs Raiders:No playoffs very inconsistent team whenever they win one game they lose it's like Davis wants to waste money on his team Chiefs:No playoffs but I will suspect a couple of wins but they'll suck.

For once they are going with someone who has a history of being a team player instead of just a name with padded stats. By picking up Ellis the Raiders will finally have a good defensive line that will be effective ALL season long instead of just half the year. LOL
