He wasn't as young as he had once been, that was for sure. He noticed this as he stood from his nap and felt that dull ache in his joints; the ache brought about from too many nights sleeping outdoors. Thankfully, his white fur helped hide his age and the grey hair at his muzzle and brows wasn't even noticeable - unless you got within inches of his face.
He yawned then, silvery whiskers puckering, eyes squeezing closed. Morning dew clung to his fur and when he shook, it dazzled the air around him. He sighed, long and low, and turned his head to gaze about him.
So, what was he going to do today, then?
First, a drink!
Shaking his mane, the old male moved across the landscape, silent and elegant - his motion ghostlike. His name was Kebwa, and though he had long forgotten its meaning, it was all he truly had of his past. The name his mother had given him.
How he had ended up here was a bit of a mystery. His memory was covered in cobwebs and dust and he struggled to grasp anything from his childhood or younger days. All he knew was that this was home now, among these new lions. He felt at ease here. He felt...useful.

Dharba had found his home but yet it hadn't been home anymore. The lands he was born in had changed or maybe he had changed. Either way it was no longer home.
He wasn't as young as he was, he was a lot bigger it seemed and really different and seemed to have kids popping up here, there and everywhere! He didn't know about most of children nor did he know he had cubs in two different prides from one litter. He probably wouldn't have cared if he had known about the various cubs that he had. His first litter he had known about and it was something he never wanted to remember.
He allowed his paws to lead him. He didn't really care where he would end up, he would return to his cubhood home afterwards because it was still somewhere he felt safe and comfortable.

Were his eyes deceiving him or was that a lion up there? Yes, it certainly seemed lion shaped. So, was this another member of the pride he had joined up with? Yes, it probably was. This one had the look of mist about him, too.
He cleared his throat and forced his legs to move faster so that he might catch up with the other lion, raising his head and giving a hoarse sort of grunt.
"Hey there, fellow, I wonder if you could help out an old fool of a lion." He gave a light chuckle. "I'm looking for something."

Dharba looked up noticing the male and smiled. Might as well be nice, the male didn't seem to want to cause harm and just because Dharba was feeling a little sad and confused was no reason not to be civil.
"Hello." He wasn't sure why the lion was calling himself an old fool, he didn't look that old. Dhar had seen older looking lions on his travels.
"Sure, what is it you are looking for?"

He smiled, bobbing his head and drawing to a halt just before the other lion. A nice young male, he seemed. His pale, watery eyes met Dharba's and for a moment he seemed to hesitate. What was he looking for again?
He tried to put his mind on it but couldn't seem to grasp it. Dammit. Now what was he supposed to do? Just say he'd forgotten? Then he'd really look like a senile old creature well past his sell-by date.
He cleared his throat and opened his mouth again, speaking slowly and carefully. "I was looking for something quite important. My...my grandchild. She's about this high." He lifted his paw to aboiut knee-height. "Grey pelt, marked white. Full of energy, she is." He laughed, smiling. Maybe he had been looking for his granddaughter after all.

Dhar listened to the male and then shook his head. He had not seen any youngsters about to be honest if he had he probably wouldn't have really noticed them enough to remember actually seeing them.
"I am sorry I haven't seen her."
Dharba was better at avoiding others then anything else. He seemed to only find trouble in others, Ivie, that other grey female... he really should have asked her name but a good night was a good night.
"Where did you loose her?"

"Ah well, never mind. I'm sure she'll turn up at some point. She usually does." He realised he must sound like a terrible grandparent, but truth be told, he wasn't very good at keeping up with her. She was full of energy and her spontaneous nature made her impossible to keep under control. He adored her spirit, though and taking care of her had given him a new lease of life.
"Where? Oh. Um. Somewhere back there." He tilted his head somewhere to his left, not really sure exactly where he'd last seen her.
He trailed, looking at the male through slightly squinted eyes. "Sorry, I don't think I introduced myself, did I? I'm Kebwa. Ancient of the pride. I take it you are one of the ghosts of the mists, too?"

Dharba wasn't overly sure what to think of the male, he didn't actually seem that bothered about her being missing but he wasn't about to say anything. He didn't overly care for his own children, mostly because the only litter he knew about had caused him more trouble then he cared to remember.
"It's nice to meet you Kebwa. I am Dharaba and yes I agreed to join the pride." He sighed. He would go back to the mistweavers one day just for memory sake. It was the only time in his life he was truely happy but alas not anymore. He hadn't the slightest idea where his brother or sister was and he didn't care all that much for his brother but he had enjoyed playing with his sister.
"I am a Scholar."

"A scholar!" He blinked and a smile spread its way across his face. "A well-learned lion. So you know much of the old pride, I take it? The one where many of the lions left? I must admit I do not know much about it myself. I had happened upon the lands only a couple of weeks prior to the leave. I joined this pilgrimage a little later than everyone else but I am glad they agreed to have me."
He sat, feeling the need to take the weight off of his legs. "You miss your old home?" He could not miss that sigh. "Understandable. From what I saw it was a pleasant enough place. But bad history, I take it?" He shook the bangs of silvery mane from his pale, watery eyes.
"I've never had a permanent home so I cannot quite understand your loss. Like loss of family, perhaps it will heal with time?"

"I will miss it though it wasn't really my home. I was born there but then due to well a lot of issues with who was in charge, my mother had something of an argument and we all left." He spoke in a pretty normal tone, he wasn't going to show real emotion in front of someone he didn't know.
"I had only returned recently to remember my cub-hood as it were. I was invited to come and well, with what I know it made sense. I learnt much from while I was there when I was younger and it seems a lot and not much has changed while I was gone. My mother left and now it seems as if the whole pride is." He wondered if the lands really were cursed. It would explain many things if it were.

"Sounds like you've had a life full of drama. Perhaps now you will find peace and your place under the sun, hmm?" He smiled a little and thought of his own past. Yes, life certainly had its ups and downs!
"Sometimes its best to move on. Perhaps a lot of people had bad memories of the place. And as I heard, there was quite a drought. To start anew, with new rulers. New lands. New way of life. Change is good. Certainly good." He clucked his tongue in thought. "I spent my whole life moving from one place to another. The only reason I chose to settle now was because my old bones couldn't take it. Besides that, the place suits me. I am fond of the morning mists." He chuckled light-heartedly.
"I would enjoy it if, on a lighter morning, we could spend a while discussing the past? I am an Ancient without much knowledge of the old ways of your pride. I would love to learn."

"Yes a better morning would be a good time to have a good chat." He smiled at the older lion knowing that what he had previously said was true but easier to say then do.
"Would you like me to help look for your granddaughter?" He might as well offer to, he didn't have much to do now. It wouldn't be good of him either if he were to allow this older male to search alone for a youngster who could probably, if feeling playful run rings around him.
