 So this was the ocean..?
In his dream, he stood at the boundary where land met sea, his armored hooves sinking in the soft sands where the waters pulsated around them. The moon hung silver and full above him, turning the gentle waves into countless diamonds flickering with each breath like the clear skies above. It was a beautiful, breathtaking sight, though he found it odd he would see a place so clearly when he'd never once seen such a vast body of water.
"Dreams are magical like that," was his simple response to his own thoughts, seeing no reason to keep the personal conversation silent when it was, after all, a dream.
"They take you places you'd never otherwise go, so you can see the world without leaving the comfort of home." Whatever home is for him, anyways. Sure he would tend to wake up in random places, sometimes rather close to where he'd been in his dreams. Did he teleport? What other explenation is there? Surely that must be what took place, it wasn't like he got up and walked there himself - he'd remember that!
Hocus lowered his great head, sniffing the strange water before giving a snorting sneeze. The water smelt... weird. Good thing one doesn't get thirsty in dreams, he wasn't too sure he trusted the strange substance enough to take a sip. His serpent's tail began to twitch and sway, pondering where exactly he should take this dream. Perhaps he should will himself to the mountains..? Or maybe the desert ~? The forest was always nice, or even the lake with its sweet water... oh the possibilities with dreams! "Just so long as it's fun~" he amended the thought with a smiling nod.
Oh the possibilities indeed ~

Glitch sneered, cursing the light of the moon for shining so brightly upon her form. It was when she was out in the open like this that she disliked her coloring, the white standing out along the shoreline. If anyone else was here surely they'd see her, she didn't need to be nagged about her foul mouth or her strange looks, she got enough of that during the day.
Night was the time to enjoy things, not many soquili were awake at night and when she seemingly appeared from the trees in the forest the other soquili bolted, thinking she was a ghost. Nights like that were always... perfect, no need to worry about listening to complaints and criticisms.
The mare paused, glancing out at the ocean, wondering what kind of monster she could be mistaken for here. If she rose from the waters surely they would mistake her for some sort of sea beast? She snorted, making her way towards the water, "Dumb*sses"

Or, maybe instead of traveling, a new element could be thrown in all together. He could deal with that, too.
The sound of hooves falling against the sand behind him made his ears twitch in interest, tail flick in excitement as he pondered what exactly his dream had in store for him. Carefully he turned, a foal on a holiday morning, his senses filling in the blank his closed eyes missed. Walking moonlight ~! Like a dog, his tail flicked and swayed in a total display of joy, noting the seeping shadows atop the being's head - hair? oh my - the glowing spot where he supposed its eye was.
He felt no fear then, even with the strange flickering and fading that formed parts of its body. It was so tiny, so slender compared to him, why would he even blink - well, assuming his eyes were open - at such a thing? Well, perhaps he'd blink out of shock, an "Ooo~" already slipping from between his maw.
"What an interesting one indeed," was his open remark about his dream, watching the pale other with a smile on his face. "It's not everyday one sees such a fascinating sight~"

Ears flicked at the sound, A scowl played across her face, of course immediately after she had wished not to meet anyone she would, it was just typical. Her brow furrowed, eyeing this strange Stallion, for surely he must be strange to be out alone this late. She gazed at his form, noticing the snake like tail, the protected hooves, the lack of a mane, things that made him physically bizarre. Of course Glitch had no complaint, surely her appearance was just as odd, if not more.
She looked upon him grimly, of course she would become the freak show once again, "Fascinating?" she snorted, "like I haven't heard that a thousand f*cking times." She peered at him, it was always the ones who started off nice who caused the most pain, or at least the ones who didn't start off with freak or run off at the sight of her. Doubtless once he knew of her true nature he wouldn't stick around for long, best to get rid of him now, her foul language typically did the trick.
"Typically people prefer not to see such sh*tty creatures ruining their f*cking day, so we tend to stay out of the view." She muttered, hoping this would drive him away so she could enjoy her night.

Hocus would have blinked, though he did c**k his head to the side, mouth an innocently perfect 'o' at the sudden hostility the other one sent out - correction, the female sent out. Oh the embarrassment to not know a mare at sight, he really must get out more ~
"Why wouldn't they call you that?" he inquired with a laugh. "I've never seen something like you in my life, and I'm quite happy to have at last seen someone so new." As her cursing continued, his smile grew. "In appearance and vocabulary. You know, you're the first person I've heard swear in years." True that - dream or non, no one around here seemed free enough, or rude enough as sometimes the case may be, to let their language include curses. Yet her... so refreshing!
And at the same time... rather... saddening. His ears pinned back slightly, he lowered his head at her rather depressing statement. "Now why would they say something like that..?" His tail twitched, memories swirling about his mind unbidden. Being so large, so reptilian yet equine, he was used to the stares and the whispers, the nudges and the pokes. Sure the hooves as well once in a rare while, the confusion and the ill treatment just because he was different, but he would only shrug it off, go curl up somewhere and fall into a pleasant dream.
There was enough good in this world he'd seen and dreamed that he never had to dwell on the once in a blue moon bad.
"Without such wonderful and beautiful oddities in our day, life is so boring. Surely you must have met someone who's day was made all the better just by meeting you."

A laugh escaped her lips, "Perhaps it has to do with the way I f*cking look?" she snorted, wondering why he hadn't left, looking discouraged or disgusted. "But of course I meant that in a sarcastic manner, but it seems my sarcasm is sh*tty." A wide grin spread across her face, if he was trying to be friend her just so he could crush her, well she wouldn't let him in. "Most *ssholes find my vocabulary juvenile," she said leaning towards him, trying to discover what his dark intentions may be, willing her glowing eyes to peer into the depths of his soul.
"You must be blind," she muttered, stepping around him so he could get a better view, "I'm not the loveliest looking b*tch in case you haven't noticed, oh ho ho and at nights, well... people tend to f*cking run." She raised an eyebrow, "and with that experience I can f*cking say your eyesight must suck, because your still f*cking here."
Her face grew warm for some unknown reason upon hearing his words, "surely you jest? Wonderful? Beautiful? No one finds freaks like me to be either of those f*cking things, and no f*cking b*tches nor b*stards would find a day with me enjoyable." She scowled, slowly regaining her composure.

Again her hostility only brought on a confused expression, a frown as he fought to understand why his dream would create such a horrible past for the one before him. With that thought, why any would be so mean to the uniqueness that was this walking shadow and earth bound moon. "I think you look fine," he said simply, ears flicking as the smile snuck back onto his muzzle. "And your vocabulary is immature - but I like it. Everyone's so stuck up and serious around here." His body heaved, a disgruntled snort popping out his nostrils. "Much prefer your blunt ways then that.
"Even though I've always found sarcasm rather strange - I'd rather just say what I mean than twist everything up."
As she continued, Hocus' head raised back up, his mood brightening as she battered at his words. Was this some kind of game? Felt like it, the way she rebutted everything and kicked the challenge back to him. Even if she was a little delusional, he thought. "Oh, I can see you just fine." How strange indeed, for his eyes were closed. Yet he could - he could see everything as clear as... well, "day". "You're all white, like the snow, or the stars, or the moon! And you've got a mane like a shadow, and... strange, mutli-colored things around you. Like the haze of clouds around the moon." He threw his head up towards the silver ball above, though there was no clouds this evening to go along with his description.
"And are you sure they're not running to play a game? Like tag maybe? I bet you'd be really good at it!" He gave another laugh, prancing forward a few steps towards her like a foal, tail swishing behind him like a canine's would. "I get the feeling you just didn't give the others time to get to know you - or maybe you just misunderstood the situation. Either way, if either side gave more of a chance to meeting one another, I'm sure you'd find a lot of others would like you and think you're neat, too!"

Glitch was... puzzled, she hadn't encountered someone who had lasted this long and continued to barrage her with an attack of compliments, it was odd. She stared at him, in awe as she searched her mind for some come back, some sort of way to reply other than with silence. Stuck up and serious? Her words returned to her and she snorted, "And how many stuck up b*tches have you encountered to know you prefer my way of f*cking speaking?" She glanced away from him to look at the sand, "twisting things up can make it less sh*tty feeling or more, depending on f*cking how you use it."
She looked back at him, frowning, "comparing me to such f*cking pretty things is pointless..." She couldn't discern his motive, what did he want from her? Was he trying to make her feel good so he could crush that seed of hope? She sighed and followed his eyes, gazing up at the moon. "Well if your not f*cking blind... then your eyesight must be poor just the same, because I look nothing like that."
She snorted, digging her hooves into the sand, "You think they wanted to play a f*cking game?" she glowered at him. "Oh yeah it definitely sounds like they want to play when they are calling you a freaky *ss b*tch" she scowled before letting out a long sigh. Her eyes drifted to his tail and she chuckled, "I wouldn't know if I was any f*cking good..." She glanced up at his face before snickering, "I'm content without them thinking I'm f*cking neat."

His tail flicked side to side, his head following the same pattern as he pondered her question. "A few now. They were nice enough, but they weren't able to just let go and say what they wanted, y'know?" Manners were nice, don't get him wrong - he could easily understand the tact in using them, how they could help introductions and tense moments pass. But... they were so stiff! And boring! Oh to hear such vulgar language for once... it was a breeze of fresh air in its foul nature!
But.... huh. That was a new way of looking at it. "Why would you want to make it more horrible though? Wouldn't it be easier just to say how bad or good you're feeling?" He laughed and grinned, pawing at the earth playfully, "Then others would understand you better, and if you're happy, they'd be happy - and if you're sad, they'd try to cheer you up!" Emotions are infectious after all, and no one likes it if someone's sad. Unless they're mean, but that's another story and not one to help this situation. What a strange dream this was indeed!
Him? Blind? "I'm not blind, but you might be. You're just not seeing yourself clearly." His tail stretched out, pointing to the water behind them. "Look at your reflection, and then the moon's - you might as well be twins!" The maneless skull began to move slightly, unseen eyes moving over her form again, then to the orb above, then back - silently comparing before giving a firm nod of confirmation. "Just need to see yourself in a... different light, I think."
Example A. Hocus' ears flicked back, head lowering again at the horrible words. People called her that? His muzzle twitched in thought, tail retracting to coil around his middle loosely, the tip tapping against his back like he'd seen a two-legger tap its chin with a finger. "Probably figured you'd beat them, so they were nasty to you to avoid losing," he stated matter-of-factly, easily sliding over the harshness of the subject. Ears perking at her admittance, a plan quickly swept through his mind. "...if you don't know, then how about we find out~?"
Suddenly he bounced up, spreading his legs to lower himself to the ground in a fashion of a teasing, playing colt. "C'mon, Moon Lady! Let's play tag! Then, once you see how good you really are, you can go prove it to those meanies and show them how awesome you are!"
Because tag is the universal sign of coolness, don't ya know.

Glitch smirked, letting her eyelids droop slightly as she watched him, "maybe that's because it was best if you didn't f*cking know what sh*t they were thinking. We are cruel b*tches afterall, only thinking of our f*cking selves, not one of us could give a sh*t about how they might be making someone else f*cking feel." She grinned, that's all manners were good for, keeping the *ssholes from saying all the terrible sh*t they were thinking. Manners made them shut the f*ck up when all they could think of was rude things to say. Of course, it was true for her as well, but she had grown to prefer the dislike of others from the start.
If no one bothered trying to like her, no one could get close to her, and so no one could hurt her. Being rude was a defensive mechanism that had grown to become a habit, and swearing was probably her favorite thing to do.
"If I said how I f*cking felt, it would make me a vulnerable piece of sh*t. Besides," she snorted, "my feelings have all gone to crap anyways." A genuine smile appeared on her face, though slightly twisted as it had grown to be, it had come as a result of amusement at her own words. "I doubt any f*cking *ssholes would try to cheer me up though..." she grinned, "I'm not the kind people like to f*cking help, perhaps the sh*ts would help someone like you, but not me."
A sigh escaped her as she watched him, ears wiggling slightly to catch the sound of his voice. "I've f*cking explained this a sh*tload of times..." she muttered, glancing briefly at the water before turning away, "I know what kind of sh*tty b*tch I look like, I don't need to be f*cking reminded... and it's nothing at all like that cursed sh*t of a moon."
Her eyes squeezed shut as she tried not to summon the memories of when she was a foal, the images of her sitting alone as the others played. "I doubt I could f*cking beat anyone," she snorted, "since I don't know how to play any stupid sh*tty games."
She opened an eye to glance at him, noticing his bizarre posture. A snort left her muzzle, "That's not my f*cking name," she chuckled. Bizarre stallion.. she thought, watching him. "I'm not awesome either."

"Oh come on!" He groaned, pouting like a child. "Lighten up, Ms. Moonlight!" He frowned slightly before the grin spread back across his face, still crouched for play. "You really need to play some games. It's a good way to relax and unwind!" It really was strange, how sad his dream companion was. He had to cheer her up! Had to! There were baddies in the world, yeah, but there were good things too! Just... had to find a way to show her that, that's all.
Yeah. He'd show her there were good people, good, nice people who'd like her for who she is no matter what... then maybe she'd start to turn that negative attitude and sneer at those who'd be so mean to her, because she'd know she's better than those idiots!
"Feelings might make you vulnerable, but that's why you need friends! So then no matter what you say to them, or how vulnerable you might be for a moment, they'd always be there to protect ya and give you an ear to rant to about the ickies of the world."
He slowly began to circle her, his tail whipping through the air as the promise of play began to further excite him. "But for now, Ms. Moonlight... I shall teach you how to play tag!" And with that, he bolted forward the few steps needed to nudge her shoulder with his muzzle, darting back away from her. He stopped after a small distance, crouching again with a grin on his face. "Tag! You're it! Now you've gotta try and tag me! I'll run around and stuff, try to hid or something, and you've gotta outsmart me and tag me so I'm it and then I've gotta try to tag you!"

"Games are f*cking stupid as h*ll" she snorted, snickering at his odd posture. "Why in h*ll should I lighten up?" She raised an eyebrow, scoffing as she watched him. Games didn't sound relaxing in the least, just more stressful. Besides, if she lost or tripped it would just give him something to make fun of her for. Playing along didn't sound like the best idea. "Who says playing a sh*tty game will make me f*cking unwind?! Who says I even need unwinding?!" She shouted, smirking.
She shifted slightly, narrowing her eyes as she dug her hooves into the sand. "I've done f*cking perfectly fine without any b*tchy friends before now, besides friends can also just stab you right in the f*cking back. You shouldn't let your guard down around anyone... And who says I need to f*cking rant?!" Was it possible that he had never been insulted or betrayed? How could he be so irritatingly cheerful if he had...
Her train of thought was interrupted by the nudge and she blinked, startled as she looked at him. A scowl appeared on her face as she took a step toward him, "what if I don't want to know how to f*cking play?" She grinned, eyeing his hooves as she slowly walked towards him. the sand will make it harder to run and with water nearby... there isn't very many places to hide within close reach...
