It had been a rainy day on the African plains. The scenery looked almost entirely gray except for a little green streak wandering about the plains. A little water never bothered Pilate. She wasn't tough but she did have a strangeness to her. Not much bothered the cub; it would almost have to be a blatant in your face thing like a death to get a distressed emotion out of her. That and murder, she didn't approve of murdering for no reason. If you ate it fine, but to kill just to kill out of hatred was something the not so young cub didn't grasp.
Her legs had grown quite a bit since her journey began. Her legs were nearing stilts for one, she was growing leaner and faster. Something the cub was proud of though would never openly tell anyone how proud of her self she really was.
On the cheetah cub went into the gray oblivion. Even though this cheetah seemed she was focused on reaching a destination the truth was she had no destination today.

Alastair stomped through the mud, a frown on his face. This was another time when he was soaking wet and didn't have shelter. It's not like he didn't mind it, but he did wish he had someplace dry to return to. He sighed, this was the life of a traveling rogue.
He turned his attention to a different smell other then the earth and rain. Someone was approaching him. He shrugged, not exactly worried, he kept at his usual pace, a sturdy set walk toward the new comer.

The green cheetah hadn't even noticed the brown male ahead of her. She was in her own little world until it happened. Wham, smack into something hard. She'd walked right into Alastair's hind leg, good and hard. Though she only hurt her self in the process. Pilate shook her head and looked up at the big mass of fur.
"My aren't you a furry rock," The cheetah groaned as she lowered her head. That was gonna leave a mark on her forehead for sure, she was already feeling the effects of the head ache.
The rain continued to pour down upon them and the cheetah just groaned.

Alastair let out a small growl of a surprise, "What?" He turned, blinking. He suddenly burst into loud laughter, "Oh my, excuse me, I'm terribly sorry!" he chuckled, but composed himself. "You need to watch where your going." He said matter-o-factly but grinned down at the cheetah. "I'm Alastair. And yes, I am a furry rock."

The cheetah leaned her neck back so she could drink in the full image of the 'furry rock'. He appeared to be more lion like then rock like, for sure.
"Hey, your a talking lion like furry rock?" The cheetah giggled some. "And wet." The curious little cheetah got to her paws and took walk around the lion before sitting back down where shed been before, "My your a big fella too!"

Alastair puffed out his chest. "Well your a bit on the puny side, and, not to mention, love, your green." He gave her a playful wink. "Well I am older then you are. So, it's only natural Im this big. Plus, I am a lion." He smiled down at the cheetah, this was the second time he ever met one, and she seemed friendly too.

The cheetah looked down at her paws at the compliment. No one had ever complimented her green before. Called it odd, yes but not complimented.
"Why thank you," She smiled, "I can see your older, and quite strong and big." This was the first full grown lion male the cheetah had ever laid eyes on. And she had thought the females were impressive, but the males took the cake by far.
The rain started to wave down a little but the clouds stayed. The rain fell in a misty haze.
"Look at that, the rains stopped." Pilate looked up at the sky expecting the sun to pop out, but only gray greeted her.

He chuckled, "Yes, for the time being." He looked back down at her, "So, what's a young lady like yourself doing out here? Traveling by yourself?" He smiled, letting her praise sink in ever so much. He wasn't, to be honest, that strong, or as strong as he'd like. But, he would take that he was big, and he was. "Would this little lady like some company?" he nudged her gently with a paw.

The cheetah smiled up at the seemingly kind stranger. She was very trusting a very naive but even then this lion seemed like a big fluffy sweetie. She hadn't been headed any where but the company would be nice.
So she answered ," Sure! I haven't had any company all day. And what better company can you ask for then a brave lion," She smiled up at the other.
"Are you headed anywhere?"

He purred deep in his chest, "Not really," he looked around. "I just travel, and..I guess you could say I 'sight see'" He chuckled. "Well then, point me in whatever direction you wish little lady and I'll follow." He didn't mean to stare, but he found her green pelt rather mesmerising. It was very stunning, and not like anything other lions or cheetahs he had seen. He did like greens, and he finally realised how much when he had met her. It suited her, he thought.

Pilate usually paid no mind to her fur coat. It just was part of her and often times gave her away. Hard to duck down in brownish grass when your pelt was radio active green. But she never disliked it either.
"How about," The cheetah thought for a short while. Where did she want to go? For a cub her age she was well traveled. Still, places to go, where to go, it was always hard to pick. "Lets go north," She finally came to a conclusion and purred.

"North it is then," Alastair smiled. "So tell me, whats your story miss..." He trailed off, "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name." He looked down at the green cheetah, her pelt made it look like she had a small glow to her.

The cheetah started off in her dance like grace as she speed a little ahead of the lion. Not much though. Being a cheetah made her move so fluidly that it was hard to tell when she was pacing to fast.
"My story?" Pilate looked back at the lion, a little perplexed. She blinked before smiling, "I don't know if I really have all that interesting of one. But if you want to know you'll have to tell me yours too," The cub giggled, "Names Pilate. May I ask yours?"

Alastair smiled, "Well that sounds like a deal." He nodded, "My names Alastair....Pilate, now that's a name I've never heard." He smiled trotting to keep up, "I like that name."
"And, don't worry, my story is probably going to bore you to sleep." He purred almost to himself.

Pilate looked back over her shoulder at the stranger lion and smiled back at him. He seemed nice, "Thats alright, you can tell me anyhow," The cub nodded.
"There isn't much of a story or me either, just a wander. Always have followed the wind," The cub looked thoughtful for a second, "Not sure why but I don't remember my birth family. But I have an adopted sister I live with and shes my only family right now. . . " It wasn't the hard back cover story but it was the basic over all view. Maybe she'd tell him other stories in depth another time. "What about you mr. furry rock?"
