The small girl sat in the center of the ring of flowers, gazing around observantly. It was nice they had such things in parks now. She was sure it was only a matter of time until those horrible 'teenager' creatures came and destroyed such a pretty garden for fun, though.
Oh well, best enjoy it while it lasts, yes? More so since she had to pass the time somehow. Noharu had brought her here, said she'd 'be back', and casually strolled out of sight. Of course, the Tale knew well this was just another attempt to 'abandon' her. No worries. Her sister would ask where she was, and her 'mother' would be right back here to pick her up.
"I don't see how that could be fun," Onoway mumbled to herself, oddly enough in the voice of a young boy, watching a group of children play a rather rough game of tag.

Pales walked with Armel, well it was more like Armel was walking Pales. The boy had the man's hand and was pretty much leading him whereever the boy wanted to go. The tall man just seemed to take it all in good natured stride and a small amused smile.
Armel was amazed how much better and easier it was to hold hands with his Da. He could lead him anywhere! Though sometimes Da would become stubborn and use his weight to out vote him about where to go. Today was Armel's day however.
They came up the path near where Onoway sat, but suddenly Armel stopped and stared. She had green hair, and what was more it looked natural. Pales almost bumped into Armel at the abrupt stop but was able to avoid the catastrophe.
Armel let go of the man's hand and wandered over, but stayed outside of the ring of flowers seemingly out of respect, "'Ey. Who're you? Y'have nice hair." It was an informal way to get names out of someone, and Armel seemed to work best when informal. Compliments didn't hurt either. Pales just stepped back to watch to see what happened.
Pales observed the girl for a time, thinking that it must be a Tale. He wasn't sure though, and he also wasn't sure if the girl would realize who or what she was.

...Okay.
This was different. Onoway had only been on Earth but a few days, but she'd never seen someone stroll right up and start talking to a stranger. Except Noharu, but it was only to insult someone or demand something from them, never a 'hello' or a compliment. Speaking of, she wondered how long his friendlyness (or what she considered such) would last when he heard the voice she was speaking in.
"Onoway," she answered politely. "Nice to meet you, and thank you. Your hair is very nice as well."

Armel nodded a bit, seeming thoughtful, "Aye, nice t'meet ye to. I'm Armel." He kinda crouched and stared down at the flowers for a moment thoughtfully, "I like flowers, m'Da has a huge flower garden back at home." He was making small talk, or at least trying to without his Da's annoying prompting.
"Where ye come from?" He plopped down unto his romp, careful not to hit the flowers he sat crosslegged and watched Onoway curiously. For some reason she seemed to fascinate him to an extent, maybe it was because she sat amongst flowers, lots of flowers, and none of them seemed to be crushed. The green hair was pretty dern awesome too.
Pales of course was watching, looking all proud and misty eyed.

"That's a nice name," she commented. When she spoke again, her voice had changed. It was female, but so quiet one could barely hear it. Almost immediatly, she went about apologizing. "Forgive me, this is as loud as this one goes." 'This one', of course, refering to the voice she was currently using. Damn her soft-spoken only sister. "It's an annoyance to have to borrow voices from others sometimes."
"Somewhere in that direction." Knowing it wasn't all that helpful, she motioned the way she'd come anyway. "Originally, from a store. A book in a store, to be particular." Details, details. They were a good thing. "Flowers are nice," she added as an after thought, her large wings fluttering absently.

He tilted his head as he observed her for a moment, almost absently, "Borrow voices? Interestin'," Armel didn't seem freaked out or scared, just interested and very curious. "I think we come from the same place. Book, store, and all. Interestin'" The ram-horned boy seemed thoughtful and shrugged, "I don' 'member it much at all."
Armel didn't remember mostly because other things and memories were piling on top of it making the idea that he ever came from a book seem absurd, and non-exsistant. The fact that Pales pretty much treated him like his blood and flesh son helped that idea along.

"Yes, that's right," she confirmed a bit distantly. It wasn't as though she was fond of the 'ability'--perhaps because it was forced--but the last Tale she'd met had been absolutely amazed by it. "I'm afraid I don't have a voice personally."
"So, then you have been around for a while? Or perhaps you're just not reminded of it as much as I." Making an angry face, she snorted. Her voice yet again changed, into the angry one of Noharu. "Onoway! Pick that up or I'll take you back to that book store! Do the dishes or back to that store! Don't knock anything over or I'll stuff your face back into the book!"
Her voice returned to that of her sisters, and she laughed lightly--a rare occurance for such an eerily serious child. "My wings do tend to knock things over, I suppose."
"Oh, forgive me!" Onoway blurted out suddenly. "I've spoken so much! Tell me, where are you from, home wise? Is that your father back there?"

Armel nodded a bit, "Been 'ere a little while. Aye. Some months or so." He said outloud. He listened to her explaining her situation and frowned ever so slightly, he reached outward and touched one of the petals of the flower nearest to him. Armel didn't move to pluck it, just felt it's texture, as if it helped him think.
"She don' sound too nice, Onoway." He replied after she had finished, "I don' think she can put you back anyways. Doesn't work like that. It wouldn't let 'er."
Armel smiled a little looking up at her as she laughed, "Aye, but they are pretty," he looked thoughtful as she apologized he seemed to just brush it off dismissively with a shrug, "No worries. I come from um -- Durem I think it is called, and aye that man back there is m'da. Wanna come meet him? 'E is real nice." The boy's smile widened a bit.

Months? Wow. He must've seen all sorts of things by now! "Do you know anyone named Slyvester?" Onoway questioned suddenly, though ever politely. "That was his voice I spoke in earlier, he's given me permission to borrow it." Even though it was a boys voice, she considered it the best she had for now. It wasn't too loud or mean, or too quiet.
"Oh, I hope you won't think too badly of her," the girl continued. "She has reasons for the way she's acting, I'm sure. I personally think she just needs to get use to me." Or at the very least she hoped so. She was pretty decent to her sister.
'Hm'ing gently, she briefly glanced over said man, hopefully not long enough for him to notice. Outside her family, she'd never approached or spoken with an adult before. For some reason, it was a bit scarey. "Certainly," she agreed despite that.

Armel shook his head at her question about Sylvester, for each Tale he met there were at least one or two more that he felt he ought to or would at the very least like to meet some day, "Ne'er seen 'im yet. Very nice o'im to let ye use 'is voice though." He smiled at her and stood up after a moment after she agreed to come meet his Da.
"Well, maybe she's keeping ye distant for a while for some reason. Who knows. Adults are weird no matter who or what they are." The ram-horned boy smiled mysteriously at Onoway and waved for her to come follow him toward his Da.
"Learned recently that m'da can turn into a giant bird. He's still nice though. 'E used t'keep it a secret til gran'da came and smacked sense into 'im." Armel grinned a little and the grin was also accompanied by a small laugh.

"Agreed," the butterfly girl muttered thoughtfully, following after him. Adults were strange. Though, the only she knew was Noharu--and supposedly she was a 'teenager' in the regular mortal years. Not that she'd seen any just humans here. Were there any?
The way Armel explained his father, he certainly sounded a bit odd. A bird? Hm. "My cousins a bird. She has something she calls a 'mafia' with other birds. I've heard it's merely a term they use, but if they're all like her, I'd say they're a very violent group of people just the same."

Armel shrugged a bit as they walked looking somewhat thoughtful, "I think this is slightly different than you cousin though. Jus' a little, I dun'o still gettin' used to the idea." He spared a smile her way.
When they got over to the tall man Armel gestured to Onoway and spoke simply, "Onway, this is my Da'. Da that is Onoway!" He pointed to each as he said their name. It was really informal but it was the only way he knew for now. What does he need with formalities? Nothing.
Pales laughed a bit and nodded, "Good to meet you Onoway. My name is Pales." he had a soft smooth tone for a man. It wasn't gruff or manly at all, "Where is your guardian?" Pales obviously had not been listening in having been respectfully tuning them out as Armel took it upon himself only to socialize with someone new.

"Very nice to meet you, Mr.Pales." Friendly. Polite, too. Onoway liked polite. She didn't seem to notice it, but her wings had lowered a bit in a way that suggested some nervousness though her tone, expression, and whatever else didn't.
"I'm afraid she's taken a brief leave," Onoway said in response to the question concerning Noharu. She wouldn't lie, but she was plenty willing to walk around some things. Who would want to say 'Oh, she abandoned me again, but she'll come back!' "She'll return in time."

Pales nodded at Onoway and smiled, "So I see. Would you like for us to keep you company for a while at least? Ice cream vendor is wandering around here somewhere, I can get you both a treat."
Armel's face brightened up even more, meeting an interesting person and a good treat. This was turning out better each moment. This truly was his day, "You had ice cream before, haven't you?" If she hadn't Armel was too glad to explain it to his new found friend, or at least he hoped she'd be a friend. He hadn't met anyone yet that he wasn't able to befriend in some fashion.

"I'm afraid I don't know what it is," the girl responded. For once, her sisters small, nervous voice fit. It was embarassing to not know, especially when Armel seemed to fond of whatever it was. Thankfully, her dark skin hid the blush. "But, I know that ice is cold."
