So, Tuesday night. I'm trying to break up a fight on my property. I'm face to face with this "I'm from watts" wannabe. Well, he ends up pulling a cheap Hi-Point 45 from his waist, in regards to my telling him he was going to get arrested. And points it at my head.
I grab for the gun, which ends up next to my left ear... and he fired two shots. We end up on the ground, and I end up bouncing his head off the sidewalk... After he's unconscious I grab the POS hi-point 45 and draw down on the two "friends" that are trying to take on the hulk of a partner i have.
Three arrests, one being sent to the hospital for intensive care.
And now i'm partially deaf in my left ear.
THEN....
About an hour later, I'm face to face with a female and I tell her the same thing.. "Sit down, your under arrest.." Well, she didnt take to that well... and punches me in my ******** EAR....
I want a beer. But my weeks not over.

SUE HIS PANTS OFFFFFFFFFF
I dunno about a judge, but I know what it's like to be partially deaf. My dad told me a job with the angle grinder would take ten seconds, it took ten minutes. It feels SO ******** UNNATURAL to not be able to hear like you could an hour ago. I'd give you a 'pain and suffering' suit in a heartbeat.

well.... i'm actually waiting for the detectives to call me and let me know if he's dead or not... he wasnt in great shape when they scooped him off the sidewalk and but him in the ambulance.
I have no need to sue, its not like he'll have any money to pay up anyway. He got his, I'm getting the hearing back in my ear. its improved...

Perhaps you should see a doctor about your hearing, just in case. That way if you have a relapse or something, you'll have a medical record of what happened so you can file for partial disability.

If he dies, sue the family, sure it's heartless, but you know, there's nothing stopping them from suing you if he dies. Assholes have done it before, like situations. Trying to sue to person that blasted their kid when the kid tried doing a crime.
If they try to sue, I'd counter sue.
s**t, yeah good thing you weren't shot. But two .45 shots next to the ear? ******** bit of exposure isn't going to damage too much, but I've gotta wonder how true that is for something that close.

Not sure if it's any comfort, but there's a pretty damn good chance your hearing will return 100% shortly. I've had dumptruck filled with 12000 lbs of HME detonate about 50 feet from the MRAP I was in and I ended up being more or less deaf for the remainder of the week. Everything's all good now, though. You don't got any discharge coming from your ears do you?

Glad to hear your hearing is coming back. It will probably be back to normal in a couple days if it works out the same way mine did. Still, the city/county/state should pay for any doctor's visit since it happened on the job.
