The mare had been happy to see her son once more. And the news he had brought with him had done more for her than anything else.. He was to be a father.. She had felt kinda old, at the word grandmother. But she supposed that was bound to happen one day.. And Rafe was the one she would have tagged as being a young father.
Her other two boys just didnt seem the type.

She walked beside him, the sun warming her golden pelt and making her seem to glow. She had nothing wrong in her life. A good family, and she lived happily. She knew there was nothing more she could have ever asked for.

"So, have you wondered how many there would be?"
She asked, her song like voice speaking to her boy, chocolate eyes glancing up at him, her much taller son.

Chocolate hooves seemed to dance across the fields as they walked.

The bigger male smiled down at his mother. He had never thought he would ever have foals. He was much too free to ever be held down by anything on this earth.
But Dellia had seemed to wisk away the stallions mind, and now, she found herself with child.

His ebony pelt and piebald face, even the little swirls along his legs, all held true to the Ho'kee and Chumana line.
He felt proud to carry his families markings.
He could only hope his children would get the same kind of luck.

He flicked a curled tail, and shrugged.
"I have no idea.. I personally dont care either way.. One foal is just as good as two.." He didnt add his last bit. 'And easier to take care of.'

He was glad he had met up and decided to take a walk with his mother today.. He had missed her, and now, they just seemed to enjoy each others company.

Sunshine beamed across the meadow in the east. Summer was still far off, but these where days where the Sun let you know it was coming soon.

Hok'ee, proud dapple that he was, kept off to the shade of the trees. The forest was no place for a good looking stud such as himself, but neither was the blistering hot rays of the sun! His black coat did nothing but keep the heat upon his back. Those in his family had black coats too and the unmistakable marks of his lovely bride, Chu'mana. The only part of him that remained cool even in the suns grasp, was the mask of white on his face.

Standing silently, Hok' reflected on the variety and mix that Chu and he had blessed their children with. Each one made his chest fill to bursting with great pride. "Yes. Yes they are each perfect." he spoke out to himself, straightening up his shoulders and lifting his chin to the sky.

Marahute had been proud when her palomino coloring had passed on to her children.. Because her mother was a proud palomino.
She smiled, shaking her head.
"You are getting too old."
She said with a chuckle.
"What shall I do when I become a GREAT grandmother?" She asked, her eyes looking up into his emerald orbs that were almost identical to her Yiska's.

But her eyes caught hold of another standing not too far off. She had never been one to turn down a friend, or even to run from strangers.
When she had lived alone in the valley before Yiska found her, she had been on the lookout for anyone as she had lived a very lonely existance.

"Hello!" SHe called, a friendly smile seeming to match the glowing sun. She was always a happy ray of sunshine, Which, Sunshine was an affectionate name from Esperanza to her daughter.

"C'mon Rafe, " She motioned with her head, leading him down a little hill to get to the other.

Rafe snorted, shaking his head a bit. His mother was much too naieve for her own good. Who knew if that stallion down there was nice at all! Sure he carried a..rather familiar pattern.. But you never knew.

So Rafe followed behind her obediantly, ready to defend his mother from anything should something occur.
His name, meant Wolf. He was a strong and feirce fighter, but he was a a humbled stallion.

"Mother, you do not even know him."
He snorted, though he knew voicing his opinion would do nothing but make his mother giggle and keep going.
His mother was so young at heart, that he felt sure even when she was old, she would still giggle like a filly.

But it made him smile.. If only everyone was lucky to live enough like his mother. His mother was happy, and she just seemed to be a glowing ray of light.. Hope, was something she just seemed to carry for him.

"'Gday sir."
He said, as they started approaching.

Hok'ee sucked in a deep breath and puffed up his chest as a few visitors began to approach his perch under the shady tree. Any chance to impress another with his presence was eagerly accepted and welcomed. He tossed his chin up a few times and pawed at the ground when they were close enough to see his display. "Good day to you folk and a how do you do." he called out with a musical boom to his voice.

He held still as the image of the two soaked into his night sky blue eyes. He passed over the young mare quickly. None could compare to his Angel of black and green laced envy. Chu would always be the only mare to hold his gaze. After all, she was the only one who was close to his own beauty, dangerously close. A small part of him melted each time he thought of her.

However..his gaze stopped short upon the dark chocolate stallion that waltzed closely behind the mare. His breath exhaled and his face tilted every so slightly as his eyes captured an uncannily familiar mirrored face. The creamy mask was unmistakably close to his own! Frantic with anticipating eyes, he scanned over the male stranger quickly. Upon his ankles were the marking swirls like his Love. He had the curls too..

Suddenly eager to make the best first impression he could, he pranced back a few paces then turned to the side and rose high to his back legs, dancing his front legs into the air as best he could. Oh no, he didn't thrash around crazily, he had rhythm to his stance, as his curly hair whipped about his neck.

Falling back to his feet, he began to speak regally to the two. "Oh ho ho!! What a fine day indeed this is come to be! Good Soquili, quick tell me from where you come before my chest bursts with pride! You sir!" he said with a thrust of his hoove. "I must know you!" He then bowed to the almond mare. "Pardon me ma'am, and a hello to you both."

Hok'ee was indeed about to burst. He could recognize his own line from a mile away! However, he could be wrong. Ha! As if he could ever be wrong...but still better play it cool for a moment longer.

Marahute giggled, enjoying the display. Well once again she was lucky the stallion was a kind, and rather amusing one at that!
She did not take offense at all to his passing glance. In all honesty, he was an attractive stallion, but nothing could compare to her Yiska.. He had made her the happiest little mare..
But this stallion had.. very similar markings to her Yiska. She looked between Rafe and Ho'kee and she too could see the resemblence.

"Good day!"
She smiled, her eyes gleaming.
"Tis a pleasure to meet you this fine day."
She chuckled, turning her attention to her own son.

"My name is Marahute, and this is my son Rafe."
She said, looking back at Ho'kee and nodding a bit as a bow of a greeting.

She grew instantly curious at the stallion. Maybe he was related to her boy?

The stallion that looked so much like the stallion before him, couldnt help but notice the resemblence that everyone else was noticing as well.
Though Ho'kee did not have swirls like he did, he did have the piebald face, and mane of luxurious curls.
He was indeed a steadfast, strong looking stallion.. and taller too.
Things that Rafe was very much in himself.

"Pleasure to meet you."
He nodded his own greeting, though his eyes were looking at her as if he was curious, moreso than meeting a stranger for the first time.
The emerald orbs he carried did not match Ho'kee's sapphire gaze, but Rafe had been told the green eyes were from his fathers mother, Chumana.

When the stallion thrust his hoof out in a effort to point at Rafe, he cocked his head, and narrowed an eyebrow, but looked to his mother as if to get assurance.
Still ever the mothers boy.

"You look familiar as well sir."
He responded.

"I am Hok'ee! Graceful owner of the lovely Lady Chu'mana's heart, in which I have returned her my own." he pranced about as he spoke.

"I was once told I would be a grandfather! Although I am not old, nor any less handsome, I believed it! Now here, I'm guessing that fate has finally found it's way into the land. You must tell me, which of my strapping young bucks is your father!" His mind raced over images of all his sons, Vasu'raj, Yiska, and Chidi. Each one a perfect blend of their parents. He had overstepped his grounds for waiting to bombard questions and suggestions of lineage. Hearing the two speak in front of him, with an equal air of ponderment, only fueled his assumptions.

Overly proud as he was, he didn't even consider Shadi as the mother, or Taipa. His boys were his boys, a small legion of the legacy he and Chu had started. Shadi was one of the boys in his eyes at times anyways, and Taipa had always been a tomboy. He'd likely melt at the thought of one of his little mares being hitched off, and even get defensive and less excited. Heh..

Marahute watched the two, and she smiled. So indeed, it was someone that was related to her sons. Oh if only he could see Eggie.. He would see a foal that was almost identical to Yiska, save for his golden locks.

She didn't say anything, merely lowered her head to the earth to eat a few stray blades of grass, though she did keep watch with the two, and was rather amused to listen.

Rafe smiled a bit. So this was his grandfather? He had never met his grandfather, though to be fair, he had never met any of his family.
Rafe wasnt sure how many brothers his father had.. Alot maybe?
He felt almost bad about not knowing the relatives which carried his blood. But he very rarely stayed in one place long enough to have good relations.

He too, stood a bit prouder. Ah, so his grandfather was a strapping stallion, just like he was. That was nice, it meant that it wasnt only he, who thought themselves to be amazing.
Though he only thought that in the looks department. His personality was much more wild.. He didnt really spend all his day thinking about how gorgeous he was. But maybe if he wasnt so busy all the time, he would start to think on it more.

"Excellent to meet you, though I assure you I never called you old."
He said with a little grin.

"Im the son of Yiska and Marahute, and the brother to two strong brothers."
He said, introducing his father.

Stepping a bit closer towards the velvet dark stallion, with no hesitation, he leans in for a good neck to neck embrace."My stars! One of Yiska's you say!" he exclaimed as he stood back again. "Let me get another look at you. Please, tell me your name! That I might write it among the line of strapping lads this family has spread across this land. Tell me of your brothers too! What a fine lad you are. Yiska has done me proud. And yes my son, you'd be wise to not forget that I will never be old." he said with a wink of his eye.

It made since he would be one of Yiska's. Chidi was still young, and Vasu didn't have the piebald face. Though it could of easily been passed down regardless. A small twang of remorse ached in Hok's heart for his boy Vasu. The stud had been trying so hard to find love, but just didn't have it in him even still.

Yiska had not only found him a special mare, but was passing on their handsome looks with ease. That, and it would seem there was two other brothers! Delightful! If only they were here too. He wanted to see each of them.

Then the thought occurred to him, who was the creamy mare that accompanied him? An o face twinkle lit up his expression. "Then here, is this lovely mare, a friend of yours?" He puffed up his chest, thinking that if she wasn't a sister, perhaps she was a "marefriend" but he dare not ask in the presence of a lady.

The golden mare lifted her head, swallowing the mouthful of grass, and smiling a bit.
"You're so kind sir."
She smiled, looking to Rafe, immediantly proud that his grandfather would have such a strong affection for him, even upon first meeting.

"I am Marahute, mate to Yiska, and mother to the three boys, including my Rafe."
She said with an affectionate gaze towards her son which carried pride and love.

"Its a pleasure to meet you Ho'kee. I think Yiska would be quite happy to know that we've met!"

He returned the embrace, though normally he was not one to be a touchy stallion, he felt this was okay. He smiled, when he pulled away.
Stomping his front hoof on the earth's floor, he looked back up at Ho'kee, standing a bit taller as he introduced himself.

"My other brothers are no where near as wild as I am.. But I am pleased to say you'd be happy the good looks have continued in them as well."
He chuckled.

"The name is Rafe. Meaning wolf, which mother says I always reminded her of as a colt."
He smiled, emerald orbs glittering as he thought of his mother.. How he loved her so.

"Oh that is my mother, your Yiska's special mare. My own special mare happens not to be in the area at the moment."

Hok'ee heart was filled with delightful sensations. Not only was there a great handsome stallion in front of him, that of course belonged to his own bloodline, but the mate of Yiska was here too! He bowed at the creamy mare with the deepest enthusiasm and respect. "My fair, fair lady, it is a pleasure to meet one that has captured the eye and heart of one of my oldest sons."

Standing upright, he turned his attention back to Rafe. "My good stallion, what a fitting name for one as handsome as yourself." He righted his head and pulled himself as tall as he could. "You now know where those good looks originated." It might of seemed he was half joking, but anyone who knew him, knew he was sincere...quite sincere. "I see your lovely mother has given you a unique spin on your appearance, blending perfectly with the rest of your bloodline. I should like to see your siblings one day!"

"Now come, tell me, you say you have a mare after your own heart too? Fascinating! Easy to do when your perfectly handsome."
He poked fun at Rafe, but not too hard. This of course only saddened him, thinking of his two oldest children who had not found love. Love had a funny way of skipping over a few, not paying any respect to age or time. He would have to see Vasu and Shadi soon, see if there was anything he could do to further their own lifemate pursuit. His own grandson had already discovered the secret to life after all. (Small shudder at the word grandson. v.v)

Marahute giggled a bit, like the little mare she was. She couldnt help it, she loved Yiska, and she knew now where he got his charming personality.
It made her excited to return home to see her mate, and to nuzzle him once more.
"As it is a pleasure to meet you." She said, lowering her neck in a sort of courtesy like movement.

She was completely excited about becoming a grandmother. Though she felt spry and young, and she knew she still was.. It was odd to be called a grandmother.
But she supposed that it was a feeling she would love eventually.

The stallion couldnt help but smile and stand a bit prouder as he was complimented. He had always known he was a handsome strong lad. He had even mated to a mare that equaled his good looks and formidable wit.

"My siblings would love to meet you. We are a family of wanders, my brothers and I. We tend to not stick to one place."
He chuckled. He had not seen his brothers in awhile, but he knew that the love the family carried, carried in them.

"Ah, yes I have found a mare that truly is a perfect match. Shes a lovely chocolate paint.. A mane as goldenly creme as my grandmothers. She fits well with the family line."
He said with a nod, and even winking a bit, as if the family line idea was some secret thing between he and his grandfather.

Hok'ee had an grand expression on his face. You could tell he was quite pleased with everything. If it were possible for his head to hold anymore pride than it already contained, he had just been filled to a new height of 'proud'.

"Wonderful! Ab-so-lutely wonderful. Details like this are what make this life worth living, and sharing with those around us." he said as he wiggled his shoulders and posed with his chin in the air, in the most pompous and regal stance you could imagine.

"Just make sure that you don't get to familiar with these terms of "grand" around me. You call me Sir Hok'ee or Hok for short if you wish." he smirked.

Marahute giggled. She loved that she belonged to this family.. She loved Yiska so much, and she couldnt wait to tell him she had met his father.. And unexpectedly at that!

So now she had met Chu'mana, and Ho'kee. So she had met her mates parents, and now she had to meet the siblings..

Rafe laughed out loud, his laugh a rumble of a stallion older than he looked. He nodded.

"I think I'd prefer to call you Hok, because I have this thing about being uncomfortable with formality."

The stallion replied, winking a bit.
This had indeed been a pleasant walk. It reminded him that he should go walking with his mother more often.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 10, 2009 11:16 am

Hok'ee grinned. "Well, be sure to send my regards to my son when you see him! Tell him I said good job. Wink wink nudge nudge." he smiled. He really was proud to see his sons family, his family. Family was one thing that could never be big enough.

"I'm going to get back to preening myself here in the shade, lest I melt in this awful heat.

I won't keep you, but do remember me."
he said as he lifted his chin to the sky and smiled, as if they were going to paint a picture..
