Does anyone have any good links containing info about it?

I only have the official NA site, but they don't have much except for screenshots and a art created that looks so reminiscent.
It looks like it has characters similar to the Galka, Mithra, Tarutaru, Elvaan, and Hume.
I may debate whether I want to stay in FFXI or moved to FFXIV, but right now I like XIV, but I like XI because of all the memories crying .

I'm not leaving FFXI! I'm barely into it and I've been playing two years. I don't have the time for a second MMO. If I do, I'll start ZOMG.

I just now join back on FFXI and now I hear news of this. Honestly, this is quite exciting for me, though I'll now have to work extra hard to get a job to level 75 - 37 more levels on SAM - and get a good deal of the storyline done.
I wonder how they'll improve on the MMORPG experience? 3nodding

I might consider it only if we can do a character transfer from 11>14. Put to much work into this char and really don't want to start over.

I've heard they are going to create a new job-system, so I doubt that they will provide such services. sad It's nice though that they haven't said that they're closing down XI.

I really hope they still keep up XI when XIV goes live. It'll kill my wallet but I don't think I can completely give up XI even for a newer and shinyer version and I know I'm gonna be tempted to play XIV. So lets hope SE isn't pulling our legs with the nice and pretty CS.

So lets hope SE isn't pulling our legs with the nice and pretty CS. They are going to keep XI up once XIV is released, Enix has said they are probably going to continue with basic maintenance and possibly the $10 mini expansions like they are with the current ones being released now. As for XIV, pretty much looks like a better graphiced XI, I'm just hoping they kinda keep with the current job system, just add some newer ones in while keeping the game very Midevil based, but with that technologic magical.. sense that Final Fantasy seems to have. Kinda like how Final Fantasy VI was. Or at least make Galka look appealing instead of bulgy, and Mithras tails look fluffy or puff up when they go into combat, that'd be awesome.

Me and my LS have already made a choice to jump over to there in FFXIV
I am hell of excited for this
Better graphics (FFXI doesn't look too great compared to other game these days)
Hopefully enhanced playing experiences
probably some new jobs ect. and of course with all FF games a new world.

I can't wait for XIV. That trailer was amazing, and before people say anything those were real-time spliced with pre-rendered graphics.
I like the fact that they're bringing similar character types over from XI, still going to be a Elvaan.
As for bringing over old accounts, while that would be cool I don't think I'd do it. I know they said something about name transferring though.
The one thing that is really bugging me is the lack of information Square-Enix is giving us, its like they think we won't understanding anything. The game was announced in June with with the intent of releasing it next spring. You'd think they'd provide more information for a game coming out so soon. But what are we to do, maybe will get more stuff this month or something.

You can always put your XI account on hold, deactivate while you check out the new one. Then if you aren't into it or if you need a break you can switch back. I imagine they'll let you deactivate and reactivate on the new one.
And lol @ the mithras getting fuzzy and puffing up in battle. That was a pleasant mental image. XD Thanks for that.

I don't have the post from BG forums, but someone got a hold of some JP magazine that had some information covering FFXIV.
Seems like the developers have quiet a few things in plan for FFXIV that will be very different from FFXI; For starters, they will not be using a level-up system. Instead, there will be more focus on Weapons and Job/Class System instead. Seems the only thing that grows is Weapons based on upgrades.
Seems like something similar to FF2's growth rate, probably.
So no I doubt that FFXIV will be anything like FFXI gameplay wise. Seems as though XIV will be much much more laid back than XI.

There's a trailer of the game if you go to the Square Enix's official site. The game looks quite awesome... I quit FFXI last month and I don't think I'll return to the game...
I might just wait until FFXIV comes out and go play that when it does. I wonder how similar or not it'll be to FFXI.

Well, taking into consideration the fact that their releasing it for PC and PS3 (Hopefully Xbox 360 later), I think that they'll keep XI servers open.
Whenever I can afford it I play it on my 360 and I'd be sad if I couldn't play either of them.
