(First time, D: ) Alastair padded softly through the browning grass, he seemed to be deep in thought. The grassland he was in was very open, prey would be able to spot him easily. He didn't seem like he was paying much attention as he came up a small hump in the land, water was probably less then plentiful in this area he noted, as he lifted his head, parting his mouth to take in a breath.
Aryaisha was wondering the vast grassland called the rouge lands looking for no one in particular. He had just made a kill recently so he was pretty content where food was concerned, water was another matter. Putting his nose in the air he could smell a nearby water source and faintly another male, the other male's scent didnt concern him as it was faint and Ary had yet to meet others that were hostile, granted he tended to avoid others. It didnt take him long for him to find a small valley with a small watering hole. Once there he started to drink but like all cautious animals he kept an eye out for others.
Alastair walked on, smelling a male, it wasn't fresh but the scent wasn't old either. Alastair couldn't see anything that would cause threat, so he walked on. Toward water. Alastair made it over another hill, and was overcome suddenly with relief. He found a watering hole just below, and the familiar scent of a male came back to him. Alastair spied him instantly, drinking. He walked toward him, a casual non-chalant look on his face, but his muscles tensed with each step. Without giving a greeting, or warning, he walked to the side of the male, far enough to escape an unsheathed paw, and lapped quickly at the water in front of him.
Aryaisha knew when the strange male came into the small valley, he made no show of seeing him although he covertly watched as the black and brown male tried to act nonchalant. Ary could see that the lion was tense and he didn't blame him when he stopped arms length from him. Normally Ary is calm and collected but ever so often the spirit of a trickster seems to posses him. Hoping that he wouldn't have to test his fighting skills Ary took a few steps into the water, after he finished drinking of course, and splashed the new guy. He waited for the reaction of the other, ready for just about everything.
Alastair jumped as water splashed his face. He reared up, shaking his mane. Standing with his toes almost in the water, Alastair looked at the male in an amused confusion, was this play? He thought a moment. If this male were hostile towards him, he would have shown it, yes? Alastair cocked his head to the side, "What on earth are you doing?" He asked, his voice full of question. Never had he seen a male want to play with another before, and they didn't know each other at all. "Who are you?" It wasn't a demand, it was just a simple question like the first he asked, as he pawed at the water aimlessly, he never kept his eyes off the male.
((shrunk them so we have some more roomXD)) Ary was ready for just about anything but this amused confusion that the male was giving off. "Water fight?" he asked in a voice filled with laughter. He liked to play jokes on others but since he never stayed around others for very long the jokes he did do were little and simple. And since he started to wander for real he hasnt really had a chance to play so Why not? he thinks as he introduced himself. "Names Aryaisha. And you my wet friend?"
"I am Alastair, pleased to make your Acquaintance." He nodded his head, a bit more formal then he had wanted, but his manners always got the better of him. "I've never heard of a water fight before," he smiled coolly at the lion, "I guess having fun wouldn't hurt." He shrugged into the water, only wading so that half his legs were the only things deep in water.
"Nice to meet you Alastair." Ary said with the same feel of formality as Alastair had greeted him, but his greeting had a feeling of great amusement. When Alastair agreed to the water fight and even came deeper into the water Ary smiled and with a laugh used both paws to splash Alastair. His laughter rang clearly across the grassland.
Alastair smiled, flashing brilliant white teeth. "I will tell you, I am no expert at this..'Water fighting'" He arched a brow, this lion was very funny, he was quite friendly to, despite meeting him only a few seconds ago. He bunched his front legs and with a powerful lift onto his hind legs, caused a surge of water to splash Aryaisha's front. He laughed deep in his chest, this was odd fun.
Ary stood dripping water from Alastair's 'attack', "For someone who is no expert your pretty good." he said as he shook his main out giving him a spiky look. The he said with a pretentious accent "But Darling you cant beat the king." right before he jumped up into the air coming down fully in the water causing a large splash to hit Alastair and water the plants a little ways up away. And just like Alastair did he started to laugh, it was fun having someone to play with. There were too few playmates as a cub when Aryaisha was growing up so he was glad that he found someone who was willing to spend some time acting like a kid again.
Alastair shook water droplets from his pelt, a bemused look on his face. "Aryaisha, you are not like some I've met." He gave him a crooked smile, "But I like you." And with a quick movement, he pushed his massive paw through the water, making a -not as big as the last- splash toward Aryaisha, chuckling.
Ary just made a funny face as he shook his body, dislodging the majority of the water that Alastair just splashed on him. "I'm glad I'm not the same as some of those fuddy duddys. Live is hard I know that but who said you cant have fun in the process. Alastair, your cool too. Not many lions would react like you, believe me I know." He gave one more half hearten splash before walking out of the water and flopping down on the well watered grass. "I think the grass has gotten quite a good watering. You can call me Ary you know, Aryaisha is just such a mouth fully." he smiled and started to chuckle softly.
Alastair nodded, "Alright Ary." He smiled, and lapped at the water as he too got out. "Life," Alastair sat down on the grass, "Yes, life could use fun once in a while." He nodded as he thought about it. "You are different Ary, but its a unique different, that will get you far." He grinned thoughtfully. "Glad I walked up on you."
Ary just nodded when Alastair was talking about how life needed fun once in a while, he was thinking about his life when he was just a adolescence where he lost his love of games. "Some times being different is not always a good thing, a balance is needed." But he said this with a smile on his face as he let the sun dry him off. "Your not so bad your self Alastair, not every lion would have joined in." He got up and gave his fur one more shake, settling all the fur that was still sticking up. "It really was nice to meet you but I think I should find a place to hunker down for the night." He said this as he watched the gray storm clouds roll across the savanna. "They are coming in fast, I would suggest taking cover too, then again we are already wet so what harm does a little more water make?" He laughed.

Alastair blinked, nodding, he stood. "It was nice to meet a friendly new face." he said smiling. He laughed as he saw the darkening clouds, "They are rolling in quickly." He shook out his mane, but let his pelt drip dry on to the grass. "Ary," he said to himself, "I'll remember you. And I'm sure we'll meet again."

Ary started to leave when he turned back, "It was nice to meet you Alastair, I had fun and when we meet again we should do it again." He said with a smile as he kept one eye on the storm. It was rolling in quickly and the light, which was bright and warm, took on a shadowy effect with a cooling wind stirring the the grass to move like waves. "Hope you have somewhere to wait out this storm because I think it will be a doozy." Aryashia said as lightning forked across the sky followed shortly by thunder.
Once more he turned back and started to race across the grasslands looking for a group of trees, or some caves, so he could wait out the storm. At the last moment he yelled out "See you later alligator." knowing that the wind would carry his voice to Alastair.

Alastair watched as his new friend departed. He smiled, and then turned his own way, in the opposite direction. "In a while crocodile," He said to the lion behind him, and he chuckled as he picked up his pace. It had started to rain.
AND FINISHED. I think :3
