Valeri was very, very uncertain as to what to do with a child now that he had one on a more permanent basis. He was just fine with entertaining the small girl that seemed to have taken to visiting him now and again but this was different. This child stayed around and expected to be entertained at all hours of the day, most of the time. He held onto one of the small rat-girl's hands while he limped up the stairs of the Natural Science Museum that was located in Durem. The day was nice and sunny and it was still late morning.
He had managed to rearrange his own medication cycle to take medication with his new...daughter. Miranda had to also take medications for her condition; it wasn't a big deal for him to arrange his schedule so as to help encourage good habits for her.
Miranda wore a children's sundress, a wide brimmed hat, and a pair of sunglasses, mostly on her guardian's insistence. She didn't mind the hat but the sunglasses made her a little annoyed with the way they tinted everything the same boring color. Augh. Still the rat-girl smiled happily as she tightly gripped at the fingertips of the limping man beside her as they wandered up the stairs and finally entered the establishment. Today was a ...In...Inter..aract...
..Today was a day the museum would let her and other children touch things and play and do pretty much what they wanted. That's how Papi explained it to her and she liked the idea.
"Where do you want to go first?" Valeri asked as he gazed down at her.
Miranda raised the glasses slightly to peer about and pointed toward a 'space station' exhibit. "THERE'TH FIR'TH'T!" she announced excitedly, her speech impediment in full effect. Then the small girl let the sunglasses fall back upon the bridge of her nose pulling her Papi along happily. Valeri chuckled and limped after her at a quickened pace.

Riley had heard through word of mouth of some sort of special even going on at the Natural Science Museum...which was wonderful, because lately he'd been wanting to get out of the house and take Emmet with him. Winter was long over and the boy needed to get out for some fresh air; an entire season of staying indoors in some form of cranky, spaced out state was getting to him, and the little boy getting loopy.
He'd tried to pawn Stella off on someone else for the afternoon, but when that proved unsuccessful he regretfully decided to her with them. The quiet snakeling was about as excited as he was. Stella couldn't care less what they thought.
When they reached the Museum, Riley had stopped in his tracks.
...Interactive? This special event was...interactive?! ********! His gaze shot to the Panther child, hoping she didn't notice so he could make some form of lame excuse and go back home. But, sadly, there was an interactive static electricity device set up outside to attract people, and that was where Stella was.
That meant...he had to go into an interactive museum with a girl who could cause trouble in an empty room. Cursing his very existence, he wandered into the Museum, Emmet's pale and scaly hand in his, and calling out to Stella over his shoulder. If she didn't listen or if she got lost...that was her fault. Sadly, she followed him. It was obvious she only did so because it would be more fun inside the building!
Their wanderings led them to the Space Station exhibit first; and in general tradition, Stella ran forward first, pouncing onto a console and pushing buttons to see what it would do, if anything. After a moment of button mashing and wandering, her yellow gaze fell on a little girl in a sundress, and she stopped her button mashing to stare, her ears perked as high as they could go.
"You're chubby!" Stella said, not an ounce of ill intentions in her voice; she sounded more like she was in awe than anything. She kept staring though, and slid off of the panel she was sitting on to scoot closer to the chubby little white girl. "And you're a mousey~" She announced in a rather observant manner, having spotted the tail.

Miranda had been gleefully pressing at buttons while holding onto her Papi's hand. She had become enthralled with the space station for a moment or two, so much so that she didn’t notice that a feline-like girl had come up nearby to also enjoy the interactive exhibit but with a touch more exuberance than Miranda could possibly think to put into it.
Val glanced to the older looking girl and it was at that time he saw that the odd child took an interest in his own daughter. The words that came from the dark child’s lips caused him to freeze a bit and hold in his breath deeply as his expression washed with a moment of worry as to how his daughter would react to those words despite the lack of ill intention.
The rat-girl looked at the panther-girl for a long moment through tinted lenses. Miranda’s for a moment seemed at a loss until she finally pulled the sunglasses up to her forehead where they seemed content to stay. Redish-pink eyes stared at the other figure for a long moment, "Yeh'th and not a mous'the. Rah'th," she corrected as if the distinction was very important to the chubby girl.
