"It's funny. Most people would be more afraid to be in my room than [anywhere] else in the world." "I... I'm not afraid... Just a bit... a bit nervous." Lovers that could be called more than "star-crossed," Voldemort/Godfrey is a pairing that has never once lost its appeal, redefining the boundaries of a Montague and Capulet romance. Existing in many forms - from sadomasochistic tales of kidnap and seduction, to a deep and dramatic struggle to build a relationship founded on reformation - and adored by friends and fans alike, Voldemort/Godfrey has become one of the Wizarding World of Gaia's most infamous pairings; and though it is threaded and shipped elsewhere as well, I highly doubt I speak only for myself when I say it is a true treasure to watch it unfold in this guild.
This fanthread is dedicated to one of my favorite fanon pairings, and to its creators - particularly Cassy, who had the courage to be creative in a cold Internet wasteland of "average."

For some reason he needed the friendship of this young boy, craved it... About Godfrey Cedric Potter-Lockhart Godfrey was born to Harry Potter and Gilderoy Lockhart, with the influence of African mushrooms affecting his and his twin’s physical development. During his early childhood, Godfrey and his sister enjoyed family bliss and fame; it was not until the twins were ten that Gilderoy and Harry divorced, and Gilderoy later suffered a second head injury that rendered him incapable of caring for himself. Entering his teenage years, Godfrey was forced to cope with a plethora of magical and family-related issues, including Harry becoming romantically involved again and producing Godfrey’s youngest sibling, Roddy, with their accountant, and visiting Gilderoy (who was hospitalized because Harry is a douche bag of his condition.)
Godfrey’s behavior varies depending upon his company and his comfort levels. Sometimes childlike and prone to excited outbursts, sometimes mature and passionate about defending his opinions, Godfrey manages to easily charm those around him with his unique brand of charisma. His hobbies generally involve creating something (cooking, potion brewing, preparing his own shampoo) and though he is young he is able to accomplish his projects with great skill. Both his charisma and the earnestness employed in his projects were further showcased by his sorting into Hufflepuff.
About Voldemort Voldemort - a name that still leaves many trembling - had a change of heart upon being resurrected, pursuing solitude rather than seeking out his Death Eaters for another attempt at dominating the Wizarding World. Utilizing his manor and spare time to breed unique snakes, Voldemort spent over a decade living in seclusion save a few encounters with curious historians and revenge-oriented trespassers.
Dramatically different from the murderous dictator he was previously, Voldemort has dedicated much of his energy to avoiding the temptations posed by positions of power and control, shunning even the use of House Elves. Isolated for over a decade, Voldemort is socially and emotionally awkward; the impairment makes him somewhat desperate for companionship (specifically Godfrey’s.) About the Relationship While Voldemort’s endeavors with Godfrey have been limited to an awkward meeting in Knockturn Alley and subsequent letter-writing, there is no doubt the relationship will continue to grow as time passes.

"As it seems you really don't know... my name is Voldemort."xxx [Voldemort] turns to glance back at Godfrey as he tugs on his robes, lifting a brow and taking a deep breath, letting it out slowly; the first thing he noticed was the boy had some odd furry ears poking out the top of his head and couldn't help but stare for a few moments before letting his eyes wander elsewhere.
He then noticed the boy had one of his books and was only trying to be helpful, so he tried to keep from glaring, figuring no matter what he would look menacing because of how much taller he was. "Yesss?" His voice was quiet, not really used to speaking to people in public and much more used to speaking in Parseltongue nowadays.
"You forgot one of your books, Sir...." [Godfrey] hugs the book for a moment longer, but then offers it out, using both hands to do so. When an overly curious Godfrey finds himself being violently berated by a hag, Voldemort’s imposing glance frightens her off - uninterested at first, the former Dark Lord intended to take his leave, but Godfrey’s charismatic and cheerful personality coaxed him to linger. Joint interest in a distinctive reptile inspires the exchange of letters. xxx I guess it just feels weird because it's my first real relationship. And what I really wanted to ask was: What was your first relationship like? Your first REAL relationship anyways. Were you friends first? How did it end? Was it a girl or a boy?
You don't have to answer if you don't want to though. I know I'm getting a bit too personal and digging around in places you might not want anyone to dig.
Other than that though, Josh... he's PERFECT! He's really the best boyfriend I think I could ever have, though he hasn't exactly seen every side of me yet. And I guess I'm sort of worried about really showing him things I like and who I am, in case I scare him off or
Didn't mean to blather on, sorry. Letter writing between the two continues to expose new vulnerabilities the pair possess, Godfrey hinting that his (sexual?) needs may be too much for his muggle-born boyfriend to handle.Additional information will be provided as scenes unfold.

"Oh, Godfrey. You are always concerned with everyone [else], I am surprised you have any concern left for yourself." - Voldemort
"Even if I was on the verge of dying... I'd never... never willingly betray you." - Godfrey
"Godfrey, what I really want to know is... why did you come here at all? Why do you... continue to write to me, to have any contact with me at all? I'm sure you have better things. Better people to busy your time with." - Voldemort
"Godfrey, stop that.... you're getting all sticky and... wet." - Voldemort
"Yes... well anything that involves us being alone together for an unknown period of time is worth the effort..." - Godfrey
"I know you're not a girl. There isn't a girl in our relationship." - Voldemort
"Too much color in one place for me... Though I like you better with no clothes, colorful or not.." - Voldemort
"I don't think Voldemort is an addiction that can ever be sated or satisfied..." - Godfrey

Captain Nazzy Personally, I enjoy imagining the relationship as starting when Godfrey is about, oh, fourteen (but barely so.) It’s a vulnerable age, when a teenager begins to form their own opinions and habits, and I feel it is the perfect phase for Godfrey to be in when he and Voldemort meet. I enjoy placing Voldemort in his “adjusting to a non-Dark Lord lifestyle” period when he meets Godfrey, because it gives them a chance to grow together. This, in turn, often causes Godfrey to grow away from his life (in my mind anyway) and family, because his focus point in growing up becomes Voldemort.
I like to twist it into something dark, however. Where they are attempting to define their lives, but at the same time and mostly surrounding each other, so Voldemort strays into that sense of control again, and Godfrey rapidly becomes obsessed. Sex, mostly, is to blame - Godfrey doesn’t mind submission, and Voldemort cannot resist the urge to dominate and own him entirely. This leaves them unable to avoid the “evil” issue, and usually in my musings they pursue it because it is too late to escape it.
Not to mention, I like hurting Cassy’s Harry, and letting Godfrey become a returning Dark Lord’s lap pet seems as good a way as any to needlessly punish him. Godfrey Potter-Lockhart Voldemort gives Godfrey a reason. That's what it is. Godfrey's the type of person who can't do something JUST for himself... he has to have other motivations, and those help him summon the will to get his act together and do things.
Godfrey sort of is that kind of person who does need an anchor to ground him. See, with Voldemort writing to him and stuff, Godfrey wanted to prove that he could be a good friend, that he had somethign about him that made it worth it. Godfrey thought Voldemort thought he had a lot of magical potential, so Godfrey gives up using his fire magic all the time and focuses on wand magic, though it's very hard. And to be truthful, Godfrey couldn't have studied as long and hard as he did without Voldemort's help. IT would have been too difficult, and he needed a lot of motivation in order to keep going and get up to the fifth year level.
So as Godfrey corresponds with Voldemort, he's happier, he makes plans for himself and goals, he starts shedding that protective 'overly childish' personality and acts more like who he truly is. He works his a** off because as he improves himself for what he thinks he needs to do to be frriends with Voldemort, he starts improving himself for himself, and he improves himself for all the plans he has. He's still the sort of sullen, angsty teenager with his Dad, but it's mostly put out in your regular teenage angst and a bit of sneaking into clubs...... not in sex, drugs, and rock n'roll, and stuff like that. ;D
So, basically, Voldemort saved Godfrey's life. Yeah. :3 Though I think Godfrey might have eventually, after a few years, quit school after O.W.L.s or just before, given up wand magic for his fire magic, and he probably went to find Josh to be with him. O_o

The appeal I see in Voldemort/Godfrey is that it’s so versatile. I can look at it from one angle and see a malevolent Dark Lord taking advantage of Harry Potter’s unique son, the storyline laced with dark seduction or possibly rape - but then I look at it from another angle, and I can see something founded on romance and comedy, with a slowly changing Voldemort trying to remove himself from his past while being pestered by a fox-eared boy too curious for his own good. I can see them ******** violently, with teeth and claws leaving bloody wounds and love scars; but I can also see the gentle, watching-you-from-under-my-eyelashes sex on Godfrey’s part, with Voldemort refusing to tempt himself with power by being anything but kind but firm in bed. I can imagine Godfrey sneaking out at night and telling a thousand lies to his parents, letting his life rot away so he can devote his energy to Voldemort… but I can also envision Gilderoy setting his jaw and telling Harry to let Godfrey do as he wants, Voldemort isn’t a threat anymore, and allowing Godfrey to date him (which probably goes in with “weird romantic comedy.”)
It’s so easy to spin the whole thing in different directions. It makes watching the pairing develop absolutely riveting, because it can go down so many paths there is always a note of suspense; is Godfrey getting in over his head, is Voldemort on the verge of a relapse, etc etc.

Oh my god. This is the best thread/birthday present ever. THIS WOULD ALSO TOP NINJA TURTLE CAKE BY LIKE- INFINITY!!! XD
I'm surprised you got so much from everything though, since it's been different like.... 4 bajillion times. XD I look forward to playing it out in an actual serious/ish way so-SO much. biggrin And I like torturing my Harry too, Naz. XD Any Harry seems to me to be this guy who just needs to be punished a bit. xD Haha.
AND I LOVE THE IMAGES AND BANNERS TOO! biggrin The ones you picked are really my favourite ones... (And it's amazing you picked them out with the million-bajillio0n pictures I post all the time. XD)..... the kid with the purple outfit and skull tie- I like the outfit but the face isn't so good...
XD Really, all the pictures you put up and everything.... it's just so AWESOME!!!! There's just so-so much to comment on!
I also really, really love seeing peoples ideas/insight into other people's stuff! Yesss!!!! Oh! I lurvelurve lurve you so much! And I am totally using that banner. :/ biggrin
And I love how you wrote the part about obsession- that's it, really. Voldemort is a man who I think becomes obsessed pretty easily. And Godfrey is looking for someone to get obsessed over- some sort of older/adult figure, someone who will take control and all of that. razz But at the same time he sees himself as an adult, but likes to act childish on purpose.
There's a lot of Daddy issues in all of this. xD Hahaha....
<3 Love love love this, love you, love everyone, LOVE VOLDEMORT!
razz Because without Voldemort, THERE WOULD BE NOTHING.
AND LOVE MIKE! BECAUSE WITHOUT MIKE THERE WOULD BE NO VOLDEMORT!
biggrin
Let's see..... Godfrey and Voldemort first met in his first Papa Gilderoy's thread.... Gilderoy P. Lockhart
I'm pretty sure something like this was said:
Godfrey- 'And now you've been naughty, so I get to sit in your lap! HMPH!'
And then Voldemort's sexy, deep chuckle. OhohohYES. XD
