Finally another warmer spring day was upon the lands. Oathkeeper had an easier time traveling in mild warmth. He stretched out upon the meadows just yonder from the glen he and his herd and teepee resided in. Dew scattered amounst the grass made it the tastiest out of any time of the year. He helped himself to some as he lounged about. He didn't much feel like far wandering today, so enjoying the land would be the best for his age. The dandylions tickled his scars of a battle past and he shifted subconciously.

Far off in the corners edge of the forest, just near the meadow, light barks and snarls came from within followed with the gallops from a tree colored mare as she springs from the forest. She was panting and terrefied for her life. She slipped on the dew grass, twisting her front right leg as she landed then slid a few feet on her side. She couldn't help by cry. Today was just a bad day for her and now this.
The dark growls continued as they got closer. Not soon after the mare fell, a blood stained wolf came from the forest. He grinned satisfied that the mare stopped finally, hopeing he would finally get a chance at seeing if the tree like growths on her back could get up rooted.
(grats on your little girl foal btw!)

((Thanks so much! I simply adore her! whee ))
The sound of rustling and snarling was never a good thing. He'd first experianced that with the bear he'd saved his two-legger from upon their first meeting and then again, more recently and much more worse---with the skinwalker incident. Oathkeeper moved swiftly to his feet to get a better view. What he saw was no bear, or no skinwalker (thank the great spirits)---but rather a very nasty looking wolf pursuing a rather unique looking mare. A first Oath didn't think it was that big a deal, that is, until he saw the look of utter terror upon the enclosing mare's face.
Clearly in need of help and not in a fun game of chase, Oathkeeper galloped on over, skidding to a halt between the mare and trailing wolf. His protective instincts were positively boiling in his blood. He stomped a hoof, to be sure the creature would stop and direct attention to him.

(hehe yeah she adds more color to your herd <3 you need some green in there. *ponders and pokes her Trevor some.* I'll come up with something. XD)
Ashley couldn't help but jump back about a foot, as the hoof stomped a bit close to him. His ears perked up, but his growls didn't stop. Looking up to see the intruder, he didn't like this stallions interuptions one bit. He took a slow deep breath just to let out an even deeper, darker growl at this stallion, while positioning himself. He wasn't about to let this male get in the way of his fun.
Meme's breath quivered before she gasped not expecting someone to come help her. Her tears continued to run down her cheeks as she looked up to see the stallion as a bit of relief started to flow though her body. To her it was like seeing the knights white horse, ready to rescue fair maidens, she couldn't help but stare.
It didn't take Ash long after to lunge at Oath, his teeth bared, ready to rip into the stallion.

(( xd No, no green. They're all a perfect blend of blues, purples, golds or pinks, orange and golds heart Thx for the cute offer/suggestion though whee )
Having just delt with a skinwalker not too long ago, a smaller wolf would be a cake walk. He dodged quickly and reared, stomping the ground violently again, right before the wolf's face. "What's your purpose, you bloodthirsty fiend?" he demanded. If he could avoid a battle he would. He didn't need anymore scars. The one's from Paris the Skinwalker still ran deep and we're obvious. But if the wolf was just bloodthristy, not in the least bit sentient or perhaps wouldn't care to be talked out of his current advancement; then a battle it would be. And not a very good one for the wolf, as Oath wasn't about to let the terrified mare to be harmed.

(You never know, i can me very mysterious! ninja mrgreen Bwahahaha! )
Coming that close to being injured himself Ashley just let out an insane cackle. "Quite fun! Oh you are a very interesting Stallion indeed. I think I might add you to my list." His grin turned more wicked as his growls subsided. "So it seems you wish to be apart of my little experiment." He nodded towards the Mare. "You see this young mare has a unique growth on her back, it seems unexplainable. So my plan is simple. I'll tear off each and every one of those growths, seeing if they're apart of her life, or just some hideous costume. Then again she isn't much for looks. It might be for the best if we're down one more discusting horse." He paced slowly as he spoke. He didn't care if he told this Stallion his plans, he knew no matter what he'd get what he wanted.
Meme's ears folded back scared even more as Ashley spoke. It took her awhile to get back on her hoofs but stumbled a bit. Her front right hoof throbbed in pain from twisting it, having her give off a soft whimper. She tried her best to shake it off, looking down at her hoof only to draw her attention to the Stallions scars. "Are you alright?" Even in this situation, she had a bad habit of thinking about others before herself.

A quick glance away from the wolf to the mare confirmed his statement. She did have odd growths, but that was nothing out of the ordinary to him. "They're a part of her. 'Ripping them out' as you say, would most likely kill her" Oathkeeper began, "Which I assume, in no doubt, you wouldn't mind doing anyhow?" The stallion raised his head up and another large hoof right before the wolf's face. "Unique experiment or not, I won't let you harm her. All life is to be valued in this world and if you do not abide by that, then I'm afraid your life might be at a loss" Oathkeeper finished, "I assure you. I've delt with bigger threats than you. Proof of it is the scars I bear from a row with a Skinwalker."
Oathkeeper had hoped that answered the mare's question as much as he hoped it also would deter the wolf from his cause. He had wanted to answer her, but figured turning his attention away from the wolf for one second could give the agile creature a chance at attacking him off guard.

"I see my life lasting much longer than yours. I've had my close calls and delt with your kind before. I find it more like a game of Russian Roulette and so far I've never lost." He held his ground as the hoof came close to his face and smirked ever so smuggly. "In the end, I'll grasp my fangs across that growth of hers, you can't protect her 24/7 and when you least expect it, your attempts will be futile." Ashley took a few steps back, glanceing over at Meme before looking back up at Oath. "Besides, even if you took on such menaces, I doubt you ever had the nerve to kill them in the end. I bet they're still around to this day, waiting and watching to exact their revenge on your lowly soul."
Meme looked up a bit more, over hearing about how he got his scars and frowned. She only knew stories about these creatures, but to see proof, it greatly disterbed her, having her worry a bit more.

((How should I handle this without godmodding? xd I'd have Oath pound him good if I could ))
For the first time, Oathkeeper was actually losing his patience. The wolf still bantered on about evil doings, and just like it was with skinwalker Paris, his blood was boiling. "Enough talk, creature!" he practically barked, "So little do you know. Strong as I may be, a regular Soquili has little hope of killing a skinwalker! Only Angeni's have power enough to kill or mortally wound the skinned demons. I still handled my own. I stand here now, do I not?"
It wasn't really lying, but Oath wasn't keen on saying it was indeed an Angeni who wounded the skinwalker Paris and sent her running in the end. He had still protected his herd long enough and had gotten away with scars and his life. The wolf didn't need to know he'd almost died, but then again, Oathkeeper gladly would have laid his life down for his herd...or to save another. To him, protective fights were either win...or die doing everything you could. Never backing down, never surrendering.
"You have to the count of five to back down and leave with your hide still intact."

( XD I'm laughing and grinning so hard cause i can see oath just beating the mortal hell outta Ash. Gawd someday in the late future I should try and get Ash as a skinwalker and take on Oath again. OMG that would be so fun. )
Ashley sat and yawned, scratching his ear with his back foot as if he wasn't listening to the Stallion. "I wonder how long you acually lasted before the Skinwalker got tired of your pathetic hide." After getting back on his feet he streached and turned away. I can smell the sent still of this skinwalker you fought with. It's very feint, but it gives me joy. Maybe i'll be able to meet this beast that tore you to shreds. They sound like someone I would'nt mind learning some new tricks with." With that he flicked his tail and walked back towards the woods. He had his plans and wwasn't about to spoil them because of a stubborn horse. But the sound of some blood thirsty help intrigued him.
Meme waited quietly, peeking from behind Oath, before looking back up repeating what she asked him before. "Are you alright?"

((Oath would break his legs and chew his tail off then make him walk home if he had too. Normally, that's not his style, but to save someone--- xd ))
Triumphant, as he considered it, Oathkeeper stood tall watching the wolf slink away back into the forest. "Go right ahead" he smiled at the retreating creature. She'd have you for breakfast he laughed to himself in his own thoughts. Paris wasn't ever the type to help. She'd trick him into thinking she was being an accomplice, then turn on him when the time was right. Although, leading Paris back to him wasn't a idea Oath prefered either. She'd eat the wolf like an appitiser and go for the main entre. Oath would need Idren for help yet again and poor Idrenniel really doesn't need that kind of confrontation all the time.
"As alright as I think I can be" Oathkeeper finally answered, turning around and turning his full attention on the mare now. He smiled at her, "How'd you get into a run with such a vicious lil beast miss?" he asked. He was kind of hoping they weren't well acquianted. Not because he suspected her to be bad or anything...but more so if the wolf knew her more personally, he was sure to trail her often. Oath didn't even want to think of the possibility of the wolf getting to her when he wasn't around to help.

( It still puts a funny image in my head of him doing so XD )
Mele couldn't help but fold her ears back and look down with a sad look on her face. "He's from our Teepee. So he's basically apart of the herd. He doesn't bother the others to much yet, he just finds me interesting and constantly goes after me. I'm so sorry you had to go through the trouble of defending me." She was already on the verge of tears, from her hurt hoof but mostly because she was still so much like a filly. She wasn't the brightest, or bravest in her herd, and often got picked on from those outside her herd, or the human mostly from the herd, she was so afraid that she was going to get scolded because she couldn't defend herself that she kept her head lowered.

"It's my honor to protect others" Oathkeeper began, "Really it is. If one is strong and able to stand up for another, then not to would be a waste of what the Great Spirits blessed them with. Besides, evil only prevails when good does nothing. I'll never be caught 'doing nothing' whenever there is something I could be doing to help." He smiled a little, but then noticed she was sad and imbarrased. "But listen to me babble. I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Oathkeeper" he went on, trying to lighten the mood, "Might I know your name miss?"

She lifter her head slightly, she was a little surprised that he wasn't scolding her. "My name is Meme." It took her a few more moment before she fully looked up. "You look like a knights white stallion. Is the person at your Teepee a knight?" She started to feel a bit more comfortable around Oathkeeper, learning how helpful he was and how nice he seemed. "Can i call you Oath?"

Oathkeeper couldn't help but laugh out loud at that. "Why thanks for such flattery" he began, still laughing through his words, "She's---she's actually a herbologist." Oath was almost beaming fom the humor. Taking a deep breath in and letting it out, helped him regain himself. "Aha...anyhow, yeah. You can call me Oath. Most do" he smiled, "Meme, huh? That is a very cute name."
"Is there somewhere I can escort you back to safely? Or would you fancy a walk and chat to get your mind more off that creepy creature and the whole ordeal?" he asked politely.
