Asadaki was getting used to doing things Ylva's way. That was just the way things worked. And he couldn't exactly complain... first of all, he rather liked her, under her nasty exterior, and second... he still couldn't quite walk out of the den that had become his home over the last week or so. So unless he wanted the female to yell, or possibly try and beat him to death, he did what she said whenever he was asked to do anything.
They had even managed some polite conversation lately that hadn't made either one of them either cry, yell or threaten death to the other, or themselves. Which was essentially how all of their earlier conversations had started. Mostly his fault. He could talk now... and even though every day and every breath felt like death... it was lessening. Not by much, but it was bearable.
Every thought still led him back to Biku and Kavu. Unless he tried very hard to make himself think about something else... that was the only thing on his mind. And it killed him inside. But when Ylva was around... things were easier. Easier that she didn't know anything about him except what he had rambled about in his breakdowns...

Ylva stretched and let out a cute little yawn. Not something she had meant to do but she ignored that it had happened. Asa and her were getting along and seemed to have come to an understanding of each other which made the female happy. She sure didn't want to have to beat common sense into Asa, for one, he was growing on her. Even if Ylva wouldn't admit it, if anything bad happened to Asa, she'd be heart broken.
"Asa~!" The hyena cried out as she padded on over to him, nipping at his ear a little. "Think your well enough for a trip up the cave today?" The hyena yipped and playfully nipped at Asa's paws. This wasn't how Ylva usually acted, ever. And to those that knew her well enough, playful didn't suit Ylva at all. Infact, it was almost creepy.
But Ylva was in an upbeat mood today, for one, the moon would be full tonight. Ylva loved the big bright circle above, it always glowed so bright and white. Dependable. That was what Mr. Moon was.
Ylva continued to n** at Asa's heels some as she went this way and that way. Yeah, she had grown accustomed to having him as her guest.

Asa was a little suprised by her good mood, he was much more used to her grumpier one. He couldn't say that he didn't really welcome the good nature. The idea of going outside... it made him a little nervous. Anyone could be outside. Anything could be here... Kavu... Biku... if Biku had known how to follow him down the river... Would she have followed him after what he had done and what had been done? But he had to go outside some time...
But he took her good mood in stride, despite how strange it seemed to him. Weirder things had happened in his life. "Alright Ylva... I suppose I can give it a try..." He said thoughtfully, glancing at the entrance, "Be careful not to stand behind me though... if I fall, I wouldn't want to hurt you by accident."
This much was clear, Asa almost always seemed to put Ylva's saftey before his own. Which was often silly, since he was so weak he could barely walk across the room most days. But he was usually solumn, good natured and gentlemanly towards the female who had been taking care of him.

Ylva stood up straight and nodded, "Alright, but I'll go ahead of you and you meet me up top." She wasn't going to help him up, that wasn't her style. In all honesty, the hyena had figured she'd be turned down. Though this worked out, she could see how well he was healing and if worse came to worse she'd help him. That was if worse came to worse.
With out a word, the blue gray glowing hyena started up the top. Her foot work was that of a prow who had done this many times over. Her feet knew just where to go, keeping her in a steady pace as she made her way to the top. This had taken a lot of practice on her part, but she was sure that Asa would make his way up. With a bit of a flashy finish, she had climbed up the cavern with out so much of a sweat.
The hyena turned staring down at what she now considered her friend. "Come on Asa, its not that hard." Ylva watched him with great interest. She wouldn't let Asa do this if she thought it would kill him.

Asadaki nodded, slowly making his way up after her. He slid a few times back and forth, but he eventually made it up to the top, unable to do a flashy finish of some kind, but he did his best. And he finally managed to get outside, and he had to cover his eyes from the sun when he finally saw it. He hadn't been outside in nearly a week... he was more used to the crystals than he was the sun itself.
"I'd forgotten how bright it was out here..." He mentioned, blinking against teh daylight. "I just got so used to being inside like that..." He mentioned, taking a look around.

Ylva watched him as he made his way up, brows raised. The hyena hadn't expected him to make it but here on the top of the cavern he stood. He was recovering at a rapid rate. To say the least, Ylva was impressed, or more so with Asa.
"Yeah, " The hyena stood and turned her back to him starting off into the plains, but stopped looking back at him with a smile, " It really is something when you realize something so beautiful was right in front of you the whole time," The hyena moved her head in a motion for Asa to follow after.
The female wanted to show him something.

Asa walked slowly after her, still limping a little. The walk upwards had been a lot harder than he thought it would be, especially in his condition, but he did his best not to complain. He doubted she would appreciate it, as she had yet to care much for anything he wanted to complain about. So he did his best to keep up instead.
"I suppose..." He mentioned, thinking about the beautiful things in front of him that... weren't anymore. He had once thought only about what it would be like without Biku, then he had thought they would never be apart, and now he was convinced that they would never see each other again.
"Where are we going?" He asked after a little while, feeling slightly out of breath. It seemed like the trip was straining his body a bit...

Ylva started up a gentle slope of a hill. The hill was decorated with seemingly dull stones at random and boulders. You wouldn't think twice if you saw it but it seemed very important to the hyena as she made her way up to the top.
The fact that Asa was having any sort of trouble had slipped the young adults mind. It wasn't until she made it to the top and looked down at him did she frown. He seemed like he may be having some trouble, still Ylva said nothing and only shouted, "Hurry up slow poke!"
Her cold blue eyes watched him for a moment before she made her way to a large boulder and climbed on top with ease. The hyena took a seat and watched from her new resting place. The hill wasn't a death wish to climb, it was just a normal rolling hill, despite the rocks.

Asa took a deep breath, finally reaching the top of the hill and sitting down beside Ylva, taking deep breaths, "Sorry... still not used to walking around... it's further then I wanted to go." He mentioned, sitting down and taking several deep breaths. "This can't be good for my health."
He looked up curiously, "Where are we?" Asa glanced around, wondering why the hill was so important and what it was exactly that she seemed to want him to see.

Ylva nodded, "We'll be sleeping under the stars tonight, no more walking." Then she turned her back on him to look up at the setting sun. She was waiting for something but the question was what. The shadow's of the land grew longer and longer as the darkness over head stretched its claw like fingers over the land, devouring the scenery greedily. Ylva's pelt seemed to be growing brighter as the sun dipped further behind the horizon.
The rocks around the hill that seemed dull also started to glow. Ylva just waited and watched not saying anything, her expression as blank as stone.

"Sleeping under the stars?" Asa whispered, staring up into the sky. He hadn't slept under the stars since... "My sister used to love seeing the stars. She thought they were fireflies that got stuck up there..." He sighed a little, "Or that the Gods put them there to guard us and lead us back home." Some crappy job they did of that as far as he was concerned.
He immeditaly stopped talking about her. He couldn't bear to talk about her... not another word. Biku... she loved the stars so much. And they wouldn't lead him back to her, or her to him ever again. She had watched when he threw himself back off the cliff. She had seen him fall and screamed his name.
"I'm so sorry Dabiku... I hope one day, you'll find it in your heart to forgive me for failing you." "Asa...? What are you...? ASADAKI!" He could still hear her voice in his head, screaming his name before he hit the water and the rocks below him. He nearly threw up in his mouth thinking about it... But he managed to keep his shaking to a minimum.
"I've always liked the stars..." He whispered.

Ylva watched him as he talked. Her face remained as hard as stone as he rambled about his sister. Still, the pieces of the story were still very scattered for Ylva since she had not listened to him talk about his troubles. She knew enough, though, to know that his sister must have had at least some connection to the torment he dealt with daily.
"Your sister and you... close?" Her tone was as unreadable as her face. The stars over head twinkled and shimmered and were ignored by Ylva as she stared a hole through Asa.
That stare of hers, intense and unreadable. The hyena wasn't aware that she stared so often. For one thing, she thought staring was rude and would get on to others she didn't know about staring. Though, Ylva was hard not to stare at some times with her intense pelt.

Asa froze up a little, but he took a deep breath. "Yeah. Yeah... we were... We're twins. It was always just the two of us... I mean, we didn't have any other siblings. But she was..." He laughed a little, but it was far from a happy laugh. The exact opposite, even. It was something sad and far away, "I would have done anything for her... I did do everything for her." He shook his head, looking at Ylva and forcing a smile. "Sometimes you do everything you can... and it doesn't help."
He shut off that line of thought and looked back up at the stars. His stomach was churning at the very thought of Biku. Her smile, her laugh, the way she danced in the moonlight... Asa had never loved, or cared, for anyone like he cared for her. For a while, he had thought perhaps Kavu would... But betrayal only hurt when it was someone close to you. Someone you thought you could trust no matter what.
"Sorry... I keep bringing up things you don't want to hear." He told her, sighing, wishing he could find his breath again. Just talking about her. Thinking about her. It hurt to take a breath, like there was a weight on his chest trying desperatly to crush him.

"So that makes since, something happened you had no control over," Though she had already figured that much out. The question of what still remained. The dominate hyena would not openly admit that she was curious about the whole story, nor did she want Asa to tell it for his own well being. When the two first met, Ylva could care less about his dramatic past. However, now , she knew Asa on a more personal level and actually cared about what he thought and his well being. Imagine that.
The hyena rolled onto the back and finally gave the twinkling stars the attention they had begged for. Ylva was pretending not to be all that interested, a defense for the fact she felt she was growing more and more familiar with Asa. It was her own stubbornness and her own pride that caused her to roll on her back and pretend not to be interested.
"Asa," The hyena finally said, though she really wish she hadn't. A long sigh followed after , "You know.... not that I care," She lied, "But I'm sure that your sisters looking up at the same stars right now hoping that you are looking up too." Then the hyena turned to her side that faced the horizon rather then Asa.

"Perhaps... but if I had made different choices... I can pinpoint the exact moment... the exact mistake where my sister and I would have been safe." Asa sighed, "One choice that I made... which could have changed everything that happened. Maybe not... what happened back home. But at least I could have saved her... at least I could have rescued the only person who ever meant anything to me." He hung his head a little, "One choice destroyed everything I ever had."
He looked back up into the sky as meaningfully as he could. "I hope that she is... that she's alright... better off without me, I suppose." Asa mumbled quietly, "She's stronger than she knows... smarter than I ever was too, but no one ever let her prove it."
He shook his head. He kept rambling off about things she didn't want to hear. He needed to stop talking about it... but it was all he had to talk about now. Everything that had happened up until he had been rescued... was now laced with misery and tregedy, no matter how much he wanted to deny it.
