Amber had mentioned a posting contest a while ago, and I think it's a great idea. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to run a contest of this nature? I'd like to get something going fairly soon. Thoughts?

I would want to make sure the rules require actual posts, not just spam or emoticons. Any thought for prizes? I can pitch in the gold, cash, or items, but I don't really have any fantastic ideas at the moment.

Would it be in a thread, or a general contest? And when would the deadline be?

A theme would be good, I'd guess... Maybe some sort of role play that has to do with the summer?

Weird and I have chatted about a themed event for the summer, but nothing has been nailed down. I was thinking about making this a more general contest, though. I want to get our members making threads and adding to the ones we have. My goal is to help people make friends here. As far as a deadline goes, I'm not really sure. Thoughts?

We could have an ongoing contests with smaller prizes at the end of the month and a big one overall.

Excellent idea. Any thought for prizes? Should we just go with gold and maybe MCs?

MC's are good. I guess the winner could select one from a certain price range (30K and under?) and an EI at the end of the summer.

Excellent suggestion. We're looking at an outlay of no more than 320k that way. (30k each for June, July, August, and September + 200k for an EI)
What about rules? I do not wish to participate in the contest, so I can be the judge.

No double posting or emoticon only posts unless an emoticon happens to say it all.
What happens if you post and delete it? Does it still count?

Ooh...that's a tough one! I don't know what happens to that! Does it still up the post count?

Looks like the post count stays.

I guess we'll have to disqualify someone if it becomes a problem. I'm not concerned if it only happens once or twice. As crew, we can see deleted posts and either reduce the qualifying count (if two people are really close) or disqualify a member if it seems the delete post button is being abused.
