Description: Maritagoma Kurchigo is one of the, if not the, oldest and most powerful arrancar to exist. He is a Vasto Lorde and is the closest to being a true Arrancar as he has Shikai form for his Zanpakutou.
Maritagoma has spent many hundreds of years wandering around the world of the Living. In 800 AD in Spain a human who was able to see spirits and hollows saw him and called out "El Diablo." Maritagoma didn't know what this meant but he liked the fear he saw in the humans eye and took it as his nickname. As a reward for the new nickname Maritagoma let the human survive and left. Most iconic pictures of the devil in Christianity are based on Maritagoma.
He returned to Hueco Mundo in the Seventeenth Century. He spent his time wandering Hueco Mundo, meditating and absorbing weaker hollows. This is what made him the creature he is today.
When Aizen was recruiting hollows to be Espada Maritagoma didn't like Aizen's plan of destroying everything. He thought Hollow should rule everything, not destroy it. So he left Aizen to his own devices knowing he would fail and that he could take over and rule.
Upon Aizen's defeat he killed any remaining Espada and any hollows that refused his rule.
Maritagoma adopted many traits from his time wandering the world of the living. He rewards loyalty and victory. He can accept failures, but if one fails in too much, or it is a big failure he will punish harshly. Disloyalty will be met with a slow and painful death.

Shikai Ability: His strength greatly increases. His cero charges quicker. His balas are stronger. He is able to fire ceros and balas through his zanpakutou
Attack no.1: Fire Wave
-A 20' long and 50' high blast of fire shoots out of his zanpakutou. It keeps moving for 200' in a straight line. Anything flammable that it touches immediately catches on fire.
Attack no.2: Fire Ball
-A small red bead shoots out of his zanpakutou extremely quickly. It can fly out to up to 500'. When it stops it explodes. The explosion covers a radius of 50' in all directions.

Resurrección Ability: Able to fly and use Sonido while doing it. Reiatsu, strength and speed are increased exponentially.
Attack no.1: Fire Spikes
- Massive amounts of spikes fly out of his wings.
Attack no.2: Pit Absorb
- He temporarily creates an extra dimensional space. Anything within 1 mile radius from him is transported to this extra dimensional space leaving a crater in its stead. the ground and buildings sit over a huge fiery pit. Any normal human beings and animals caught within this attack have their soul ripped from their body and is absorbed by Maritagoma increasing his power. Humans with Special Abilities, Quincy, Shinigami, hollows, vizards and bounts are immune to the absorption but are transported. Any buildings made from spirit particles (such as buildings from Soul Society and Hueco Mundo) are also absorbed by him. He is invulnerable to any physical attacks in this Extra Dimensional space but he can not attack or move. The extra dimensional space lasts only one minute. After the minute is up anything that was not absorbed is returned where it was when that one minute is up.
