Might as well get this started early, eh?

Seeing as most of the close hotels are already sold out D:

Ayhow. Me and some of the other higher-ups (mostly Me, Baker, and Ember. razz ) decided that we should try and get as many Paladins as possible to come to Otakon this year so that we could all meet up.

I know it's not realistic for a lot of you to come to Baltimore, for various reasons (distance, age, money, parents) but I thought maybe posting about it way in advance might give everyone time to save up money/wear down their parents, etc.

ANYHOW!

Otakon will be held August 4-6, 2006 in Baltimore Maryland.

I believe it's the biggest anime/videogames convention in the US, if I'm not mistaken. 22,000 people this past year.

As far as rooming goes, like I said, most of the closer hotels are already sold out. I have one reserved in the Marriot Inner Harbor (loc. 3 on the map), but I'm not sure how many people my friends will mind having in the room with us. I know Baker's staying with us, and it's always nice to have more people (= less cost per person for the room), but we'd also like to be able to sleep comfortably, too. (This past year I had to sleep on the floor both nights, and I was the person who had to drive, too. scream ) So it all depends on what they say. Hopefully enough Paladins can go that you can reserve a room for everyone to stay in. smile

And oh man, I just realized everyone in my room so far will be 21 by then... My room is now officially the party room, haha!


Anyhow.


I ask that you all seriously consider coming, if at all possibly. It's a really fun convention, and it would be totally awesome to meet all of you!



Oh, also, Baker and I will be getting married there, so you don't want to miss that.

I could ask my parents if I could go with my older sister. I'll be going to college that September so maybe as a graduation gift.

Probably are.. but I don't feel like paying for a hotel.

That's alot of saving for a guy without a job to do.. I could split with some, but I couldn't buy a room.. =p

Anyways, I'm going to try to go. We'll just have to see. I'm planning to go to Japan during the summer, so yeah. But I'd chip in, yadda yadda. Though you'd all have to promise not to make fun of me if I cosplay as Sephiroth. gonk

Yes but it's still Sephiroth. xp And besides, I might go as Soma Cruz from Castlevania.

Lunar will be going to Otakon! Even if Usagi has to drive down and win her parents' trust so he can drive her.

Anyways, those of us who will be going, we need to arrange a hotel soon. And how much each person will be paying, if we need more than one room, etc. 3nodding
