Tari had been wandering and thinking, as she usually did these days. She thought a lot about her son, the one whom she had left with his father. She still felt guilty about that, but knew there really wasn't any way they could ever see one another again. She was young foolish at the time, just an adolescent. She hadn't realized what her actions had really meant. But it was all in the past, and she focused her thoughts on the future again.

Lately she had been wandering the borders of the Tianxia lands more and more, venturing further and further out. None of the scouts questioned her, since she was still a princess, although not second in line to the throne of the East House. She wondered why she felt the need to travel so far away, but she couldn't put her paw on it. She knew there was a strange longing to be traveling within her, something she could never quite get over. But could she leave her family? She didn't think so. She had been with them her entire life, and she knew she couldn't leave them now. Not with the new pride established and everyone still stressed out. She knew they needed her.

But even still, there was that tugging on her heart, telling her to go. Go explore and live her own life.

She sighed. Being a princess wasn't easy.

Jahazi had been wandering as well. He didn't have the responsibilities that the lioness did, but he noticed lately that he had been wondering more and more about his father. Where was the male he didn't know? Had he even known Jahazi existed? His mother never spoke of the male, he didn't even know his name. But the leopon boy had been wondering more and more recently about trying to track the male down, although he knew it was quite impossible.

As the male wandered he sighed, not realizing he was so close to a pridelands borders. It wasn't the first time he had done it, and when he looked up he noticed a female walking slowly through the mountain-like terrain. He looked up at her, squinting slightly. He wondered who she was, and he started walking towards her, hoping she would notice him before he came right up to her. He didn't want to frighten her.

Tari didn't notice the male, instead she smelled him on the wind. She looked over towards the scent, and was surprised to see a lion-like male walking towards her. Who was he? A messenger? A new scout she hadn't met? She was curious; and she trotted down to meet him. She smiled softly at him.

"Greetings, stranger." She said, watching him closely. Her voice was musical, very soft and light, kind on the ears. "May I ask who you are?" She looked him over quickly, unsure of what he was, really. He was definitely lion-built, but there was something about him that was... off. She couldn't place it, and didn't want to be rude and ask. She had learned from when she was a cub that asking every question that came to mind (which was always a lot in her case) was not a good thing.

Jahazi was entranced by her voice. He didn't know who she was, but he wanted to know her very badly. She was beautiful and he had never seen another like her. He had to snap himself out of his trance as he just stared at her, and he blinked a few times before speaking.

"Oh, my n-name is Jahazi." He said, bowing clumsily to her. He looked up at her with his amber eyes, wondering who this gorgeous creature was. "I was just t-traveling through." He said, still staring at her. "I hope I d-didn't intrude on anything, ma'am.." He said with another respectful bow. He had no idea this girl was royalty, he treated any female the same way.

As he watched her all thoughts of his father left his head, and he wanted nothing more than to get to know this female. Who was she? What were her dreams, her fantasies? Did she have a mate already? Did she have a family? Questions flowed through his mind as he stared at her, awaiting on edge for her response.

Tari watched the colored words flow from his mouth. Hmmmm, orange and blue and purple, quite a mix. She knew from experience that orange meant nervous (and the colors were certainly dominated by orange). Blue was sad, although that seeped away quickly. And the purple was always a confusing one to her. Sometimes it meant lust, sometimes wonder, it was an odd color.

She took her eyes off the words that were invisible to him and brought them up to his amber eyes. She smiled softly at him as he started speaking, his stutter was quite charming. She found it cute, and as he started twitching she felt a bit worried for him. She knew she was making him nervous and she hoped she could calm him down.

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you, Jahazi." She said with another smile, "My name is Tari'alla Mila, but you can call me Tari." She sat down, curling her tail around her leg, a trait she got from her great-grandmother. "Just so you know, you're on the border of the Tianxia lands." She said with a nod, leaving out the part that she was a princess. She didn't want the poor boy to become even more nervous. "But it's alright, not to worry. And where are you from? You have a very interesting form, are you a hybrid by chance?" She asked, before she could stop herself. "If you don't mind my asking." She added quickly.

Jahazi wondered what she was looking at while he spoke, and he looked down, expecting to see something there. But there was nothing to look at, and he wondered if perhaps she was blind? But then she looked him in the eye and he knew that wasn't that case.

"Oh, am I?" He asked, looking around. There was a pride here? It was so... rocky. He wondered what they ate, how they lived, what they were like. He looked back over at her when she asked about his form. He nodded with a little smile. "Yes, I'm h-half leopard and half l-lion." He said with a nod.

"So, you are p-part of the Tianxia lands?" He asked, tilting his head.

Tari nodded at his response. So that was what it was. Now that she knew, she could see the leopard in him. Especially the tail. She nodded at his question as her tail thumped against the ground. "Yes, I am." She said, wondering if she should tell him that she was also a princess. She had the feeling it would make more nervous.

"My parents rule the East House, so technically I'm a princess." She said with a bashful smile. "But don't worry, I'm just like everyone else." She said with a nod. "Did you travel far to get up here?" She asked, still surprised that he got past the guards so easily.

Jahazi blinked in surprise and nodded a little at her words. So she was a princess? What should he do? Bow again? Call her "Princess Tari"? He was nervous and his eye began twitching more.

"Oh, r-really? You are?" He asked, although he wasn't surprised. Someone so beautiful must be royalty. "You're v-very b-beautiful, T-Tari." He said softly, smiling shyly. "I just had t-to say it, I'm s-sorry if it w-was rude."

He really had never felt this way about someone before. She made his heart race and he wondered if she was taken, but he was too shy to ask. He hoped the topic would just rbing itself up.

Tari smiled bashfully and looked away, watching the now bright orange words fall to the ground and dissolve into the earth. "oh, well, thank you..." She said softly, looking up at him with big eyes. No one aside from her family had ever said that before, and she instantly liked this male.

"Yes, I am. One of my five sisters is the heir, though. I'm never going to rule anything. I don't really want to, actually." She said with a soft chuckle. She started talking fast, trying to get the attention away from the comment her made.

"Do you have any family?"

Jahazi liked listening to her speak, even though it was very fast. He couldn't speak fast at all, so listening to her was a pleasure for him. He thought about his mother, whom he had been traveling with since he was a cub. He just never saw the need to leave her, although she was -perfectly capable of taking care of herself. And she did tell him often that he should go find a nice girl and settle down.

"Y-yes, I t-travel with my mother." He said with a nod. "I also have f-four siblings, but they've g-gone off on their own." He sounded a little sad at this, since he did miss his brother and sisters. "Do you get along with your family?" He asked, wondering if being one of six sisters was difficult.

The sun had started to set, and Tari knew that her mother would worry if she didn't get back soon. But she didn't want to end this meeting, and she stayed.

"Oh, that sounds nice. Just you and your mother, traveling the world." She wondered what it would be like to do that, to travel with no worries or responsibilities. But she knew that was not her life, and she accepted it.

"Oh yes, I get along well with everyone." She said with a smile. "They're easy to get along with, although they all have their quirks." She chuckled a little at this.

With reluctance she stood. "I'm afraid I must go." She said sadly. "But perhaps we can meet here again, tomorrow night?" She asked with bright eyes, hoping he'd say yes.

Jahazi smiled as she spoke, again loving the sound of her voice. A look of disappointment crossed his features when she stood and said she had to leave, but it quickly changed to a look of hope when she offered to meet again.

"I would l-like nothing m-more than to meet you here again, Tari." He said witha bow of his head as he turned and left. He certainly didn't want a guard or scout to catch him with the princess.

"Until then, Princess." He said, glad he he hadn't stuttered those last words. He began the trek down the rocky terrain, smiling brightly to himself.

Tari smiled as she watched him leave, and she turned as well, walking back up to her family. She had started the day with heavy thoughts, but as she walked back they were much lighter. She thought only of the endearing male and his adorable stutter as she settled down into the familiar lands. It had turned out to be an eventful day after all.
