Chubbs was born an Australia, where in a younger age in the outback town of Goondawindi, he was trained in boxing. He trained well and hard, winning a bulk of his matches, just enough to get him started into it professionally. Moving to Brisbane in Queensland at fifteen years old with his uncle, a successful project developer, Chubbs sort to make himself known within the boxing community.

He found the competition a lot stiffer than he bargained for, and found himself losing more and more matches. Even though with steady training, Chubbs began to gain weight with the excessive amounts of " comfort food" he consumed. This actually benefited him, his new size helped him in the ring enough for him to try an over seas match at the age of 21.

In America, Chubbs' fight ended up a fixed fight, and just before he was to go to the ring, he was warned by individuals where he may end up if it didn't work out as they planned. Chubbs, scared for his life, agreed, by due to nerves, Chubbs' stomach couldn't handle it and he found himself fleeing from the ring to find the bathroom. Humiliated and scared, Chubbs fled from the arena and into the streets. Fearful that the "connections" over exaggerated in movies of organized crime would find him, he kept himself out of site and off the radar, only recently 5 years later has Chubbs begun his own "second hand" boxing gym, a rusty ex warehouse for fish, for poverty stricken children.

Brown bears have coats in shades of blond, brown, black, or a combination of those colours; the long outer guard hairs are often tipped with white or silver, giving a "grizzled" appearance. Brown bears have a large hump of muscle over their shoulders which gives strength to the forelimbs for digging. Their forearms end in massive paws tipped with extremely powerful claws that can be up to 6 inches in length. Unlike the claws of other large predatory animals, such as lions or tigers, the claws aren't retractable. This gives the claws a dull edge when compared to other predators. The Brown Bear possesses tremendous power: a large specimen can break a bison's spine with one blow of its powerful forepaw. Despite the relatively dull edges to their claws, the sheer force of a blow from a large specimen is nothing short of devastating. Their heads are large and round with a concave facial profile. In spite of their size, some have been clocked at speeds in excess of 35 MPH. Aside from their overwhelming strength and deceptive speed, Brown Bears are legendary for their physical stamina. They are capable of running at full speed for miles at a time without stopping. The largest subspecies of the brown bear is the Kodiak bear and Alaskan Coastal bear. It is not uncommon for a large male Kodiak to stand 10 feet in height while on its hind legs, and weigh well over 680 kg (1,500 lb). The tallest bears have been known to reach heights of 13 feet. However, in terms of weight, the largest bear ever recorded was a Kodiak that weighed over 1134 kg (2500 lb) that was brought to the Berlin Zoo directly from Kodiak Island. Bears of this size weigh near 1500 kg (3307 lb) in the zoo, due to regular feeding.



The brown bear is primarily nocturnal and, in the summer, puts on up to 180 kg (400 pounds) of fat, on which it relies to make it through winter, when it becomes very lethargic. Although they are not true hibernators and can be woken easily, they like to den in a protected spot such as a cave, crevice, or hollow log during the winter months.

They are omnivores and feed on a variety of plant parts, including berries, roots, and sprouts; fungi; and fish, insects, and small mammals. Contrary to popular mythology, brown bears are not particularly carnivorous; they derive up to three-quarters of their dietary food energy from vegetable matter. Interestingly, bears eat an enormous number of moths during the summer (sometimes as many as 20,000 to 40,000 in a day) and may derive up to a third of their food energy from these insects. They also occasionally prey on deer (Odocoeilus spp.; Dama spp., Capreolus spp.), red deer (Cervus elaphus spp., or American elk), moose (Alces spp.) and wild boar (Sus scrofa).

Brown bears have also been found stealing the kills of tigers, wolves, and pumas. Two male tigers were found killed by brown bears in the year 2000.

Normally a solitary animal, the brown bear congregates alongside streams and rivers during the salmon spawn in the fall. Every other year females produce one to four young, which weigh only about 2 to 5 kg (1 to 2 lb) at birth. Raised entirely by their mother, the cubs are taught to climb trees at the sign of danger.





The Scandinavian Bear Research project lists the following situations as potentially dangerous:

Meeting an injured bear
A human suddenly appearing between a mother and her cubs
Meeting a bear in its cave
Meeting a bear who has been provoked by a dog
A careful person should always try to avoid these situations. Anybody who walks in a forest where there are bears could carry around a bell since a brown bear's natural instinct is to run away from humans; in groups trail songs are also effective. If camping, do not bring food into the tent and be sure to clean up all garbage-a bear thinks with its stomach. If one still meets a bear it is important to remain calm and to slowly walk in the opposite direction. A running human may trigger the bear's chasing instinct and typically a running bear can outrun a human adult. It is important not to make threatening moves, not to make eye contact nor to shout.

If a brown bear attacks and it is not possible to get away, the person should lie down in a fetal position and put his/her hands around the head to protect from bites. Do not panic.

The Tasmanian Devil is the largest surviving carnivorous marsupial in Australia. It has a squat and thick build, with a large head and a short, stubby tail. The devil stores body fat in its tail and an unhealthy devil often has a thin tail. Unusually for a marsupial, its forelegs are slightly longer than its hind legs. Devils can run in bursts at the impressive speed of 13 kilometres per hour (8.1 miles per hour). The fur is usually black, although irregular white patches on the chest and rump are common. Males are usually larger than females, having an average head and body length of 652 mm, with a 258 mm tail, and an average weight of 8 kg. Females have an average head and body length of 570 mm, with a 244 mm tail, and an average weight of 6 kg. The average life expectancy of a Tasmanian Devil in the wild is estimated at six years, although it may live longer in captivity.

The devil has long whiskers on its face and in clumps on the top of the head. These help the devil locate prey when foraging in the dark, and aid in detecting the closeness of other devils during feeding. When agitated, the devil can produce a strong odour, its pungency rivalling even the skunk. Hearing is its dominant sense, and it also has an excellent sense of smell. Since devils hunt at night, their vision seems to be strongest in black and white. In these conditions they can detect moving objects readily, but have difficulty seeing stationary objects. An analysis of mammalian bite force, corrected for body size, shows that the devil has the strongest bite of any living mammal. The power of the jaw is in part due to its comparatively large head. A Tasmanian Devil also has one set of teeth that grows slowly throughout its life.



Tasmanian Devils are widespread and fairly common throughout Tasmania. Found in all habitats on the island, including the outskirts of urban areas, they particularly like dry sclerophyll forests and coastal woodlands. The Tasmanian Devil is a nocturnal and crepuscular hunter, spending the days in dense bush or in a hole. Young devils can climb trees, but this becomes more difficult as they grow larger. Devils can also swim. They are predominantly solitary animals and do not form packs. They occupy territories of 8–20 km², which can overlap considerably amongst different animals.

Tasmanian Devils can take prey up to the size of a small wallaby, but in practice they are opportunistic and eat carrion more often than they hunt live prey. Although the devil favours wombats, it will eat all small native mammals, domestic mammals (including sheep), birds, fish, insects, frogs and reptiles. Their diet is largely varied and depends on the food available. On average, they eat about 15% of their body weight each day; however, they can eat up to 40% of their body weight in 30 minutes if the opportunity arises. Tasmanian Devils eliminate all traces of a carcass, devouring the bones and fur in addition to the meat and internal organs. In this respect, the devil has earned the gratitude of Tasmanian farmers, as the speed at which they clean a carcass helps prevent the spread of insects that might otherwise harm livestock.

Eating is a social event for the Tasmanian Devil, and much of the noise attributed to the animal is a result of raucous communal eating, at which up to 12 individuals can gather and which can often be heard several kilometers away. A study of feeding devils identified 20 physical postures, including their characteristic vicious yawn, and 11 different vocal sounds that devils use to communicate as they feed. They usually establish dominance by sound and physical posturing, although fighting does occur. Adult males are the most aggressive, and scarring is common from fighting over food and mates
