Dawn was just peaking over the hills igniting the sky in fiery oranges and hot magenta. Dew dripped off of every blade of grass. A few of the birds started to serenade in the morning light. An average sized P'an-Lun was resting on a few bushes. Floyd opened his eyes, stretched out on the ground, and yawned. He flicked his mane of rainbow hair out of his face. He had a feeling that it was going to be a fantastic day.

( *is lazy and doesn't have a journal entry for Illustria yet due to a needed journal revamp that hasn't happened yet* ) ~~~  Illustria lazily glided over a slow moving river, gazing at the patterns her crystalline skin left on the water, for the sun barely risen and the world itself hardly woken up. Her familiar wasn't too far behind her, stopping every now and then to examine a tree for a possible napping place. Just the same old easy pace of morning for the both of them, not a care in the world.

Floyd shook off the dew on his mane and tail. He thought about what he should do for breakfast but he couldn't decide. He thought that maybe a morning swim was in order to clear his mind. He trotted down to the river bank, enjoying the squishing sounds his paws made against the mud. He jumped into the river with a large splash. When he surfaced he saw beautiful rainbow colored female P'an-Lun. He hoped he hadn't accidently splashed her. "Sorry I didn't mean to splash you if i did?" he said confidently but still apologetically.

Illustria glided to a slow stop, seeming to snap out of some self induced trance. "Oh... I'm sorry. No, you didn't splash me." She paused for a moment, glancing around hovering above the surface of the river before replying again. "My you do have interesting colors... Almost like the water when I go for a swim in it."

"why thank you," said Floyd happily. He appreciated compliments. He swam towards the river bank to to find a place to dry off. Shaking clumps of rainbow hair out of his face he sat down he said, "I'm glad I didn't get you soaked it would have been rather embarrassing. So you like to swim as well?"

"You're very welcome." She settled on the grass by the riverbank coiling herself up, her familiar landing on one of the coils of her lower body to start preening. "I swim rather often, it's the only time other then flying that I can get around quickly."

"I love swimming, there is nothing quite like like it," he said with a smile. He stretched out himself onto a rock to dry himself off in the morning sunlight. "Can you introduce me to your little friend?" he said motioning towards her also very colorful familiar.

Illustria was wondering why she hadn't gotten around to introductions, silly her, she must still be daydreaming; how improper of her. "I am terribly sorry... My fine little friend here is Muse, and I am Illustria. Really, I am very sorry for not introducing us sooner, usually I have better manners."

"There's no need to apologize! If anything I need to apologize, I still haven't told you my name. It's Floyd," he said reassuringly. "Muse quite beautiful. Just like you," Floyd gave her a little wink. He looked over at one of the rock formations. It was a an odd shape, one large rock was balanced on a smaller one making sort of a mushroom shape. "Would you like to sit and watch the sunrise?" asked Floyd respectfully.

Illustria felt her colors shift to slightly more pink then she desired, the hue taking more dominance then the other colors where the light gave them away. Thankfully, only she understood the meaning behind her coloring and the cruel tricks it tried to play on her. "Oh why thank you... Of course I'll watch the sunrise with you, Muse and I were just looking for a place to stop actually. Thank you for the offer, and it is nice meeting you Floyd." Muse fluttered behind her, squeaking softly in quiet giggles so she subtlety shooed him with her tail as she started over to the rock.

Floyd nodded and started to walk towards the direction of some buettes where the view of the sunrise was best. Floyd was a little confused about Illustria's change in color, he'd never seen anything like it. "Tell me a little bit about yourself?" he said. She seemed like an interesting painter to say the least and he hoped they could have a long lasting friendship. Floyd tripped over a few pebbles, his focus wasn't really on walking.

"Oh..." She looks away for barely a moment before continuing on, her lower body in the air at normal height despite her front feet on the ground. "Well, for starters I suppose you could call whatever species I am a mutant. I've never been like the other pans I've seen in at least a few ways. For one, I lack back legs like the rest of you have." She stopped walking and glanced back at the empty space where her legs would have been. "And my wings don't make me normal either, I'm still not sure what they're made from, but both them and the scales that cover my body look like simple crystals to me. I suppose the oddest thing of all though it my coloring, it never stays the same, just like ripples in the water."

Floyd let out a throaty laugh," One can see that just by looking at you, I mean what are you like? What do you enjoy about life? What are your passions? What is your past and what do you hope for your future?" He gently dusted off the orange brown dirt from his paws from when he tripped

She paused again for another few seconds. "Well... For the most part I stay by myself, I don't run into a lot of other dragons because I don't stop moving, so I'm not entirely sure what I would describe myself as. As for what I enjoy about life, well, I love anything creative. I adore looking at the works of art in all forms that everything makes. Even the earth is a wonderful artist, as you can clearly see in that wonderful sunrise over there. My past is rather plain, I don't remember where I was born, but I do know that I've always traveled around looking at everything, and that Muse has always been with me. And for the future... Well, I suppose I'll leave that up to fate; she does so throw un such wonderful surprises." She glanced up as Muse flew ahead, spotting a fruit up in a tree he desired for breakfast.
"I should also give you fair warning about myself... I usually forget this part, but I have an odd gift that may or may not let other dragons trust me... I am an illusionist. If I desire, I can make any living thing fall into a deep trance and illusion so heavy and real that they believe it is life itself. I feel this makes me rather dangerous to others... Being able to influence minds in such a way.. But, I can control my own abilities so there shouldn't be anything to fear. I can understand if you do anyway though." She kept her eyes ahead of her, her mind focused on walking and filled with memories of what her gift had done in the past.

"No I'm not afraid, I'll just have to trust you," said Floyd seriously. Although he had a bit of a goofy streak he was dead serious about this. He hoped she understood that his remark meant that he would trust her and therefore it was her responsability to keep him safe from her power. "Well on the bright side if we come across Fell Beast you'll be able to illusion us out of that one," he joked. He cantered up the rock formation and took a seat at the top. Swishing his main out of his face he could see the sunrise better. He invited Illustria to sit next to him.
"I guess I should tell you a little about myself as well,"he said.
